Hahaha. Michael Gaston (who plays Bertram) posted this on his Twitter earlier this week... It's so weird but I got a laugh out of it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4H-R-Ze7wfw#t=44
HAHAHA! I don't know if I'll look at these suspects the same...!

I think it's Gale Bertram. When Patrick first meets Gale (S03E01 I believe) he mentions that he gets a bad feeling about Gale. Additionally, he says that he finds himself compelled to "wind up" Gale Bertram.
And when Patrick confronts the pseudo Red John - Timothy Carter - who is in the mall with Patrick? Gale Bertram.
I swear to God. If it's Reede Smith I will never be the same again. He isn't just right. It's just wrong. It's sad going down this path.
Hey guys, since season 3 : strawberies and cream I have suspected Bertram and with tonights episode I can say that I am very very very sure that Red John is Bertram. When Jane went to see him in his office and tell him to meet him on Thursday... afterwards when Jane left the office you could hear Bertram picking up his phone and making a phone call. When he does so you can hear that his voice is VERY VERY similar to Red John's voice. Not only that but when Jane has them all sitting in the same room and he says one of them is Red John you can see Bertram saying this is ridiculous. You can tell by his look he is slightly worried. Now I am pretty sure that Red John is not Sherif Mcalister, it really seems that he genuinely wants to help Patrick Jane.
Now that was my opinion. But I will go on and play the devils advocate. I'm thinking that the three dots were in fact not an indication of Red John . We know for a fact that those three are part of the Tyger Tyger organisation. We know that the three dots means that precisely. Now maybe the killer who killed the private investigator was NOT red john and was one of these three. Maybe Patrick Jane got it wrong... maybe the person who had hired her was just part of the tyger tyger organisation (one of these three) and is unaffiliated with Red John. Maybe Red John is in fact Haffner or Stiles. Who knows.
Honestly though I really feel like Sherif Mcalister is trying GENUINELY help patrick so I will rule him out completely. Given this episode Bertram is my first choice but Haffner is second.
Red John is:
1- Gale Bertram
2-Ray Haffner
3-Bret Stiles
4-Reed SMith
5-Sherif Mcalister
Let me know what you guys think
Anyone else disappointed with tonight's episode?
On the preview for the episode 6 we could see the meeting room with all 5 suspects and the explosion, so I was hoping for an incredible fast-paced episode.
Don't get me wrong here, the episode was good IF you didn't see the preview. Who the hell shows the last scene of an episode at the preview? You have 43 effing minutes on the episode, why do you need to use the last 5 seconds on the preview? Using an episode's cliffhanger on the preview for that episode is an all time low, that's plain cheating if you ask me.
I couldn't enjoy tonight's episode because I was waiting for the meeting and the explosion all along when actually it was a rather slow-paced episode. (which is ok, as long as they don't try to cheat on the preview)
Pretty annoying that they're going down this route. Explains why only Bertram and Smith are set to appear in the next 2 episodes though. McAllister must have been the man who was shot, Haffner and Stiles are eliminated because they didn't have the offending tattoo.
Of the 2, my guess is Bertram. We've seen Smith commit crimes onscreen, we've started to learn a lot about him. Bertram is still a mystery though, interestingly he is yet to display any signs of a phobia, so maybe that'll appear next episode? Bertram is more sophisticated than Smith, he seems a man who would appreciate some decent piano playing. Though again the question remains. Why was Smith giving orders to Bertram, and if Bertram is RJ, why didn't he just kill Smith for disrespecting him? RJ has killed for less.
Basically the writers have turned this into an almighty clusterfuck, the clues are making it harder to solve, rather than easier, and are leaving poor suspects as the only suspects.
I've just always had a gut feeling it was him.
