THE THEORIES

Red John is a single killer who has evolved into an organizational serial killer, all who have the three dot tatoo, (and others, and even fakes and wanna-be's) .  He started out at the old Visualize ranch, (perhaps Stiles or son), and Visualize is still the backbone of moral support.  Many cops are Visualize church members, and they recruit others throughout the country, giving the organization Red John great knowledge and ability, on short notice, in any location (like Tijuana).

Timothy Carter was not speaking falsely when he identified himself as Red John.  Red John is many individuals.  Red John cannot be killed, because the idea behind Red John is justified killing according to each members interpretation of justification.

Theresa Lisbon was a personal target of a Red John because she is the written rule of law, not personalized justice killing, and because the crucifix she wears offends a major Red John.  Jane would be a valuable Red John which is why his recruitment was attempted.

it doesn't make sense to pay attention to such nuances as where PI's eyes
look when the door opens, or such. The show seems to contain a lot of
incosistencies, far greater than if her eyes looked up or down. They
just put a random actor for that scene. Don't expect that level of
attention to detail, not from this show. It is also pretty obvious that
the identity of Red John was not decided upon the start of the series. The maximum I hope for is that the writers knew what was going to happen in the running season, so in S01e01 they may knew what would happen till the end of that season (regarding the RJ case I mean), in s02e01 what was going to happen in second season etc. In order to make the season interesting and to keep up going regarding the RJ case, they threw in clues throughout the seasons without a master plan, and now that the time for the reveal has come, they just don't add up. Don't get me wrong here: I still enjoyed the series, just saying that when you make an inter-season arc, you must have a masterplan in the beginning that encompasses the whole proceedings so that everything heads to an unexpected, well thought out dramatic finale.
Anyway, I hope the writers manage to explain the unexplainable in these last few episodes, and who knows, we may even get a surprise.

In my opinion i do not believe that red john killed the p.i that bugged cho. Red john said in the season finally i do not like cheap imitations of my work, its 1. Hard to believe its more than one person 2. Yes red john has many friends i highly doubt a very intelligent person like red john would use the 3 dot symbol like hey this is us 4. Out of all the words in the world why would he use tyger tyger its just not that intelligent of a word to be used from somebody that has eluded patrick jane for 6 years. If bruno heller in the end makes it out to be that red john is the leader of tyger tyger thats not such a great plot a, red john has killed about 30 ish people over 12 years do you think he would easily give a clue like a three dotted tattoo away so easily, what gets me is red john yes has friends but what happens when patrick gets close they either commit suicide or get killed by red john why would red john say hey jane i know the list here it is by the way 3 of the 7 people on that list have tattoos if i was red john i would kill all of them it does not make any sense. As far as who red john is i have no clue it could be any man or women. Yes a lot of people are ruling out women and partridge but the way this show is no one is off the radar. Fyi i would not trust rosalind harker for a blind women who never leaves the house she sends a pretty good letter remember the s1 ep9 flame red the boy does pretty good at playing mentally disabled 2 more weeks and the truth will be revealed lets just hope heller does not f it up.

Wow @ the TV Guide reveal, and not in a good way. I can't believe they just made all that public. He's on the list and the actor thought he'd been a red herring. Stiles, anyone?

This show is just so poorly written it's quite incredible they managed to gatue suxh an audience.

So there's going to be zero inventiveness, twist or originality to the end of one if the longer sagas in recent television. Thanks, Heller, bang up job.

This is just an idea I'd like to throw out there, but I keep thinking RJ holds too much ongoing interest in PJ for it just to have been sparked by a tv appearance that offended. I think there may be some connection to PJ's dad, so how about PJ has an unknown sibling? (Or similar childhood rival that PJ didn't even realize was a rivalry). His father didn't exactly seem the most honorable & responsible man. Maybe PJ was better at making the money, the other child was abandoned (or ignored, unclaimed, etc), leaving him/her (likely male, yes, but not definite), with lifelong bitterness toward PJ, & a STRONG DESIRE TO TAKE FROM PJ JUST AS PJ "took" (the father's attention) FROM HIM.
Also, most important, a lifelong driving need to PROVE TO ALL (HIMSELF, PJ, & THEIR FATHER-dead or alive) THAT HE (RJ) IS THE BEST, BRIGHTEST, ETC, NOT ----PJ----. If RJ did build up the three dotted tattoo (that tattoo was meant to be seen by victim, normal clothes cover it, only a tank top would show it--off) tyger-tyger organization, again, proof he is the best, better than PJ at it all. PJ confesses his lies after family deaths, tries to make right, etc. Joins law enforcement (even if began as selfish, he helps many), now RJ shows he can not just join (did he?), but can amass a secret organization thru the highest branches (CBI, FBI, HOMELAND, etc) successfully. RJ seems to never want to leave PJ's life. He is beyond obsessed. I think RJ is more obsessed than PJ is. There is an interesting idea, WHY?
Childhood can dig deep needs that cannot be reasonably filled later. There are an awful lot of questions about the carnival, about PJ's past, his dad, all that, left unanswered. Red herring? Sure, possible. But what a crazy ass denoumont (sp?) that would be, right? If the family from the past angle came back, it would SHOCK PJ. (Maybe Kirkland's story of his childhood begins the reintroduction into old pasts coming back)
& others have mentioned the Barlows (I think that was the name in the carnival community associated with psychics, yes? Anyway, what if there is a half sibling by PJ dad who is born of a Barlow? What if all those years back, there was a sibling (as postulated above), that actually WAS psychic or something, but because PJ could "sell" it better, the dad chose him as favorite. & some within carnival community resented that treatment of another child, thus the comment quoted in another theory about "only Barlows being real psychics" or something like that.
It just seems RJ has taken many unnecessary risks by staying so very involved with PJ's life all these years. Must be driven by something. He already 'won' by taking PJ's wife & child.
Ok, I am no expert on this, just had a thought & wanted to share. One more thing. I know "Red John" is probably self-given nickname. But when writing RJ & PJ over & over, same last initial. Prob means nothing. Maybe RJ is trying to force PJ to remember --& confront within himself-- the possibility that another child existed & suffered as PJ got the adoration of the father. PJ then threw away his fathers attentions, which would only further enrage one who had coveted & been denied those very attentions.
One more thing, I agree something is strange about recent explanation by Bob Kirkland re: his own motive & how much he spends on talking in detail about a father & twin & how awful it all was. Makes sense RJ came from either sadistic or less than loving home. & I'm not convinced Bob is dead. Probably, but poss of bullet proof vest? I know, that's reaching :). Just interesting he is/was a twin (could he suspect his twin became RJ & feels duty bound to end it bc he never did get his "close" twin out of the dad's house?), he was a twin & in many ways PJ & RJ have become flip sides of a coin?
Btw, Rosalind's word is taken too much as truth, & even if she is telling the truth as she knows it, there are many ways a woman can pretend to be a man in bed & successfully trick someone (it CAN happen), plus they never really LIVED together, which would make it easier to fake. & there are plenty of redheads in the show, esp women. With Irish background, could there have been a red headed mommy back in the day? & Stiles is white haired now, what was he 20 yrs ago, he already has a (real?Faked?) accent from the same island (British & Irish) , etc. I do think there is some crazy strange attachment between Stiles & PJ that PJ is unaware of.
Ok, sorry so long. Just some ideas. Please tear them apart, I'm interested in anyone's ideas. I wonder if we all looked closer at the tyger poem, if it would help more.
