Your want/need for answers regarding Red John are the results of bad writing and directing. Sadly for you, Red John is dead. He was revealed quite some time ago.

You know what will be the last episode?? "RAINBOW world", that's will surely be the title. And the story will be some random shitty investigation just to allow the Jibson romance to finally be over, with Jane and Lisbon kissing and leaving the FBI and living happily ever after.

Bullake Shitsociation, Red John vs. the Scary Pigeon... It's OVER. OVER. OVER. They said it. Numerous times. Patrick Jane said it. Bruno Heller said it. In fact, there is only you who keeps believing about it. You, the "writer". LOL. Blow me, boy.

Who is Red John? That is easy to answer. Red John was Sheriff Macallister. That's right, you already know who it is. The Red John era is done and over. Bruno Heller could not have made it any more clear than he once did. He warned that the identity of Red John would be a disappointment. So of you think it is, some of you do not. Those of you who are disappointed are the people who are looking and hoping for more, pertaining to Red John. Either you miss Red John, you do not like the "new" Mentalist since Red John was killed OR you cannot accept that episode was truly "it".....Red John was revealed, killed and over.

Heller went out of his way to make sure that YOU would know that Macallister WAS indeed Red John.

-You saw the Sheriff actually speak with the Red John voice (yes, I know Baker was the actual voice in the studio)

-Jane said the only way he would be able to confirm Red John's identity is to look him in the eyes and ask him. Which he did!

-After he shot Red John, the scene focused on Jane's face and him muttering "You're Red John"

Jane was convinced Macallister was Red John. Jane killed Red John. That's it!

If you're looking for the end title to have some reference to red or Red John, you're obviously setting yourself up for more disappointment.

The show is not backtracking. It's not going back to anything to do with Red John.

The only thing this show is doing is setting up for it to end, showing that everyone has moved on since the Red John days. Sure, there is plenty of crime to be solved, but anything related to the Blake association, Visualize, Red John is ancient history!

The new Mentalist is whittling the cast down to where they all have moved on!!

The final episode is going to not lead up to a final confrontation with Red John, but with everyone is doing well and moving on with their lives. Not to mention something leading up to Lisbon and Jane getting involved with each other.

Remember, hearts can mean love, too!

My prediction is the finale will be on Jane and Lisbon becoming romantically involved. Not this Red John ship that sailed last November!

Other than being annoyed that it was actually Haibach - I really enjoyed this episode.  There were a few WTF moments but I'm gonna let those slide.  It was just SO MUCH BETTER that the last few weeks that for now I am satisified.

Question though - I don't think they categorically said that Haibach was also behind the other murders - it is just assumed at this point, right?

I have previously mentioned a lot of things about the show that were copied or plain stolen verbatim from other shows.  I recently found another one and I was glad that I stopped watching the Mentalist long time ago.

The 3 dots that BA members all have?  That is a copied as well from a show called Continuum.  In that show, they have them between their fingers, visible when you open your hands and stretch your fingers apart.

I have basically abandoned the show and have not kept up with this site.  Even from the early episodes of this season, it was clear what was happening and how bad the show was going to be but many people were too much in denial to see it; and kept the wild tehories going.  So it is kind of satisfying that more and more people have fallen asleep out of boredom while watching the show, and that they are now finally seeing it for what it has become this season: mediocre acting, silly plots, too many characters, disconnected even within a single episode, with boring execution. 

In an effort to keep the con up until the season's end, they had to resort back to the out-of-the-blue suspense tricks, tucked into the last two minutes of the episodes.  Do you really think there is a logical explanation behind this?  Have you not learned your lesson already?  If so, answer a few basic questions:

1. All CBI members are being killed off one by one, over a long period of time.  No one has picked up on this.  Not the local cops and not the FBI.  Really?

2) In any other cop show even slightly based on reality, this will have FBI squarely focused on solving this with all of its resources available.  Here, they are like, "oh, yeah?  well, we got a tip that some illegal workers are sneaking in from Mexico.  Let's go".  Really?

3) In any other show, the remaining targets would be given protective custody and around-the-clock guards, be moved to hidden location until the case is resolved, etc.  Furthermore, they would be removed from the case.  Here, nope: the two targets are actually given the responsibility to solve the case by the FBI.  Why?  Well, because they got another gas station robbery that resulted in murder.

4) Wait, wasn't this show called the Mentalist?  Ooh, bummer, what to do?  Yes, let's have PJ solve the secret of each character's most hidden desires and have him give them their favorite toy from when they were a child.  What?  We used to show how PJ would know these things?  Well, come on.  They have barely spoken to each other.  Can't we just slowly focus the camera away and play elevator music instead?  Yes?  Great, thanks!

What will happen in tonight's episode?  Do you really think there was any thought put into this?  Do you really think RJ will make a comeback?  If so, dream on.  Better yet, wake up already.  The simple reason is the writers/producers realized that they have essentially doubled the number of characters, in two separate locations.  They got themselves into this mess, and now that they realize it, like some of us did a long time ago, they are trimming the cast down. Nothing more.
