I like the popular Brett Partridge theory that has gathered many plausible hits. It's well noticed and actually seems very likely to be true. It's that kind of perception why I come to websites like this one. The fishing hat thing and Patrick only mentioning two murders was nicely picked up, kudos.
In case it isn't Partridge, how do you fellas comment on the behaviour of Gale Bertram in the tattoo scene? When you look at him as a character throughout the series, he does seem like a red herring the actor was talking about in the TV Guide article. He has a presence, powerful position, whistles well, and in that scene after PJ and Lisbon exit his office upon inviting him to Patrick's house, not only is Lisbon's face different, but Bertram suddenly uses this soft voice to speak to whomever was on the other side of the line. He looks more worried than the others after the meet and whistles prior to placing the call. Also, he isn't necessarily calling someone he's supposed to keep in the loop - he may be calling a minion who will help get to the bottom of things. He has the tattoo, as well, though I am not sure that signifies.
During the tattoo scene, Bertram is trying the hardest to calm PJ down and make him drop the whole thing, while after his should is revealed his stare is blank and empty and definitely looks creepy. I don't know if anyone noticed, but you can go back to the moment when the camera shows the tattoo on his shoulder. Incidentally, he's also the last one to reveal the tattoo.
Also from before, after Lorelei tells Patrick about the handshake, there's a scene where Jane bumps into Kirkland at the office, they quickly shake hands and go about their business while the camera stays put and shows a picture of Bertram on the office wall, literally moments after the handshake. I've never seen anybody mention this moment before, which I found odd.
Anyway, has it been confirmed that we get a double dose of the show on Sunday or is it just speculation? It would be mighty cool of CBS to give us a two-parter, to close the Red John saga in a marathon.
Another strike against Haffner is that he doesn't appear until season 4. Bruno Heller stated unequivocally that we would see RJ's face in season 3 which, to me, rules out anybody introduced afterwards, namely Smith and Haffner.
I liked Haffner as Rj for a quick moment but after the last two episodes I
would hate it. He just came off as an idiot in The Red Tattoo and in
Fire and Brimstone he came off as flat scared. Neither of these traits sits well with me for the RJ character. And I don't buy that he was just acting to throw off PJ. I have a hard time seeing RJ the narcissist present himself the way Haffner did in ANY situation.
Plausible = you'll be joining us back here to celebrate after the Reveal!
I feel guilty about not submitting an actual theory. But not too guilty! I've checked this website on odd occasions in the past, moreso since the start of season 6, always hoping we'd identify Red John before the reveal. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the fans who posted great, entertaining and oddly hilarious theories!
I honestly thought we'd never figure out who Red John was before the reveal. I mean I always thought there's so much information out there, its probably designed so that any one of them could be Red John.
I mean if you check most theories, you'll see:
- Funny jokes :P
- Which actor the theorist love the most
- Biased deductions... "He's way too fat, he's too nerdy, he's too obvious."
"Biased" because every one of those deductions theories had a different suspect, haha!
- 2-sided never ending arguments about fake lists and resurrections
There's nothing wrong with any of those and I really do enjoy reading people's opinions, but those theories never really got us an inch closer to Red John.
So today when I saw this theory purely about the story, it was refreshing. But there's more... I feel for the first time, like I KNOW who Red John is, 100%. More importantly, it won't stop me reading any more theories because it's always nice to share perspectives with fellow fans. If you wanted to read the theory I was talking about I've put the link below. I sincerely hope this website still has a purpose after Red John is revealed.

If you do not watch the episode 'Red John' while it's on air, I suggest you not to look at this site. I have a feeling people who are going to watch it on air will spam who Red John is.
Does anyone else find it a little strange that there are only two more episodes with RJ, who is getting killed in episode 8 and then a whole new story without RJ will start? Am I the only one who finds it impossible for Bruno Heller to end this 5-seasons story just like that? I mean what is the point to kill RJ after only 8 episodes and then start a story two years later with completely new plot?
There has been so many open endings, so many clues. Does BH really want to summarize whole 5 seasons in two (probably just one) episodes? Does Bruno really thinks the Mentalist is going to be as great as it was without RJ and PJ relationship?
I hope the TV guide article is a fake. But I don't think is very likely.
Just.. don't dissapoint us, Bruno.
