Who is Red John?

Theories of RedBeret (1)

I've been reading theories on this site for a while now and never posted. Mostly because I don't think I have the Red John mystery solved. I'm sure the writers deserve more credit than to believe so many people cracked the biggest case of the shop's existence.

Now first and foremost, I think all the theories of Jane being Red John are terrible. Again, I think the writers deserve more credit than that. And it definitely does not add up with the show from the beginning.

As for people all over the internet saying they can't wait for the Red John storyline to end - How can you call yourself a fan of the show if you don't enjoy the Red John storyline? It's literally been there since the pilot and the show is basically based around this plot. I'm personally very sad that the Red John plot is ending. it's what the show is about for me.

I don't necessarily have an actual theory on who Red John is. I do believe the writers are throwing a lot of obvious clues out to the viewers to throw people off as they do every episode with every case. I also am not 100% convinced Red John really is on the list of suspects. it would be fitting for him not to be on the list. But, I will say that I'll be very disappointed if he turns out to be someone that doesn't have traceable clues all the way back to the beginning of the show to prove it. I will definitely be re-watching the entire show from the pilot again once Red John is revealed to see if the writing matches up to the outcome from the get go.

If I absolutely had to say one of the suspects was Red John I guess I would go with Sheriff McAllister. For whatever reason when the lost of suspects was revealed I could remember McAllister so vividly as if he was a recurring character even tho I hadn't seen him since the pilot.

There is a part of me that does believe Van Pelt can be a Red John associate in some way. And everyone seems to believe McAllister hitting on Van Pelt was a clue to him being a ladies man and eluding to him being Red John but maybe him hitting on her was just a way to distract us from thinking they could be associated with each other already.

I do tho also believe McAllister being a sheriff in Napa makes it quite difficult for him to be able to be a serial killer who rarely kills in the Napa area. As a matter of fact, I think it'd be hard for anyone with a high level of power in law enforcement would have the time to be Red John and the capabilities of being so mobile and able to be wherever Red John needs to be all the time.

As for theories on Red John being an organization - I think it's a terrible theory and would definitely be disappointed with that outcome. I do believe the list all have a Tyger connection and maybe a list of people Red John wants dead and is using Jane to reveal and eliminate.

It does still linger with me that Gale quoted Blake.

Pretty soon the season finale of season 3 will be on TNT in syndication and I can't wait to re-watch it! I believe there are a lot of clues in that episode and many other earlier episodes. I also really want to watch the pilot episode again!

I do not believe anyone from the team will be Red John but again there is a part of me that believe Van Pelt may be an associate. There are many things that could back it up.

I do believe the writers will shock us as they always have done from the beginning. I also doubt we will be so "disappointed" when we find out who Red John is, as Heller stated.
