THE THEORIES

I want to congratulate everyone here, even if you didn't choose McAllister as Red John. Most of us knew after the promo and the Bertram Episode (no way was he gonna be Red John)  that it was the Sheriff.

Which does leave a lot of us disappointed, we were pretty much spoon fed who Red John was in the last episode no real twists or anything. It was impossible for McAllister's body to be burnt to a crisp, he was standing next to Patrick and Bertram and the bomb didn't touch them.

Now us Mentalists (the people who used this site) are in want of one last trick. Something that gives us closure. There is a 97% chance this won't happen, but what if McAllister wasn't Red John? Red John hypnotized him to make him believe he was Red John. One last ditch effort to get Jane of his tracks, through all his right hand disciples at Jane so he can escape. This would mean its like Mashburn or CBI Ron it really wouldn't matter as long as they summed up all the clues and made it fit.

I feel that's the only way to salvage the Red John storyline from a dexter/lost ending. No one expects this now, it would make Bruno Heller an equal to Joss Whedon. An epic ending yet to come, like Angel and Firefly/Serenity. All these recent interviews about finding out who red John is? And the leaked episode (which was the same) an EPIC ploy by a GREAT MAN HELLER.

One can only hope. Unlikely but most of us would love this. Hell I'd even take Partridge as being Red John, faked his own death to be in the clear and is free to continue murdering. Sure it could be two years from now the next episode, Red John may take that long for the heat to die down before committing more murders. Then somehow Jane notices a similarity in one of the new murders, believes Red John is back from the grave (McAllister who its not) and feels like he is losing it/going  crazy.

Please comment let me know what you think, would you like something like this? Like the beginning of Scream 4 we think we knows what's happing 2-3 times but we don't. We need something epic (Wes craven is a tier or two below Joss Whedon for me right now if McAllister is Red John with no more explanation, Bruno Heller is on the bottom of my pyramid.

So...quick recap:

September 2013
Heller: "I hope people are satisfied and hope it's a great, fun conclusion to that particular aspect of the show. But you can only do your best and put it out there. I know that everyone here is happy and pleased. Sometimes you're forced to hate the conclusions or the wrapping things up in silly, absurd ways or in fact — naming no shows — it turns out they didn't have any idea how they were going to end the show or what the secret was or why there were pygeons ...uhmm I mean polar bears. We have the answers and it's very important to us, for those people who have been following us from the start, to reveal not in a series of cryptic moments that leave a lot of questions begged. We're going to tell the story and explain who Red John is and what happened and what is going to happen as clearly as possible because the audience deserves that."

Latest interview:
Heller: "There is a great deal of [backstory], if anyone waned to ask those questions, I’d be happy to answer. There’s a lot of questions about motivations and what [Red John] was doing and when and how… It makes for great Internet fodder, but it’s not very entertaining for a weekly TV audience."

...

What the actual f*** went wrong in your head in these 2 months, Bruno Heller??
There were so many ways in which season 6 could have been epic. Instead you say it would not have been very entertaining.

Sad to say I probably won't we sticking with the mentalist until the end of the season. I feel like I was screwed real bad.

I'll just go watch Hitler's reaction, listen to Bach and drink some tea.

Tyger Tyger.

It can't be McAllister? that's just to easy.. There must be someone who is in charge, someone you never notice ? what about the women who interred the church? she's gone when the FBI interred the church.. Later in the show you'll watch her walk way close by the FBI cars. There is much more, I think!

The sheriff isn't smart enough, RJ wouldn't just die like that, not after all this time.. If RJ is so smart and PJ have been searching for 10 years, why should he reveal himself just like that? I think RJ is much smarter than that. Don't hate, just my thoughts.

Just a fancy thought:

What if Red John uttered his grand words "the game is over and I won"and then shoots himself in the head?

I know it sounds absurd and serial killers usually do not commit suicide, but I wonder how Jane would have felt about it. No more personal revenge for him, ever. Would he bend over Red John and try to reanimate the man? Maybe he would, but it's too late, and then, while thinking about the final lovescene of Romeo & Juliet, he also kills himself.

Afterwards a dove and a pigeon slip by.

Just watch Sherlock (miniseries). It will make you forget all about this stupid Red John. If only Jane hired Sherlock, it would've been over in under a season.

For starters I'm utmost disappointed with the final episode, as I'm sure a lot of us true fans are. I just can't get the people "liking" this episode. And what I can stand less, is the people that crave to see "some action" between Jane and Lisbon, i cringe every time I hear or read the word "Jisbon" (I'm cringing right now as I write it, damn), hell, the last thing I tuned in for watching this show was the romance; in fact, I hoped there will be no romance between them, because that will just destroy the image of the show. This show is not about romance, it's a crime show, it's about a man with phenomenal mind prowess in a search for revenge and justice for the death of his beloved wife and daughter. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate romance or drama, but for god's sake, if you search for romance just go and watch a drama show, there at a crap load of them. But don't watch a serie about serial killers and murders and hope there will be a Romeo and Juliette side story to it, that 's just misplaced and plain stupid.
Sorry for the rant. But understand that I'm on tremendous amount of anger and mixed feelings which the damned last episode just triggered. I even felt sorry for Red John at some point which normally wouldn't even be considered, seing as the man was portrayed in previous seasons... But I guess Heller, ultimately, wanted his super vilain to die as a miserable man, and not live up to the legend that was Red John. By that he destroyed his character, along with ours hopes, and any future prospective that we will ever watch this show again.
Farewell my friends, that was a real pleasure reading your theories and thoughts, some of them were by far better than the dull ending we witnessed.
