Bruno Heller has already said that PJ is not RJ so thats thats theory done with... end of.

Heller has also said the next season the hunt will be on, there is no twists or turns just hard facts & evidence to finding out who is RJ.  He says we can trust the list, so lets go with that for now,

i am sure that LISBON is def NOT RJ? or working with him. Without her PJ has nothing! like it or lump it this is just the facts of the show, he wouldn't survive that sort of betryal from her, (revenge or no revenge. He just wouldn't.) 
 
The fact is finding out or losing the only thing in his life he cares for, his partner/best friend that would just make PJs story even worse than it already is & despite all the horrfic things that have happened he has survived it & come out the other side and lisbon has been there with him to help him do that.  She also has been bombed, shot, hurt, lost her job nearly serveral times all for him & she would def die for him if it came down to it.  Lisbon ???? I'm sorry but that's even not a very original twist thats just poor. 

AS FOR WHO IS RJ?...  Haffner.. is my front runner for now till we learn more evidence next series.

Caveat: since this is a TV show, assembling an accurate profile on Red John is ridiculously difficult, if at all possible. The information with which the audience has been provided could easily describe several killers. However, for the sake of simplicity, let us assume that Red John's MO is still evolving.

Available data overview:

With this data in mind, my money is on Ray Haffner.

Although all seven remaining candidates do not truly fit the profile, I would reject Partridge, because Red John is extremely sensitive to mockery and Jane has repeatedly ridiculed Brett in front of others. Stiles and McAllister seem likely, but their age would have been noted by Rosalind Harker. Kirkland appears too desperate to obtain Jane's research and does not fit the timeline of Lorelei's video. Smith could become Red John if the writers wish him to; there is virtually no background information concerning his character.

Bertram lusts for power and domination, and quotes William Blake in 3x16, but since Red John has been likened to Jane on numerous occasions, Haffner seems like the more reasonable choice.

Ultimately, all of the remaining suspects appear to be sloppy choices without proper justification. Their interactions with Jane have to be clearly explained or their alternate Red John will seem forced. Unless Jane is actually still in the mental hospital, trapped in a hallucination or some such. 

Were all here trying figure out who RedJohn is but were going about it in the wrong way. So lets talk about Red John for a second. Red John is extremely intelligent and in many ways Patrick Janes equal. He is also referred to as a classic narcissist who hates people who copycat his crimes and belittles him. 
   That being said I think we can safely rule out Reede Smith and Sheriff McCallister. Next we have Brett Stiles. Brett Styles already has power and control over a lot of people. We know that because he owns Visualize and from what we know about Visualize is that its basically a cult. With that type of power and control Stiles has no need to become a serial killer and we know he doesn't match the Red John profile. However we can assume that Brett Stiles has a good idea who Red John is. Based on that Im ruling him out.
     Bob Kirlkland was recently introduced and is a newer character. I also get the sense that Kirkland is more of an vigilante than a serial killer. He has some kind of tie to Lorelie Martins sister hence the reason he killed Jason Lennon asking him " Do you know who I am?" Kirkland figured out that "Roy" aka RedJohn Killed Miranda who Im willing to bet was Kirklands Fiance and that is why Kirkland is not Red John.  
       Brett Partridge is a weird, creepy but soft spoken type of guy. He has a dislike for Patrick Jane but in a I wish I was like him kind of way. He has quoted classic literature like Red John but doesn't seem to have the intelligence and narcissistic attitude like Red John. Could he be Red John? Sure but for now Im ruling him out.
      Gale Bertram was on the top of my list for a long time because of his status and CBI director. He does seem to come across as a bit of a narcissist but not like Red John. Bertram cares about himself yes but is wiling to protect the interests of CBI first. Why? Well if CBI went down on his watch that would reflect on him an look back on his record and hurt his career. He doesn't like Patrick but is willing to use him to get the job done. While he does have the power and connections to be Red John I don't think he would take the chance at hurting his career by being a serial killer on the side. Im ruling him out.
      Now we are left with Ray Haffner. Ray Haffner is a very intriguing guy. As we know Patrick was told by Lorelei that he and Red John are a lot alike. Jane tend to work alone solving cases and Haffner left CBI to start his own security firm. They both have blondish hair and both have ties to Lisbon. Haffner also was a former FBI agent and a member a visualize. He woud also of been the right age and the opportunity to commit Red John's first 2 murders. Remember the whole narcissistic thing I was talking about? Well in one scene Haffner asks Cho if Jane is smarter than him. Red John also has "disciples" who he had to of recruited and Haffner tries to recruit Lisbon by offering her a new job with more money. Many of Red Johns Disciples seem to see him as "God Like" or a "Messiah" like figure. Things Ray Haffner could have learned in Visualize. So with the Narcissism Ray showed, the ties to CBI, FBI and Visualize he is my prime suspect. He also is a former football player and Red John while helping Jane says "Roll Tide." 
    On another note people Red John is brilliant ok. He isn't going to be stupid enough to give himself away by quoting poems or by acting smarter that Jane when he was around him. Red John only tell Jane what he wants him to know and Ray Haffner is the same way. Remember when Lisbon asked him if he was at the barn during the first 2 murders only to have Ray ignore her and ask Lisbon "We are friends right?"    Ray Haffner is Red John.

I think in the last season, there have been enough clues for pretty much anyone on Jane's list to be RJ.

The question isn't "who" anymore, the more important question now is "why" and "how". 

Whoever RJ turns out to be, B. Heller better have a good back-story for him.

Personally, I'm rooting for Ray Haffner or Kirkland. But Kirkland is a little too suspicious, with the "do you recognize me? It's very important" scene, so I'm thinking it's a red herring. 

Brett Patridge is just too goofy in my opinion. I know most theories point to him being RJ, but I'd be very disappointed if it was him. I hope the actor can pull off RJ in that case.

And what's the deal with Lisbon's hand injury being mentioned but never explained and not of any significance? Another red herring?

I just wanted to point out that the actor who plays Ray Haffner is Reed Smith. Reed is so close to Red. Mere coincidence or a clue?

I just watched the Red Barn episode, and now I think it's Ray Haffner.

1. He fits the physical description Rosalind gave, if we assume it to be correct.
2. He is on Jane's list of suspects, if we assume that to be real, complete and correct.
3. He fits the age group, as the "kid" who painted the smiley in the barn.
4. He's a member of Visualize and clearly RJ has some associations with the group- for example, Brett Stiles knew where Kristina Frye was.
5. He offers Lisbon a job and tries to make her detached from Jane, tries to make her think he'd leave. 
6. The most popular suspect is Brett Partridge, and he just seems too obvious, and too "goofy" to be RJ.
