Who is Red John

I've though for a long time now that RJ could be Dr Steiner. He asks Jane to witness his suicide because he is afraid of an autopsy. Why would someone who is afraid of being autopsied become a coroner? Hey may have just taken a drug which made him look dead.

Also many theories say that RJ like Lisbon which is why he didn't kill her. In the episode where Steiner 'dies' he says:

"Agent Lisbon's a good person. She reminds me of......never mind"

He never does say who she reminds him of.

Also the scenes with Jane and Steiner were always quite funny. The writers could have kept him on the show to pop up every now and again just to add comedic value. There could be another reason for taking him off the show.

Red John is not Kirkland's brother. Some people are saying that the hand shake between Bob Kirkland and PJ was actually with Michael Kirkland (Lorelei has already said that PJ and RJ have shaken hands).

If that was true then the first time PJ met Bob Kirkland, they would have shaken hands again or at least Bob Kirkland would have introduced himself again but all other times they meet each other its like they already know eachother.

(Same idea also applies for Theresa since Bob has met her many times aswell).

Danny Ruskin - Agreeing with all points made by a previous comment maker with regards to this suspect, but would like to add one point...

I have always been convinced that 'he is mar' literally meant just that - (Synonyms: blight, blotch, defect, deformity, disfigurement, excrescence, excrescency, fault, flaw, imperfection, blemish, mark, pockmark, scar). In one scene where he appears his eye is watering even Jane remarks upon this.

This episode just jumped out at me, the only thing that has held me back is how does he have connections within fbi and cbi? He kind of fits the bill for all other clues
