THE THEORIES

ahhh... bugger.

Well, it's over now, nothing more to be said, but really? Not only is Red John literally the opposite of anything I, or apparently Patrick Jane, had expected, but Jane also killis him?

This'll sound a bit cliched, but here's MY perfect ending:

Jane is genuinely hopeless, he's lost, there's nothing more he can do, other than to hope that one day he will know the identity of Red John. He's in the wreckage of his old house, sitting in the room where it all began, thinking about the past, the present and the future... then suddenly, that eerie voice, the one he hadn't dreamt of ever hearing again comes from behind: "Hello Patrick." He whirls around to see a man, his age, handsome but arrogant looking (the son of Brett Stiles did someone mention?), smiling amusedly at him, "It's been a long time coming my friend." Jane stands staring at him for a moment, transfixed; he knows who this is. Then a length dialogue, something quite akin to Strawberries and Cream's Red John scene. This man is likeable, yet detectably callous, insensitive, often referencing the loss Jane experienced at his hands.

The one thing which I'd keep from Heller's ending is the line, "It's over, I've won."

Then Red John gives Jane the final ultimatum; make peace, or die. Jane (obviously) chooses death.

With a sigh of sadness, not frustration, RJ pulls out a gun, "Have it your way..." But Jane is ready for him grabbing his own gun from his pocket, shooting RJ in the leg.

Laughing hysterically, RJ says, "It was always going to be you or me, wasn't it?"

"Yes."

Jane stares into his eyes, holding his gaze for a long moment, before slowly lowering his gun.

"What, after all this pain, suffering, you're too weak to kill a man?"

The answer is slow, measured, "No... I have no weakness like that... But the game is over, it's over because I say it is..."

He turns, and walks down the hall, the camera staying focussed on the kneeling RJ, capturing the look of shock and anger on his face. He turns his gun on the retreating figure of Jane, but can't seem to find the will to pull the trigger. Slowly, furiously, he turns the gun upon himself, staring into the barrel.

A gunshot is heard as Jane leaves the front door, and a small smile can be seen on his worn face.

Ahhh Bruno, Jane didn't care about whether he was cleverer than Red John or not, he only wanted to see his face and beat him, truly beat him, something which merely killing him would never accomplish... oh well, back to Sherlock...

Dear Whoisredjohners,

It has been a pleasure logging in each week after a mentalist episode and reveling in the company of passionate followers of the series. As we all have come to realize that Bruno Heller has fucked us all with his mediocrity and has insulted not only our intellect but our emotions for the last 5 years, I say it is high time we write him a letter stating our disappointment with the entire crew and request an apology. No writer/director should be allowed to get away with this.

I have gained utmost respect for some of the whoisredjohn members whose theories are far more superior than those of the entire crew combined. Personally, I am very agitated for having been rewarded with such a lousy finale to my journey. In my heart, Brett Partridge shall always remain the true Red John.

And the sad thing is: I'll still watch this show until the end of the universe. Now matter how fucked up 6x08 was.

The saddest part is that these guys will get away with this shit ending. However, TV is a sector and shows are products. Naturally, we are the consumers. When you buy a pair of waterproof boots, you are promised that those boots will not absorb water. If they do, you just go back to the store (or if you bought it with a distanced purchase i.e.: online, you just post them back) and ask for a replacement or money re-fund. But when a TV product fails to fulfill the promised properties, you just grab your ass to ease the pain.

There must be new regulations in consumer protection law covering TV shows as well. Only then we will see perfect endings and non-discrepant storylines along with reveals. I'd love to see Bruno in the court making a plead for himself and we on the other hand attending as witnesses, and the 6x08 as the concrete evidence. GUILTY as hell!!!

The McAllister's personality and psycho doesn't match to RJ , and there are lot of episodes left. Any child knows like season 3 that the sheriff couln't be the brilliant, the masterpiece, the genius of RJ. RJ wouldn't say and act like that, his psycho is well defined through these 6 seasons and McAllister was about to tell Jane when he named the LIST, is the key.

The Mentalist finished the last episode from the third season.
That's all.
Even a child can write and do that sixth season without explaining anything.

Timothy Carter was Red John, Strawberry and cream was the last episode of the Mentalist.

Red John saying sorry for killing Jane's wife and daughter?
Come on

I've just seen the first episode when Sheriff McCallister appears and I'm sorry but I can see him as Red John. When he loses against Jane playing at Rock, Paper and Scisors it's so pathetic.

I bet all the money you want that Heller didn't knew who was Red John, all the sixth season has been ridiculous.
Heller that's an advice for your next idea, choose the killer before giving clues, you have to know who's gonna be the killer before doing the first episode, and you didn't.

What if Red John never was revealed as a person, what if he always would be like the "old RJ" when he was just the serial killer behind that mask.
That would have been better than this shit we got.
