THE THEORIES

Did anyobdy notice, that in 06x02 Smith acted like an advisor to Bertram?
Bertram: "So, what does Jane know"?
Smith (angry): "It's your job to find out"!
Bertram? He just nodded!!!

This was not a request, this was an order!!!

The Red John case is a CBI case. Bertram is a Director and Smith just an FBI- Agent. They were sitting in Bertrams office...
Does Smith simply have bad manners? I don't think so. Smith is very likely NOT Red John, but if there's really a kind of RJ cult, Smith's rank is ABOVE Bertram's. And that would rule out Bertram as Red John!

If it is true that RJ is one of those listed , that means there are 6 innocents . The first to die Partridge . Poor guy , maybe RJ is guilty but Patrick was the one who put him in the list , so Patrick is somehow responsible for his death , and the following .

We have 5 innocents+ RJ , but it is clear that Kirkland is a murderer and, if he is not RJ , then is his accomplice ( who does the dirty work ) would be an insult to say that Bob Kirkland is Red John ( too obvious). So we have 4 innocents and RJ ; Bertram , Thomas McAllister , Bret Stlies , Ray Haffner and Reede Smith .
Now they want us to believe that Ray Haffner is RJ because  the psychiatrist said that he knows whistle very well ( remember that whistles when visit Lisbon in the hospital) , looks good .. etc and maybe it is, but I'm more romantic and I like to give importance to trivialities such as names. Returning to William Blake poem that repeats Partridge in the last chapter .... This poem speaks of an almost divine being that is able to create the beautiful and the terrible, the good and the bad ( the lamb or tiger ) described this being as an artist who uses an anvil , a hammer an oven .. . ie a blacksmith . Reede Smith ( "the red is me" and says the other theory ) .Tagliaferro could be translated in english into Smith
Also whistles in the last chapter when Bertram 's office along

But the most important thing it is that we dont have too many information about him.

Thanks for reading and sorry about my english ( im from Spain)   :)

Just wanted to point out, in case anyone missed it, that Reede Smith whistled in Bertram's office after Jane left. Could this be a clue?

When PJ is in Sophie Millier's kitchen, RJ left a note that says "DINNER'S IN The OVEN."

Each "E" is written in a different manner - the dinnEr is uppercase block, the thE is lowercase, and the ovEn is cursive upper case.

Three E's.

The name "Reed" is not unusual, however the spelling "Reede" is.  It is unusual because it has 3 "e's."

Three E's.

Methinks we have been dropped a hint.

Reede Smith is Red John.  Even the name Reede contains Red.  The name Smith is the most common last name, while John was the most common male name in the 20th century.

Reede (Reed) is a English name meaning "Redheaded."

Last name "Smith" means "one who works with metal" or "to smite, strike."

The RJ Alias "Tagliafero" is an Italian name meaning "One who works with Iron" or "A strong or vicious fighter."

Reede Smith IS RJ.

if you saw this last episode, 2 intresting things:

1- in the reunion between the 3 suspects, why the moment jane leaves the room, reede smith asks 'what does patrick know'.... im starting to think they work for red john....

2- sophie said that mr rot could whistle, now am i the only one to think that all suspects are gonna start whistling throughout the rest of the episodes?
