Who is Red John?

Theories of DearBoss (3)

The number Jane used to reach Sheriff McAllister is (707) 555 - 0163. The four last numbers may be a reference to Uncial 0163, the greek manuscript of the New Testament of The Bible, more specifically to a small part of the sixteenth chapter of the Book of Revelation (16:17-21). I think this is one of Heller's hidden clues. Let's take a look at it.

"And the seventh angel
poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the
temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done."

Now that might lead you guys to believe that Stiles is the one being spotted here, because of the vial and stuff, but if we read carefully this particular chapter we'll find reference to seven angels (which I think Heller is using as a metaphor to the seven suspects).
And who might be this seventh angel? The last and ultimate one?

Well, let's take a look at the order of the suspects as they are read by Lorelei Martins:

1. Bret Stiles
2. Gale Bertram
3. Ray Haffner
4. Reede Smith
5. Bob Kirkland
6. Sheriff McAllister
7. Brett Partridge

Yes, he is the seventh suspect, the seventh angel. He is Red John.

(PS: the third angel from the Revelations book turns his vial upon the seas, making the water turn into blood. So Haffner is still a possibile suspect, IMO).

He said "Ciao, friends". We all know Red John has used italian expressions before. "Roy Tagliaferro". That could be a clue.

Partridge matches the physical description both given to the CBI by a blind witness, and what we see in the episode where Red John saves Jane.

Partridge's voice matches Red John's voice.

Partridge pokes fun at Jane "whipping up the psychic ectoplasm" in the last episode Partridge appeared in, just as Red John did in the letter he left Jane after killing his family.

"The Tyger" is a poem by the famous William Blake, who also painted "A Brace of Partridge." The poem is either a reference to the fact that Red John is the Tyger and Jane is "The Lamb" (The Tyger's sister poem), or the fact that both Red John and Jane could in fact be the Tyger.

In the most recent episode, "Black Cherry" we see Jane's notebook of those he'd shaken hands with. The last page shown on screen has Brett Partridge listed on the left side with the following caption:

BRETT PARTRIDGE
CBI Forensics Dept
Totally Macabre
Worked on RJ cases

Lorelei Martins confirms that Jane has shaken hands with Red John, and Partridge being entered in this notebook confirms they had shaken hands.

With all of this evidence, it is pretty clear that Brett Partridge is indeed Red John.
