It's not him because Bred Styles knows who RJ is. That I'm sure of.
And in Fire and Brimstone Bred Styles 'saves' him from beeing shot by Jane,
because he knows he isn't Red John and doesn't want an innocent one beeing shot.
If he was RJ I think Styles wouldn't try to stop Jane.
