THE THEORIES

The creators of How I Met Your Mother announced after the significant backlash of the series finale, that an alternate, completely different ending was edited and will be included in the DVD box set.

This is an obvious milking move on their part but one can't argue that they at least listen to their fans.

Some other creators could learn a thing or two.

And with that, I resign myself from the fan base of this now godawful show. Out of all the ways Heller could possibly have fucked his franchise up, this is the worst. I used to have faith that this blunder was leading into the long con, or at the very least was a noticeable faux pas on Heller's part, but I guess this is what happens when you have a pool of aspiring writers and directors -- everyone gets their input but eventually things fall apart. Yes, this is a show about Patrick Jane...However, the second most important mechanic to the show is Red John. In the very first episode, after Jane, Red John is the enigma that gripped many of us. A long time ago I said "the death of Red John is the death of the show" and if Heller did not orchestrate the reveal very carefully, he will only hasten the poison that is eroding the series. I'm all fine and dandy with the change in the direction of the series, but only if the reveal is actually worthy of the six-odd years we've spent waiting. Here's the thing, though, it's not that I just 'disliked' the reveal personally, it's that the least amount of effort possible went into it.

The betrayal ISN'T that Mcallister is purportedly Red John. The betrayal is that Mcallister makes NO SENSE as Red John given the many clues that have been scattered throughout the course of the series. Mcallister does not fit as Red John at all. Seriously, name one significant clue that makes Mcallister Red John, and even if you can manage that, tell me how the other major clues fit into the equation to rightly point to Thomas Mcallister as Red John. Face it, Heller created this grand mythos only to throw it away in favor of money, which he in his many asinine states of mind believes he will gain more of if he appeases the Jisbon. But do you want to know something funny? He probably isn't even going to do that. Jisbon ain't happening. He is going to tease the prospect then completely disappoint that end of the fan base as well.

Heller needs to clarify why Mcallister is Red John, because he is the least likely suspect. It was puzzling to me why he was a suspect in the beginning at all. I will say this once more for the idiots who are saying to simply "move on". Anyone else on Jane's list would have fit Red John better than Mcallister, and this is not an opinion, based on the facts portrayed throughout the series, many will agree that this is fact, and Heller, for some reason or another, didn't appear to care who it was. He drew names from his british hat. The only reason why he isn't giving Red John any closure or references is simple; he can't. He fucked up too badly. So badly, he wants people to forget about it. I am happy to oblige.

OH WELL. At least there is BBC's Sherlock, a show with writers who actually fucking care about the quality of their series, albeit it takes them a few years to make each season, they make it worth it. I seriously warn the webmaster of this site to shut this down, it is time to move on, because even I can see no one in production gives a shit anymore. The best thing to do right not is boycott the series. Maybe I will watch the final few episodes one day just to see how it all ends before the series is cancelled, but all I hope now is that a competent writer purchases the rights to the series if Heller is willing to sell.

I do know one thing though, the next time I see Heller's name on any creative endeavor, I will immediately walk away from it if only for the betterment of my health. You would all do well to follow this resignation. Save yourselves some heartache, it all ends now.

Read this in Heath Ledger's Joker voice:

You post an illogical, full of holes theory, and nobody panics.

You post for people to move on, and everyone loses their minds!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEBFK9koVW4#aid=P9tgPWUoW8Y Who was the guy at the playground they show after they play the red john sound(yawn)? When he is jogging the music changes and turns into a horror sound when the camera goes the playground. Why would they do that? There has to be a reason for the creepiness.

Not a theory, more like a grudge:

This is a post from a Mentalist fan on an article discussing its potential cancellation:

POST-----------------------
Jisbon should have happened along time ago but no so what do the Dumb creator/creators do ''OK RJ is gone now let's give Lisbon a love interest'' Stupid Idiot's.Jane is Lisbon's love interest and visa versa since Season 1 and yet nothing at all for all of these what 5 to 6 years of 6 seasons with what about 22 to 23 episodes per season..What do Jisbon shippers get after waiting all those Years of not just waiting but still following along with each episodes story nothing maybe a O I love you Jane O I love you too Lisbon and maybe a Kiss then walk off in to the sunset. ( Boring, Stupid, Dull, Pathetic, Dumb, Pointless. etc etc ) I didn't ship for just a I love you and maybe a kiss it's been 6 Seasons and that's all we get. This Show can get cancelled it doesn't deserve another Season Dumb creators not giving Shippers anything for Years now.Bye Bye Mentalist.
