It's simple. the one who killed that women that bugged the cbi is not red john.
red john is not messy. he doesn't need somebody to do his works for him. red john knows that he is among jane list so he could easily come to cbi and bug it and even if something goes wrong he is already on the list and he could com with any excuse assuming that he doesn't has an insider within lisbon team already. this is more simple than "hiring" someone.
therefor, whoever sent and killed that women is either a tyger or visualize member as simple as that.
the leverage that jane talked about is real enough. why? because by knowing the killer identity he gets to either tyger or visualize group and then red john because red jone is connected to both groups in his early life (visualize) or current (tyger) even though it might mean that he is a member or was one.
my thought so far:
1. red john killed partridge to send a message to jane. partridge is a tyger member and a disposable one.
2. kirkland has a twin but that twin is not red john and works for tyger group.
3. bertram, mcallister and smith are tyger members.
4. stiles knows red john and has a black dot in his history.
5. the killer that killed that women is not red john. but, he is a threat to red john.
6. haffner in a way is "doing somthing good". knows about tyger and is working to destroy it. tyger knows all about him and kept him silent by someway. he joined visualize to get his back coverd. visualize knows all about him.
7. visualize and tyger are enemies. the one thing they share together is RED JOHN.
