i would have to think that the biggest diversion of all was rosalind harker's description of RJ.  before 6x8 when this site was going nuts, everyone was eliminating suspects based on physical description, mainly by rosalind and sophie.  well since RH was RJ's girlfriend, and we were shown that he visited her after Jane did, and possibly hipnotized her,  we should completely ignore her description.  not only ignore it, we should maybe even look for the opposite in some ways.  hell, PJ didn't believe her, why should we.  if PJ considered reede smith and bret stiles, there is no reason we shouldn't.  Yes, sophie said he was "middle aged", but that is a pretty vague term. 

and i think we can all agree, if stiles was involved somehow, then he wasn't alone or had help.  maybe a son, or a protege he was guiding in his footsteps.  and stiles never denied having links to RJ.  links that were never explained.

I know the first thing I'll be looking for in S7x1 is pj's ring finger.if he's still wearing it, then he's not convinced that his revenge is fulfilled.

Stiles said to his cult that he was leaving for a while and he would return. How's a 3 year vacation sound......

Welp, I admire the faithful who think something will eventually make sense on this show, BUT I also understand those who think that The Mentalist is never going back to RJ, it's done.  We've been told the latter, yet we've also been teased about the former.


Regardless of which category you're in [for me, it's somewhere in the middle], I think everyone can agree that almost nothing logical happened in Season 6  [or last half of Season 5 while we're at it].  We had:



DIALOGUE SO CONFUSING: it's been like trying to decode a secret language where the cipher is another secret language [in pig latin]



PLOT HOLES SO GAPING: the finale should have been called "The Black Hole" [which is a "star" that has died and yielded to the laws of gravity]



CHARACTERS SO FOREIGN: to their original form [and without an authentic arc], the only explanation is that an ALIEN came down and infected everyone  -- I vote for Erica Flynn as the alien [she did kiss Jane, and far better than Lisbon]


AND, also worth MENTIONING…..the complete, total and utter…



GENRE CONFUSION:  Yes folks, The Mentalist has IT ALL....turns out it's a Romantic Procedural Crime Dramedy full of Blood, Slapstick and Farce, with a few carnival people thrown in -- also particularly good if you're nursing a predilection for pigeonomania and/or the Second Coming.  Seems like all that's missing from this show is a creepy banjo player. ****



BUT COME SEPTEMBER.... 


Will Jibson's love survive?  Or will Patrick Jane fly into outer space in his secret RV spaceship [when it is revealed that Red John is living on the planet Mongo!]

****  This website is proving far more entertaining than the show it was created for.

I know it's been a few years down the road and Bret Stiles has passed. But whatever happened to visualize? As far as I know, they have been under severe FBI investigation for a long time now. I think they should at least address this issue. 

You know, most of Patrick's "tricks" would not hold up in court in a billion years. If you apply logic from a show which respects the rule of court like Law and order SVU, then most of the cases Patrick solved would have failed to stand in court. The accused are entitled to a not say a word....... but somehow Cho get's them to spill everything out when there is minimal evidence to prove anything.   Also, have you ever noticed the lack of forensic presence in the CBI? We never saw a coroner once nor was a case ever solved based on forensic evidence alone............ I'm not trying to put this show down nor am i complaining or ranting, but Heller never used logic when it came to "the mentalist".

I have a theory that will answer all of our doubts.
Bruno Heller threw random clues around which he couldn't put together even if he wanted to......... as the clues piled up, it reached a point where things got out of hand and he ended everything in an instant to cover up the fact of what a fucking failure he is as a producer and writer.

I want Red John back but all hope died when the season finale had only that idiotic love crap as a main story.

Season 7 is dripping with anticipation of the following questions.........

Will Patrick penetrate Teresa on his couch?
Will she become pregnant?
What will they name their child? :O
Will Cho finally challenge Kim to the highly awaited Stare-off contest?

All these and more to be answered in season 7 of the mentalist!
