Who is Red John

Since people are asking why RJ would hire a sloppy PI when he could have used his sources to bug CBI, and thus eliminating Bertram, Haffner, etc as suspects because they had access to bug the CBI, my theory is, maybe RJ wanted the PI to be caught. He had convinced her that Visualize was hiring her. Maybe he was trying to create a rift between Visualize and Patrick. But then Patrick talked to Cooper and figured it out. RJ being a Visualize member found out about it. He rushed to kill her before she would identify him. He had limited time and so he couldn't make sure she was dead.
Also, maybe RJ did,murder her in a trench coat like he usually does. Maybe he met her at the gym when he was working out in a vest maybe, and that's when she had seen the tattoo. RJ didn't expect her to pay attention, or that anyone would find out it was him, not Visualize, so he wasn't extra careful. What do you guys think?

To the people who think that RJ and the Tiger Tiger organization are against each other, what's your take on Reed Smith murdering Kirkland then? Why did he kill the guy who was investigating his enemy? It's not like Kirkland was a threat to them, he didn't know about the organization, Smith himself told him before he killed him. So why kill him, if not for RJ?

Not accusing anyone. Just wanted to say, can we PLEASE stop with the RJ is a vigilante, he only kills the corrupt cops, he kills the Tyger Tyger members, etc theories? RJ isn't a Robin Hood kind of character. He's a cold blooded murderer. He killed Jane's innocent wife and poor little kid for no reason! There is absolutely no way whatsoever to justify that. He's just a bad guy. Please accept that and stop posting,theories that try to paint RJ as some kind of misunderstood hero. Thank you!

I don't know who RJ is, but I have theories about other issues:

PATRIDGE IS REALLY DEAD.

Patridge saying Tiger Tiger confirms he was a part of the Tiger Tiger organisation. (He couldn't have been just aware it existed and not a member, RJ doesn't work like that, he would have killed Patridge long ago then.)

Patridge works CSI, so he must have been covering RJ's tracks up till now. So when Heller said Patridge had to die? It's not because he is RJ and wanted himself off the list. (The list had 7 suspects. It's not like Jane had narrowed it down. So why fake his death?) It's because he was going to diverge information about RJ or the Tiger Tiger organisation, or he had made a mistake.

So when he said Tiger Tiger to Lisbon? There are two possibilities:

1. He thought Lisbon was part of the organisation and wanted her to help him live.

2. He was trying to tell Lisbon about the organisation.

VISUALIZE CONNECT:

I'm pretty confident I got this one right.

1. RJ is a member of Visualize. (We've known for long)

2. Visualize has dirty secrets as a cult. The Tiger Tiger organisation covers them up and makes sure the government doesn't shut it off. In return, Visualize assists RJ to cover his tracks.

As a previous theory mentioned the happy face killer, I read about him. He had an abusive alcohol father. Basing my theory on that, could RJ be one of Lisbon's brothers?

For a moment let's ignore the interview where Heller said we can trust the list. I have a question about the CD then. Remember how Lorelei asks Jane to take a look at his list before she reads out RJ's list? Now why would someone as clever as Jane and with as. good a memory make a PHYSICAL list of suspects? Kirkland's men broke in and stole his research. Anyone can do the same, specially someone like RJ. Jane didn't want anyone to know his list, so why would he leave it so vulnerable? And why would RJ think that he will? Now add to the fact that nobody sees what's in the packet that RJ meant for him, the CD is shown in a different scene, there's no hard proof that the CD was in the packet, and that Jane and Lorelei did have enough time to make the video. It seems highly off to me. Even if we can trust the list, can we trust the CD?

Ok, this is a crazy theory, but look at the "He is Man" screen-cap.

Could it have been saying Lisbon? Maybe he didn't actually know RJ's identity/name. Could he have been pointing to her as the person to go to for more information?

The perceived "H" can be the dying man's failed attempts to write an L, after which he gave up and he wrote down a small "l", which we have been reading as "e", the "is" is clearly there. The "m" can be a capital "B" improperly written in a tilted way, the "a" can be "o", with the blood dripping down to make it look like an "a" (look at the "H", "m/b" and "n", the blood is dripping down there too), and then there's "n".

I'm not saying Lisbon is RJ, I'm saying that she may know more than she's letting on- maybe she's a disciple, maybe she's scared of something. Case in point:

1. She and Sam Bosco had some kind of secret, from back before she met Jane I'd assume. That has never been revealed, Bosco is dead now, and I don't think the writers, being so brilliant, would just introduce something like that to the plot if it wasn't relevant. And since it still hasn't been revealed, I'm thinking it's related to RJ.

2, Lisbon's injured hand.
