THE THEORIES

SPOILER:

One more thing I don't know if this is a spoiler or not it's more of a question
But didn't someone say that because the photo's of Haffner and Stiles were on the board that they were likely to be dead? It would make sense since we know that bertram and reede is alive.

I don't know why people are disappointed if Red John is Bertram, I think it's genius. Yes he has been under Jane's Nose but we haven't really seen that much interaction with him. Apart from his physical appearance ( yes would have been better if he was younger like RAY), he has been the perfect Red John. He hasn't shown any weakness apart from being a bad poker player WHICH by the way, he probably faked to get a little closer to Jane...remember he dropped that important phone call that he didn't have time for ...FOR Jane. His eyes are dark, something really creepy about him.

His grand entrance, not afraid to be in the limelight. He said he heard GREAT THINGS ABOUT JANE. Jane asked him why he was there when they first met. He got a weird vibe, knew there was something up with him. He has been shown to favor Jane over lisbon at times. He hired him back when she was still dismissed. He probably didn't kill lisbon because he likes the set up between them. Lisbon keeps him in his job close to Bertram. Killing Lisbon and putting him off the rails at this time would be disruptive.

the meeting between the TT members. Well it is obvious NOW when he said " we should discuss this in private" he probably thought that Jane figured it out. HE was the one in charge.
he was the first on the scene in 6x01 with lisbon. he would have got/given the tipoff and have gotten the call for backup. He was in a good position of power.

He is tall and he stutters sometimes. Yes he is bald but everything else adds up.
He never denied being Red John unlike the sheriff. Did I see Stiles looking at him briefly when he said " what one of us in this room"? I think I did.

Most of all it's genius because he is a man in power and red John would have to be in power to be able to recruit so many and to be always a step ahead.

lastly someone mentioned that redjohn would be foolish to wear a ring and get recognized...well I say that that scene with him sipping tea that was for us to see not anyone in the mentalist, therefore he does wear a ring.

Bertram is as good as any to be red john and the more I watch his scene the creepier he gets.
Yes I think maybe Ray would have been better physically but maybe I am being shallow lol just thank bloody god that it is isn't REEDE SMITH. I don't think I could stomach that.

I can't figure out Brett Though why kill Brett? Did Brett find something..DNA. What do the pigeons mean or do they mean anything. Anyway, it's pretty definite that it's Bertram.  There is one episode left there is no time to bring anyone back from the dead. I can't wait to see the reveal now.

I have trouble with the Bertram idea. According to the TV Guide thing and the history of the show Patrick has a weird almost kinship with the RJ. They are kind of cut from the same cloth and there is a connection even when RJ gets killed. I've never seen the connection with Bertram. He just seems like a hard nosed boss that tires of Jane. I can see him as part of Tyger/Tyger but I can't see him as RJ because I don't see a Bertram/Jane closeness.

I believe Bertram's "I am many things to many people" explains a lot. Bertram is the leader of Tyger, Tyger but they don't know that he is also RJ. He has disciples that know him as such and as the leader of Tyger Tyger it would be pretty easy to find disciples from that pool of corrupt people. So he leads a kind of triple life as the CBI Director, the Tyger, Tyger leader and RJ.

I also believe Partridge is one of his disciples and a member of Tyger, Tyger. He had to die in the first episode of season 6 because PJ has narrowed it down and RJ doesn't trust Partridge to stand strong against PJ. Since he can identify RJ Partridge had to die. This theory would also explain the incongruities we have with RJ's description and Bertram's description. Partridge was the one that Harker knew and possibly also the one that killed Rebecca.

On IMDb we can see the cast of the 2 next episode and the actor woho plays Gale Bertram is the only one of the list that appears in the cast.

I believe that the show is gearing up towards a reveal of Bertram. However, based on other clues, I think some other ideas work better:

McAllister: born in 62-3, would make him 25-6 in 88, i.e first killing when he was an adult. He also would easily smell like pine, per Rosalind. Boots may be a hint.

Haffner: Better association with Visualize, and being born in 1967, he would be 21 in 88, so maybe the barn killings were a rite of passage.

I think at this point we have to assume "he is mar," is he is marked. With the PJ and RJ relationship innuendo's I have no problem thinking that while not sexual, perhaps RJ does take off his clothes to kill.

Bertram does fit in with "Cold" as per the Wikia explanation, but I think there is a better solution there. I hope we get some flashback episodes to explain it all.
