Who is Red John?

Theories of Sezaru (21)

So Robin Tunney (Lisbon) was shocked when si found out who RJ was. Now, if he were someone from the list, I don`t think that she would have been so shocked; think about it - if RJ turns being one of the 5, would you be shocked by the news? Definitely no.You could be surprised by the story behind, but not be RJ`s identity. So, my point is, he is definitely NOT on the list. He can`t be. It would be too easy and "not funny at all", as Jane uses to say.

1. Don`t know if any of you have noticed, but Rigsby is the only one from the team who speaks spanish. Episode 19, season 2. 00:33:28
2. Is that a three dots tatoo? Episode 22, season 1, minute  00:27:25 :)
 Tyger, tyger!

The Asian gang members often mark the back of hand with 3 tattoo dots or 3 cigarette. Hispanic gangs also use a three dot tattoo which may have several meanings; one which may be "Mi Vida Loca" or My Crazy Life. Another may be representative of the "Los Vatos Locos" (The Crazy Dudes or Guys) gang. Hope you fine this helpful. The link I listed in source has quite a bit of information on gang tattoos and marks.

To me, the list is divided in many parts:

1. People who have a major interest in finding out who RJ is- Kirkland (representing Homeland Security), Smith (representing the FBI), Haffner (representing the private area), and Bertram (who I don`t know whose interests is representing, given his weird conversation with Smith)
2. People who have a strange connection to Red John:
- Partridge is the fan (and probably one of his disciples)- he is always guessing wrongly when it comes to RJ murders, so unless he does it on purpose, I guess this could be a clue related to his death. Maybe he was working for RJ and he made a mistake. I did something wrong. I am just guessing about his death, this theory isn`t about that)
-Bret Stiles, who, to me seems to be a former mentor of Red John. He doesn`t agree with RJ`s behavior, but does nothing to stop it. I think he is feeling guilty somehow about it.
-Sheriff McAllister - this man is very interesting and weird. Maybe he is RJ, but something tells me that he isn`t. Anyway, he definitely is somehow connected to RJ.

My point is, none of them seems to have the motive to be Red John. I`m not saying that you should agree with me, because, at this point, anything is 100% sure.  Anyway, it kinda feels like the writers are reading all these theories and introduce them into the story. The CBI Ron thing, the pigeons fear, all that seems a little too much for me.
When Jane said to Lisbon "I could marry you off in an instant" he was actually looking very attentively at RON, like he was speaking with him. And like he was threatening him. Weird.

In thw panting that Mashburn gave Liselle as a gift there is  tyger in the center of the image. If anyone knows which is the name of the painting, please tell me! Thanks

Walter Mashburn

I have a whole theory, but I`ll make it as short as I can,
by pointing out only the major clues:

1.       “The
night I gave back his ring and told him about Yuri, I could see something crack
inside him”- is what the women who he was engaged with said about him (s03 e
07) -  so we know that he was disappointed by a women that he loved

2.
He has no family, but a lot of friends

3.
He`d do anything for a thrill – so I assume he
started killing for fun, and he preferred women because he wanted to teach them
a lesson

4.
He is arrogant, vain, narcissistic, and he hates
to lose

5.
When he asks Jane “What, you`re a psychic?” we
can easily observe his disgust when talking about psychics

6.
He likes to wear red a lot

7.
When he`s at the CBI, we often can see him
talking with CBI Ron. And Ron is always in the background when Mashburn is there

8.
When he figures out that Lisbon almost took a
bullet in order to save him (same episode 7 from season 3) he`s very surprised;
like he wouldn`t expect that.

9.
He`s charming. He seems the perfect man. Rich,
handsome, smart, willing to make anything to make people around feel nice. He
offers a lot of gifts, so people can easily be attracted to him.

10.
He definitely has something to hide. Jane knows
that.

11.
He had many wives. But when reffering to them,
is he actually talking about the women who he got married, or about his
victims?

12.
That supermodel was willing to kill anyone who
even dared to approach him. Many women are crazy, but still, it is a little
awckward.

13.
The name Wasburn appeared on Sophie Miller`s
list of patients.

To me, Walter Mashbun is the perfect Red
John. Is the kind of person that people can easily love and hate intensily, at the
same time. He is like the darker side of Jane, but equally charming and smart.
If Lisbon slept with him, that is not a coincidence. It is because, besides
Jane, only he has the power to make her “fall in love with him” somehow.

One of the four patients on Sophie Miller`s list is named Mitchell Livingstone Washburn. I don`t know if it is just a coincidence, or a clue. I just found it weird and I wanted to know your opinion, too.

Just some questions :1, How is it possible for Reede Smith to be on Jane`s list, when we all know that Red John is a slim person (we`ve all seen him in the last episode of season two - it appears to be a tall, slim men). Patrick did see him. He knows that. So why would he put Smith there?
2. Have you noticed that, whenever he watches TV, Jane whatches TIGERS (or other animals) going after their prays and catching them? Is he trying to find out something, or does he just have a guilty pleasure in watching other creatures suffering? And, more important, it appears to have this in common with Red John. I think he`s analyzing the tyger`s behavior in order to discover why did RJ recite the "Tyger" poem.

*Just a thought: I think all the 7 suspects have something in common; one of them is the real RJ, and the other six are related to him somehow.

And I saved the best for the end: We see a trailer of the second episode of season 2 where Jane says that all this time he has been one step ahead of RJ. My guess? THE LIST thing.
When Kirkland broke into his room and discovered Jane`s work, it was, obviously, a trick carefully orchestrated by Jane. So I think Jane had a sort of game in mind, like "whoever will broke into his roof has something to do with Red John: maybe he is an informant, or maybe he is the actual Red John". There`s the trick, I guess. I think the in Jane`s mind there are less than 7 (now 6 remaining) suspects. My guess? He already has a top three.
