So, they had casted her and knew who she was from season 5 (we are at season 10 atm), and Bruno Heller decided on RJ "a couple years ago"?

Let's face the facts, this show depended on audience to survive. He couldnt know how long it would take.

Probably Partridge was the choice when it started, but after so many years, and having forensics guys Being the

serial killer in other shows, so he decided the new RJ two years ago. (No way he started the show without one RJ).



We overestimated Bruno Heller, but i enjoyed the show, Besides the 6x08.

He had to move on, otherwise could lose audience, he said it was An audience demand.



But the thing is, if Sherrif was RJ, any one on the show could be. I enjoyed reading and writting theories, but RJ wasnt even decided, so the fans with they most popular suspects got some influence in Bruno Heller decisison.

I've got to say something , people are complaining about how bad Season 6 episode 8 is , I agree 100% but Lets be honest , the episodes 1-7 Were good to us because We made theories , We Kept guessing , and we all thought bruno knew what he was doing , let me point out the flaws of those episodes

1.Lisbon script mistake:- Lisbon said:-" Bertrum and the other 7 suspects on the list" that was a script mistake.

2. Lisbon's sudden urge to ignore telling patrick important stuff:- 
what important stuff you might ask..? well one thing is that she didnt tell him about haffners visitation at the hospital + his whistling , Nor did she tell him about Haffners Random fear of spiders , .

3.The whole blake Association thing is Garbage.. It would of been awesome IF bruno didnt fuck up and make it that RJ has followers that would commit suicide for him , i mean it was fucking stated that the members of tyger tyger had no idea who the hell was Red john and they all just followed orders.. So how did RJ meet lorlei and seduce her into working with him... , How did he Fuck up kristina frye? , how is it that Rebecca , that chick from season 5 finale , they all knew him personally.. How is it that red john went to prison , and then became a county sherrif...?? All remains unanswered , .....


Now I'm going to make a new scenario for you guys on the Red john reveal and i hope you all like it.. In my opinion this is how it should of gone down.

Patrick is in the church with Bertram , Bertram then confronts patrick and says.. "I never really wanted any of this to happen patrick , I'm not red john i've been undercover in the blake association trying to take it down ,  I had to get close with mcallister and smith in order for them to trust me , " *Jane looking deeply in his eyes and believes him" Jane says:- "I belie- Bamf gunshot right through Bertram neck.. footsteps are heard... Right behind him is a man in a mask , patrick turns around gun pointed towards his face , patrick not acting scared at all says.. Im tired of your games , Take off that mask and show me your psychotic face " , Red john slowly takes off the mask,.. and haffners face appears , "hello patrick in red johns voice, " Jane looks him in the eye and says .. Hello there.

Haffner:- "I know you must be surprised, after all i thought you'd cross me off your list the minute i showed you i was angry , for after all how could i ever get angry at you patrick?.. you complete me..

Jane:- " You're a sick sociopath who releases his sexual frustrations on innocent women, You killed my wife and daughter and i'm going to make you sorry.

Haffner:-" No you're not patrick  , i told you I'm done with the game i was going to end it with timothy carter as your "Red john" if you never found out he wasn't me , but you impressed me when you found out and dragged me back to play , Now only one of us will get out of here alive , .

Jane:- " walking around while talking to haffner and slides his hand under the chair ,and reaches out for the gun then..

Haffner:" Ha ha ha , pat , you really thought that i'd be stupid enough to not search for the gun before the meeting?... It saddens me , afterall i was one step ahead of you all the way, Say you want to know how i got that pretty little  list of yours?

Jane:-"Lorlei was alive her throat never got slit , and the E.M.T worked for you. so did partridge , .

"Very good jane , yes she wasn't killed , i .. require her for a little longer after to clean up the mess you've caused.. ah and lisbon , as much as i grew fond of her i'm afraid ill have to kill her this time , . 

"You lay a hand on her i swear to god I'll"......

"You'll what exactly , i've got the gun here .. pat. I've got 2 visualize members outside ready to aid me in whatever i need" , I.. *silent* 

"Hey ray, Miss me? .... * A wild lorlei appears behind him with a gun*

Jane:- " Its true you've outsmarted me every time ray but this time I win , The whole tyger tyger rouse was to get kirkland to help me track down Lorelei ,  you didnt really believe i thought you were psychic now did you? i promised him i'd help take down the blake association in exchange for his help , Reede smith then killed michael kirkland.. Your follower As planned and left Robert tricking you into believing hes michael , so i knew exactly who you are , but Lorelei deserves her revenge as much as me , so now we both get to kill you ,.. Gunshots outside fire and one manages to hit lorlei , while haffner makes a run for it , jane chases him and lorlei kills the shooter and chases too , After reaching the pond haffner collapses while laughing hysterically , You've got me this time patrick , but you have to say the game was fun while it lasted , ..

"Jane Stares into his eyes" I never wanted to play this game , but I win , ...

"Oh no you don't , You never get to see your wife and daughter again you know killing me wont change that , Come on now do it , pull the trigger ...

Jane:- "Savoring the moment ray im not hesitating"

Haffner :- "your wife begged for hers and her daughters life , she cried and pleaded while your daughter woke up terrified , no one there to protect her,, i cherished every moment i cut that bitches thro- *Boom* haffner gets shot in the stomach , again in the leg , Lorlei bends over and stabs him 4 times , haffner is left with a smirk on his face , and slowly dies.. .

"THE END"

Anyone else feel bad fro Haffner? He died because he had a crush on lisbon...

Everyone calm down.

Red John isn't necessarily dead. Not only was McAllister's personality and persona all wrong, but there WAS a serious clue at the scene of Partridges death. 

I'll let people clue it together. Why did Jane use a pigeon? Then add apply your answer to the one defining feature of the house Partridge was in.

Of course, if the show's ratings boost back up on this new type story, the writers will just throw that open end away and he will be dead.

And don't tell me you watch for Red John. He's just a bonus. We all watch for the fantastic character that is Jane and his interactions with any and all the other characters.

Hi Mentalist fans. First time poster here. My condolences to everyone who felt cheated on the Red John episode which I also found extremely disappointing. Just throwing this out there guys...Anyone else miss the Ray Haffner/Bret Stiles/Visualize storyline? I sure do. Maybe some of you can relate to this? I feel like they had this really intriguing storyline going with the Haffner & Stiles characters and the actors who play the characters were doing an awesome job with their roles. They were at least for me, some of the most compelling characters. And now all of a sudden....Poof! They are gone? What was it all for? If it was for nothing, what a waste of great actors and cool storylines that had a lot of potential.

And if you weren't going to make Haffner Red John (just sharing my thoughts ;) but for me he made the best RJ) then at least Heller could have not killed him off and at least kept him as a character. Haffner (the great Reed Diamond) really intensified each episode and i felt he always had something dark brewing under the surface...this made it more interesting for me to watch and wonder about. Also with all the conflict he had with Lisbon, Jane, etc...he got under peoples skin and yet they seemed strangely intrigued by him. I miss those characters & feel those intricately weaved storylines that had so many moments of brilliance...just disappeared. 

I had a lot of ideas on connections between characters such as...maybe Haffner and Jane met a long time ago when they were kids, or maybe they were brothers who never knew about each other and then red john found out jane was his brother and was jealous of him so he's got a complex about him. but I won't get into all my observations or questions...

I did want to get some feedback about this from some of you rj experts though...did anyone else....how when the PI was killed in her apartment but no red john smiley face was in her apartment?? So it doesn't seem it could be rj who killed her.
Plus how could she know he had 3 dots (the ones she made were vertical, tiger tygers were horizontal) when we could see he had a dark blue suit jacket on?) they were not short sleeves. just an observation.
Why was Lisbon not phased at all when she found out Haffner was "dead?" She told him to go there, he "dies" and she doesn't even blink...
Also, when Jane kills the sheriff, he blinks that he was sorry he killed Jane's family. Anyone else NOT buying this? I think it would have been a clue to Jane that the sheriff was not rj. because the rj they portrayed on this show would never be sorry. would never call 911 for help or beg for his life. it's a cop-out for the writers to just say, oh we're showing he was just human after all. that is one of the biggest lies of all-time. doesn't fit. doesn't satisfy. doesn't work. and people wonder why we are crushed by this lame ending? I wonder why they wonder.

I had a lot more ideas like i'm sure we all do, so instead of making this as long as war & peace, I'll end here for now. my apologies if any of these ideas have been stated before, there's just so much content on this site and I've read a lot of it, but I haven't read it all. I welcome your comments on any of this info though.

i just wanted to say also, i know a lot of people make fun of us for analyzing this storyline, but after a 5+ year investment in a brilliantly written show, I think it screws with our psyches when we get invested in trying to solve this mystery and then get such a big letdown and all these unanswered questions with a what seems to be a cop-out from the writers. (unless they are going to answer the questions by the end of the season...hopefully! yes i'm probably dreaming).

so I get it and I empathize with all of you and feel much the same. some people are just more analytical by nature and are therefore more attracted to shows like the mentalist. some people can let go more easily. but for the very analytical people, it can be a strength when figuring out things and solving mysteries, But also it can be kind of a bummer when so many loose ends are hanging around and we get a lackluster explanation. (or none at all). we want at least the big questions answered in a satisfying way. 

Bruno H. should hire some of us as consultants! There are a lot of super cool theories on here! Of course I'm partial to the Haffner ones but I've seen a lot of creative thinkers on here and I'm happy there's a place to go and discuss the show.
