Did anyobdy notice, that in 06x02 Smith acted like an advisor to Bertram?
Bertram: "So, what does Jane know"?
Smith (angry): "It's your job to find out"!
Bertram? He just nodded!!!

This was not a request, this was an order!!!

The Red John case is a CBI case. Bertram is a Director and Smith just an FBI- Agent. They were sitting in Bertrams office...
Does Smith simply have bad manners? I don't think so. Smith is very likely NOT Red John, but if there's really a kind of RJ cult, Smith's rank is ABOVE Bertram's. And that would rule out Bertram as Red John!

I think, RAY/K could be right with the theory but with the addition, that I'm not shure, if HAFFNER is RJ (Could be but it's not safe).
Let's face the facts: The video must have been taken approximately 1 or 2 days after Lorelei got shot (look at the tape on her left arm). When she was killed by RJ, her left arm was fully recovered. Usually this takes one week or more. Do you really think, RJ played the paramedic for Lorelei and simply killed her after she recovered...mmmmmmmmmh?  
AND Lisbon is the only person on this planet PJ told, that he wants to make a list and narrow it down.
Furthermore Bruno Heller stated, that the whole video thing could seem like a kind of magic to some people, but in fact, there is nothing supernatural about it.

So consequentially someone gave this information to RJ. I think, it was not Lorelei, cause she tried to kill him but failed. I think, PJ was Lorelei's paramedic after she got shot, he asked her a favour for that and Lorelei agreed. Lorelei of cause didn't tell him RJ's real name, cause she wanted to take her own revenge. It was a sporting chance for PJ. If Lorelei would have been successfull by killing RJ, PJ shurely would be satisfied, too. If she fails (what surely happened), the video was his backup plan.
I bet, that there are at least two disks. One with a RJ Video and the other one is the disk, PJ showed Lisbon. I think RJ's disk contains a video which is also spoken by Lorelei. And I believe, it nearly contains the same tenor, than the one PJ showed Lisbon: "killing a happy memory" (I just stated in a previous post that I'm shure, PJ and RJ know each other for a long time), "a list", that PJ "narrowed down"...etc (btw RJ's video just has to contain MORE than 7 suspects. It' s a prestidigitation) ;-) and he will "start to kill often" (what a big surprise) :-)! And watch PJ when he shows the video to Lisbon. He observes her all the time. Then watch Lisbons face. Sometimes it seems like she would say: "How tf could you know".
The reason, why she gave the information with the list to RJ is jealousy. Remember: "You're a littel in love with him". RJ always lured his followers by fullfilling a desire. Finally remember JJ LaRoches statement in one of the latest episodes: "Ther is a leak inside the CBI".
I would bet any money, that the video was a bait. PJ is smart. He suspects Lisbon as a whistle-blower.
This would make sense. There is no more evidence for this theory, but on the other hand, ther is no evidence against it.

Oh! I almost forgot to say: Bruno Heller stated, that some people will be disapointed, when the truth is gonna be revealed. I believe, that he basically didn't mean RJ's true identity. I bet, he meant all the Jisbon fans.

Up to the other suspects:

- Sheriff McAllister: My insiders tip. If he is RJ, he has to be Stile's younger brother, cause the actor is already 57. His shape looks a little like RJ, when he killed Rebecca. And he is from the Countryside (quote: He smells like pine, nails and earth). In addition to that, he acted a little suspicious in the presence of Van Pelt, if you remember. But maybe he is not the the real one. It also could be, that RJ John just lives in McAllister's county and he helps RJ to keep his cover. Maybe RJ blackmailed him. In any case for me McAllister is the one, who abused Van Pelt when she was a child (remember the restaurant scene in pilot). He is a "could be RJ".

- Brett Partridge: Together with Kirkland my second odds-on favorite. Who tf tells, that he is too young? In fact he is 44. Who means, he is crackbrained? He is a forensic expert. But there is more. It's part of the script, that he is head of the forensic department. His rank should be higher than simply "agent" or "special agent". I think, he must have at least a diploma in medical science. And he should have studied criminalistics as well. Yes, It would be a little obvious. But in fact his profile fits absolute everything we ever learned in the last 5 seasons. Height, shape, haircut. He also likes "cold" (Sometimes he surely has to examine bodys in the morgue and "Partridges" typically live in the tundra ;-)). What a great disguise for RJ: Acting like Partridge did, but being a criminal mastermind. That would be a little like Sherlock Holme's nemesis Moriarty, wouldn't it? Conclusion:YES!  

- Ray Haffner: Also a good suspect. Expert for wiretap operations and undercover surveillance, member of Visualize, height, shape and haircut fits the discription as well as his age. And remember the Timothy Carter episode: Bruno Heller stated: "For those with an eye for details, you might have seen RJ in the twinkling of an eye." Noooo. I don't wanna talk about the "Red Sweater Man". But rewatch the moment when the guards surround Patrick after he killed Carter. There's a man with a baseball cap running through the backround (left to right). Imho he seems to look a little like Haffner. And did you notice, that Carter allways answerde with delay? Ranked number 3 in MY list of suspects. 

 - Reede Smith: Reede WHO? All right, he just appeared in episode in season 5. I guess, the only reason why he is on PJ's list is because his name is similar to "Roy Tagliaferro" in other languages. "Reede" is gaelic, I think, for "Red" (nickname "Roy"). And "Smith" - "Tagliaferro" - "cut iron"...mmmmh? And he is too tall and (sorry Drew Powell) a little too corpulent
But he's the "mole inside the FBI", I guess. But Red John? NOPE!!!

That was part 2 of my theories about the 7 suspects. Next time, I will try to explain, what's up with the video, I will subsume the facts and I will try to forecast, what's gonna happen in season 6.

I think RJ is Kirkland, but Jane has been thrown off the scent because he doesn't appear to have shaken hands with Kirkland.

However, when they shook hands in the past, RJ literally had a different face and did not look like who we now know as Kirkland.

Clues:

1) Do you recognize me? (as Kirland carefully shows his face to the guy he kills in the hospital bed) No? Good. (then calmly injects the needle into the IV).  His voice almost sounded like Christopher Walken, so maybe Christopher Walken is RJ :-)  j/k

2) The woman in the hospital remarks how the guys from Homeland Security are creepy, not who they appear to be, like aliens under the skin.

3) The fake RJ that Jane killed at the end of Season 3 told Jane that he was going to stop killing, get a new face, new identity and move on.
