Who is Red John?

Just a point to note about the TV Guide interview:
If the actor who played Red John was surprised, I think it goes without saying that the same actor did NOT do the previous RJ voice overs.

I really began to wonder, because I agree with those who say the voice sounds just like Partridge.

In regards to the new interview where Robin Tunney was surprised at who Red John is, read her statement from May re: The List of 7.

From: http://redblog-thementalist.blogspot.com/2013/05/spoiler-exclusive-mentalist-postmortem.html?m=1

"When you learned where the finale was going, were you surprised that Jane and Lisbon would be this close to catching Red John?
Robin Tunney: I was really surprised. I was also really shocked at some of the names on the list! They weren't revealed to me until we shot the scene. I assumed Bret Stiles and Michael Gaston's character would be on the list. But Xander Berkeley, who was in our second episode and Jack Plotnick — I was pretty shocked. It'll make for a really exciting sixth season."

An observation

Anyone else notice that McAllister has a habit of rubbing the 3 fingers of his right hand against his thumb? Most scenes he's in from this season show this. Check it out.

I mention this because Partridge said RJ draws the smiley with the 3 fingers of his right hand. Coincidence? Only time will tell!

Just noticed something that a few of RJ's victims have in common--their names sound like a bird.

Martins (martin)
Renfrew (sounds like wren)
Marlon (sounds like merlin)
Partridge

We know one suspect "hates" pigeons. Just thought it was interesting.....

Just think it's interesting that both McAllister and Red John appear to be ambidextrous!

Remember the episode where RJ rescued Jane and quoted the Tyger poem?  At the time, Jane didn't tell Lisbon, even when 2 days later she specifically asked him if RJ said anything to him.  And he answered, "Nothing."
Did Jane ever tell Lisbon about this?  I can't remember if he eventually did or not.  Anyone know why?

In another recent post, I included my thoughts about "The Red Tattoo" and a possible connection to "he is mar".  At the time, I had forgotten about the episode "The Blood on His Hands" where a Visualize member is found and she bears a Visualize tattoo.

The upcoming episode is entitled, "The Red Tattoo."  We know from its description that it focuses on the murder of a prominent member of Visualize.

The episodes that follow are "Fire and Brimstone" and "The Great Red Dragon," both titles of which are from the Book of Revelation.  It is my guess that we'll find out in "The Red Tattoo" that RJ is marked with a red tattoo (akin to Revelation's 'mark of the beast') and that will be our answer for the meaning of "he is mar".  Perhaps this ties in with his (past?) connection to Visualize.
