Extending my previous post, another thing that doesn't make sense at all. PJ magically concurs that Bertram is Red John. OK till now. But before the explosion he had 3 suspects, and he took for granted that the sheriff isn't Red John, because he died!! The fact that he died cleared him!
So if a brick had fall on Bertram's head during the explosion and Bertram died instead of the sherriff, then the sheriff would be RJ and Bertram would be cleared! And then he goes on to name the serial killer on national TV without any evidence watsoever. He puts the life of Bertram on the line, when he has no evidence that Bertram has ever done anything wrong. Wow!
