When Lorelei Martins says it's a wonder you weren't friends since the moment you shook hands. It was said
to Patrick Jane to demean him and to imply that he and red john were alike and this would be even more biting if Lorelei knew from first hand knowledge. If it was a story that red john had told her third hand or not a momentous occasion. This would not of been used as an offhand insult with the passion it was delivered with. Lorelei Martins was still on good terms with red john before she insults him and wanted to be released so she could serve him. Its possible that brett stiles and patrick jane did shake hands in the beginning of this episode, but it goes back to the movie when they pause to leave. The main thing is it needs to be someone that jane would have respect for that would bother him to know that there the killer and Bret Stiles is such a suspect, but he is the obvious choice.
