THE BOMB
1. Stiles had Hafner bring it to fake Stiles death and neither are RJ
1a. Stiles had Hafner bring it to fake Stiles death and Hafner is RJ but Stiles does not know this when he enlists him for this trick.
2. PJ set it up along with Stiles (and maybe Hafner too) to fake Stiles death
3. McAllister brought it to kill everyone but is not RJ
3a. McAllister brings it because he is RJ
4. PJ and Stiles alone set it up
5. Bertram brought it to take out Reed and McAllister since they are exposed BLAKE agents...
6. RedJohn brought the bomb and is one of the people in the room
7. RJ brought it but is not one of the folks in the room
8. PJ trusts McAllister, they together are planning something but the bomb interupts it.
8a. Same as 8 but the bomb is part of their plan
9. PJ trusts Hafner and they are working together with some trick at the house (bomb or no bomb)
10. Add another scenario to this please someone???

Believe me, I'm a RJ is Partridge guy and am eagerly anticipating the reveal. 

However it's sooo clear that there is a complete alternate storyline going on in The Great Red Dragon, that we aren't shown the full details of as yet. 

I just wanted to point out this very important scene where Patrick goes and kneels in church. Just after he kneels, the camera pans to a painting on the wall which shows a man with a beard holding a book with the Roman Numerals I through to VII (7). 

The man is holding up three fingers with his right hand - suggesting the number 3. 

This makes me wonder could this be Heller's way of indirectly referencing the seven suspects? And on the original list, the 3rd name read out by Lorelei is Haffner...

I wouldn't be thrilled at this outcome as I want it to be Partridge, but this seems like a clue that is hard to ignore.

How about this: Haffner is Red John, and he is also Michael Kirkland.

-He altered his appearance at some point, which explains Kirkland's killing people who don't recognize him, which means they obviously didn't work directly with RJ and were of no use to Kirkland.
- He is not a member of the BA, just knew about them and used that knowledge to his own advantage.
- How could a bomb have been smuggled into Jane's house?  It's not in a hat or a coat. It must have been done in advance by RJ, who knew the place Jane would most likely stage the "unveiling." He had been there before, when he killed Jane's family.
- Since the two remaining living suspects don't really match up to what we know about RJ, then one of the "dead" suspects must have faked his death. The best way to do it? By bringing Kirkland's bomb-laden body to the house ahead of time. That kills everybody involved, makes it LOOK like Haffner is dead because his DNA matches Kirklands, and allows for Haffner to disappear and start over.
- Now the world believes Bertram is RJ. Haffner/RJ goes to the church to gloat, or whatever the hell a psychopath does in that situation, and gets shot, flees, but is caught and strangled by Jane.
