Who is Red John?

Theories of mikefit (43)

Another thought... Reed and Bertram are definitely in "the 3 dots tattoo gang" but I don't think either of them has a clue who Red John is. I bet RJ knows who they are and that they are in the "3 dots tattoo gang." So is there three different groups here?

or do you think the three dotters/TT are all the same and headed by RJ?

I just dont see RJ being a head of a conspiracy organization. Im sure he has followers, but hes a sociopath serial killer not some group builder...

If you agree with my thoughts that the 3-dotters are not associated with RJ, what do you think their role is?
Are the hunting RJ and his followers? Are they just a corrupt group of people throughout law enforcement with another agenda not related to RJ at all?

Question for the board. When Jane is setting up his shotgun next to the couch, he looks at the gun and then out at the room and back again a couple of times. Why do you think that is? The obvious is that he wants to make sure hit is hidden from view. If that were the case he could just hide it better. It seems he adjusts it to almost a precise millimeter of having it be in a particular line of sight. Does anyone think he seated a particular suspect in a particular place in order to have them see it?

Also, the bomb. I like the theory I read here that someone believes it's meant to fake Stiles death for whatever purpose...

Sorry for posting so much, but I finally saw the extended trailer for 07 and I think my final guess I am going to run with is this.

1. Jane's team in this episode will be helping Jane knowingly or unknowingly to spread disinformation about who dies in the blast.
2. The three men on Rigsby's "RIP Board" are the only three still alive
2a. Stiles is alive for some purpose, maybe Jane let's him in on things
2b. Hafner is alive because he is RJ
2c. McAllister is alive because he was not really TT but he did infiltrate TT (or whatever faction of TT that Reed and Bertram represent).
3. Bertram and Reed are dead (probably killed in the blast).
4. I dont beleive anyone "innocent" is killed in the blast.
5. Jane and Stiles (and maybe Haffner) are all in a/the vehicle fleeing the house as Lisbon's team arrives.
6. Hafner is RJ and either gets away at the house or gets away as Jane is kidnapping him from the house.

My final reasoning on why I think Hafner is RJ:
The TV guide interview really makes me think its him. I dont know why, but I get this vibe from Simon Baker that the kill scene is homoerotic and it just suggests to me an equal adversary in terms of attractiveness, age, and build. I also think Haffner most resembles the descriptions physically we got from others. Also, idea of being lifelong friends after a handshake makes me think Haffner. The way Haffner is toward Lisbon (cocky, confident, somewhat dismissive in a playful way) is very similar to PJ, and with Lisbon being a very primary character in PJ's life, it would make sense for an outsider to pick up on Haffner/Jane similarities. Finally, him working at the visualize farm makes a lot of sense. I've also seen way to many good theories on this site why RJ is not Bertram or Stiles. Heller knows that RJ identity can't be a huge surprise now (if he is indeed among the 7 which Im sure is true), but I can't think he's going to let it be so obvious as having all spoilers in TV Guide and Extended promo point us at Bertram and then have it actually be Bertram.

I appreciate any comments

Question on Dessert Rose ending. Lisbon clearly looks at a small room with a sink in it. It's deliberate (right after partridge killed. There must be a significance. no??

I still think it could be anyone, but one thing I think warrants focusing on is the scene where PJ sets up the two guns. It's very deliberate. In screenwriting you don't waste screentime on anything not really relevant. I think it is the pistol he wants to kill RJ with not the shotgun. Also the placement of two guns makes me think that he des not know who RJ is but he atleast knows of 1,2,or 3 that are definitely not RJ. I think he discovered that a while ago over the past three episodes and ever since making his list. He is too smart to not have atleast eliminated one or more suspects from his list. If this is true, I think atleast one of the 7 is aware, from Patrick, of atleast part of a plan that PJ has. I think this also may involve one or more of them being fake-killed. Maybe Stiles knows (since hes the one PJ had to go and see). Maybe McAllister is an ally and played the plan well by saying "it's not what you think." I think that nothing in the promos is as what it seems.

Questions for those who have more attention than me. Where do we see the photoboard with dead suspects that everyone is alluding too. I can't find that...

Another point leading me to Haffner is the idea of him being just like Jane. Everyone points to Stiles because of the "mental" stuff, but Haffner is very confident/arrogant (and briskly so), just like Jane. I think they are very similar that way. I can imagine them shaking hands a long time ago as teens or kids.

Just a note about wearing a ring as evidence. If RJ is a masterful, brilliant, step-ahead as we are led to believe no way he allows for a peice of jewlery to identify him. Even most dumb criminals would would remove identifiable jewelry.
