THE THEORIES

If there's one thing I'd like to stress out is : how Patrick insisted and stated repeatedly that he truly wants for Lisbon to be happy.

Twist : He knows she will be hurt, by him ... by this fake relationship ... but he had to do so, because he wants her to be trully happy. Most likely there's not much to Mr.Pike, besides the fact that Jane must think for some reasons that he's a douchebag. Secondly, letting his friend go, the one that has been marked by RJ , into other city - to stay alone with a douchebag is not true happiness - that's why he couldn't let her go.

Hey Stoopkid, as much as i appreciate your optimism about Red John returning............. i highly doubt it's gonna happen. The fuckhead Heller had 14 episodes after episode 8 to mention Red John or all those important people he killed off-screen  but he didn't even breath a word of it. Only in that lame as fuck "con-trial" was Red John even mentioned. You see, he gave not one explanation about his clues and killed all of the past characters so that we will never be given an explanation.

Don't get me wrong i want Red John back.

Not only is Bruno Heller at fault, but Simon Baker and Robin Tunney are just as guilty as him. The both of them have enough power to change the direction of the show before filming starts. If i were Simon Baker i'd throw the script in Heller's face after reading the crap he wrote for the Red John story-line.

I think the perfect example to compare this show to is Supernatural. In supernatural, their fans don't give a flying fuck about the plot line........... 95% of the fan base is comprised of females eye raping Dean and Sam. That's the only reason they tune in to watch and that's the only reason this show has been renewed until it's 9th year.................... and will probably be renewed for the 10th regardless of how shit the plot lines are. In the case of The Mentalist, Jane is the "Dean and Sam" and the plot has turned bad as well.

I've been reading this site since the end of the 5th season but this will be the first time I make a comment. Mentalist was my favourite show in many aspects and I still love re-watching some of the good old scenes but what Mentalist means to me now is; Epic fail. It was great because we wanted to catch the killer for vengeance! The main character had a family, loved them more than anything else and the killer took it from him. He swore vengeance and we were with him without question, because we could totally feel his anger and sadness etc. So there's a man who loves his wife (and child) so much that he is willing to hunt down their killer (what takes 10 years) and after then he just easily falls in love with his (probably only one) friend!!! C'mon! I know Heller wanted to show us what will happen after RJ dies but NO. Just NO! Patrick should have moved on of course, but not with another love! It's so fucked up..The only thing that made us symphatize with Patrick was that all what he did was for his LOVE. And for his FAMILY. Now they want us to let just forget that shit and now he is into Lisbon. Okay but then I don't give a fck about his 10-year agony. He could have moved on then without the drama. He shouldn't have killed RJ just a proper fuck from Lisbon and it all would have been okay. It's sad. The saddest part of the whole thing is; the story went to uber-happy. I loved the sadness in the show. It made Patrick's pain real. That was the reason I watched it. It was unique. Not every show needs to be a fucking happy end. And by happy i mean the happiness, not the part that he got his vengeance. They should have killed RJ then close the show. Even if there would be no explanations. (Like we have none now, too).

To add to what I posted earlier...

What do you think of this idea?

Maybe Red John could have been some sort of cult. A sort of guru- disciple thing- with only one disciple at a time.

So the red barn could have been done by the 'previous' Red John. Jane's family would be killed by 'current' Red John. And at the end when Jane is killing Red John- the serial killer tells him in a mocking way- 'but I am already succeeded' or 'I have already been succeeded'...and so Jane is faced with a dilemma- should he kill the guy or should he keep him alive to find out the identity of the 'new' Red John?

Sorry about my english.

Apologies for bad english in advance

Heller could have said-'He is mar' is a blind clue left by Red J himself. The 7 suspects might have been revealed by Jane to someone during a psychotic break. Lorelei maybe- all the time he spent with her? Would be interesting if Jane actually had a psychotic break at the end of 4- when he thought he was faking it.  Blake A was needed maybe cos it does seem logical that Red J would need people to collect all the info he required. But mcallister could have been shown as some sort of a puppet master- rather than an actual member

Showdown in red J ep should have been structured differently. maybe red J captured Jane and made him listen to all his plans?

Red J should not have been in an official position (sheriff or bertram's role). Official work involves a lot of paperwork- and somehow I do not see Red J doing any such work. Showman- paralleling Jane (Stiles) suits him better

The lead characters should have continued in their platonic way forever.
