I think Van Pelt is Red John because , when Patrick thinks that other mediums dont have powers , she does. Dont you remember that Red John killed his wife and his daughter because Patrick didnt believe that Red John had powers?

Many, many great theories have been posted lately for all the suspects, but I want to put the list aside for a moment and share some thoughts not about RJ himself, but some of his accomplices.
Ive been suspecting Van Pelt for a long time. She has red hair, we know very little about her past. We know her father was football coach but thats about it.
Just now I was on a random episode streak and I end up watching s2ep10. The one with the flashback from Janes carnival past. In the episode Van Pelt is talking a women out of suicide by telling the story of her own sister and the bad decision she made by now sharing with anyone and keeping people away (even Grace). This, in my opinion is something that Jane can pull off and look really truthful, but now Grace. But yet she really look honest to me. Later in the episode when Rigsby asked her about her sister, she denied having one and changed the subject.
Also, in one of the episodes (s1ep16 if im no mistaken) Patrick tried to read Van Pelt and said "you're deeply repressed and emotionally shut down... because of a trauma in your past that you've never spoken of to anyone... ever... even yourself" Van Pelt said nothing after.
But the most suspicious think about her is from the flashback episode of Janes 1st day in CBI. When Grace and Patrick met, she looked like shocked for few seconds. Like she knew who he is, and how easy can read people. Also, she got her job in CBI right after Patrick joined aswell. Like she was putted there to keep an eye on him.
This is a very long shot tho, but you never know. Especially after all what happened with Lorelai and her sister, probably thats how RJ works - he kills the people that you love the most to weaken you and then gets under your skin. Didn't worked on Jane, but worked for Lorelai, maybe Grace.
I don't know, I wanted to share something outside the box, different that the 7 list suspects. Hope you dudes can add something.
Cheers.
Just a comment. In the episode "Throwing fire" I think perhaps that the little girl that Jane and Alex were trying to con could possibly have been one of three people.......
Van-pelt's sister: perhaps she was extreamly ill, and had heard about the family crystal and it's "healing powers"..... and maybe this is the "tragedy" Grace was talking about in the past because shortly after her Sister died of the cancer. But then how can she suppress the chance to eliminate and torture Jane?
Also, if you notice in the episode the little girl says to Patrick "Cool shirt." and it does sound a hell of a lot like Grace's pitch and tonality of voice.
Kristina Frye: She is another person who could have been the little girl, she could have been the sick child and perhaps she found treatment later on in life to put her cancer into remission, and she never forgot about what Jane did to her.
Rosalind Harker: perhaps she was the little child who wen't blind, and of course assuming she is actually blind (it isn't proven) she would'nt have recognized Jane's face or body image, but the voice should have been a giver! or maybe she couldn't remember to recognize him!
Also the child was in a wheelchair and taken from a limo to the carnival, perhaps Van-pelt or her sister were from a wealthy dysfuntional family, and perhaps they wanted to get away form it, and i bet you any money one of them or both of them ran into the Visualize cault and had their minds corrupted by Brett Styles!
Let me know what you think!
ok, I am not accusing her of anything but.....does anyone find it a little strange that we know next to nothing about Grace Vanpelt's past? or the tragedy that happened??? I just find it odd that every other team member has a backstory but she doesn't.
We have heard that she had a supposeldy "psychic" sister Yolanda, and that her Father is a Football Coach, but other than that....not much has been said about her history. Have the writers forgotten or thought it was unimportant? don't understand...even Cho got a backstory! everyone has I believe. So then why not Grace? are the writers trying to cover up and secretize something about her past? something bad?? hmmmm.....maybe that "tramatic event" mentioned in one of the episodes was something more sinister and frightening, something no one could wrap their heads around.
I feel like there is something that the writers don't want you to know about Grace van-pelt!
Alos just a thought, in the episode "Red Dawn"at the end of the episode when it came to choose the next rookie, I find it wierd that Rigsby chose grace right away....strange.....well let me know what you think.
In the first episody Patrick handshakes Van Pelt... Very suspicious...
For the record, my brother thinks Red John is Patrick Jane, and it did seem plausible, until I read some of the the other "theorists" feedback. Originally, I thought Red John was the red headed spiritual advisor, but I now move my theory to Grace van Pelt. She acts too innocent- and as Johnn Depp would say - "Evil wears many masks, but none so dangerous as the mask of virtue." She's always around, so sweet, has red hair, and she knows where Patrick Jane is on the Red John investigation. She would have the "last laugh", if it's not Patrick Jane. I have nothing to base it on, really, except gut. I haven't rewatched any of the episodes. But, I welcome feedback and if anyone can prove / disprove my theory let me know.
I try to think about who Red John is but I always just end up thinking how Id like to bang Grace Van Pelt.
