THE THEORIES

Cmon people I expected more plausible hits to my previous post... Check this out...

Kirkland and Smith meet and there is a black coffee remaining.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKVj-_TAHeQ

Haffner drinks black coffee.

That's why I believe Kirkland is Haffner's client... Haffner works for Kirkland. That's why Haffner always asks about Red John and always say:
"I don't care, I got clients that care".

Yeah clients.... you mean Robert Kirkland! :P

Hope I convinced you this time its a very well hidden clue and it popped to my head by luck!
Trust the subconscious mind!! :D

I would like to open up a poll.

Thesis: Red John is one of the three suspects (McAllister, Smith, Bertram) with the three-dot tattoo.

Vote plausible if you agree with this thesis, vote unlikely if you disagree with this thesis. I would like to see what the general stance is towards this topic.

Not exactly a theory. Just a thought, really.

In an interview, Bruno Heller referred to whatever character is Red John as the "Keyser Söze" of The Mentalist. Anyone who know The Usual Suspects knows that Keyser Söze turned out to be Kevin Spacey‘s character who a con artist with cerebral palsy who in the end was really the sociopath, crime lord Soze himself. We saw Kevin Spacey as one person on screen the entire movie as one person and watched him "transform" during the reveal at the very end of the film.

With that all being said, a lot of character clues will mean nothing if the character is appearing to be that different from who they really are.

Since reading that quote from BH, I feel like there are soooooo many more red herrings out there than we are even expecting. But i do still believe in Jane saying how the answers are always obvious and right in front of us.

I love the quote from Keyser Söze himself, "The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist."

Just some food for thought! :)

only a few hours left until episode 7 airs!

I've found a few more hints right here:

http://www.tvfanatic.com/2013/11/the-mentalist-preview-will-red-john-escape-again/

these are the ones I haven't seen before:

Despite being in an explosion and in the hospital, Jane's hair never looks less than amazing.
Someone utters the dialogue warning, "This is going to hurt."
If you need a reminder where "Tyger, Tyger" comes from, you'll get one.
Some key fixtures of the show do not survive the episode.
A big change happens in the final scene that will make things more difficult for our team moving forward.

Bonus info about post-RJ mentalist : Emily Swallow was cast as a series regular and will appear in episode 9 for the first time.

Cheers :)

19th & 20th Century:  The BUTLER did it!

21st century:  The CREEPY FORENSICS GUY did it!

Bret Partridge as Red John would be the BIGGEST "untwist" CBS ever produced [otherwise known as the "ass pull" on tvtropes -- you know, like out of your ass because the writer can't be creative enough]

HERE'S SOMETHING DIFFERENT:

Bret Partridge fancies himself a Sherlock Holmes type, though Jane outwits him at every turn -- BP is book and fact smart but lacks mentalist skills and knows it -- and he looked like he was gonna cry in Desert Rose -- clearly BP seeks Jane's approval.

I would DARE say BP might actually be one of the GOOD GUYS who might have been conducting his own mini-investigation on the side.  Mostly, it seems he was killed BUT if BP faked his own death -- he did it to avoid RJ or to help CATCH RJ.
Now THAT would be a good twist since it's expected that THE CREEPY FORENSICS GUY DID IT!

OMG OMG OMG!!! I was just watching 6x04 and this popped to my head!Remember when Kirkland met Redee in the park and he was holding 3 coffees? Actually he said: "What do you want? I got black, milk, milk and sugar" and he touched the milk and sugar coffee before Redee tells him that he wants that so he knew that he was gonna get that and there are 2 coffees remaining, milk and black. Kirkland takes the second coffee which is milk and now he has black coffee remaining Can you remember you was drinking black coffee?Raymond Haffner.

When Raymond haffner met Lisbon at 6x06 he ordered coffee, black coffee. That's what makes me believe that Kirkland was going to meet Haffner right after Redee Smith and what business they got together?Raymond always asks Lisbon about Red John progress and he always say that he doesn't care but he has clients that care. Got it?!
Kirkland is one of Raymond's clients. Haffner worked for Kirkland and i bet that Kirkland paid thim so he can feed him with Red John info.

Of course that doesn't mean that Haffner can't be Red John but it means he is one of the clear cops thats why he doesnt have the dots, although i dont think that haffner is Red John.

I find it amazing and It just popped to my head right now I'm so excited!!! Haffner working for Kirkland? Who could imagine? And yet all clues where there! :P
