Did someone notice that moviment with the fingers that both Bob Kirkland and Patrick Jane did?

When BK was torturing Haibach he moved the fingers, and when PJ was been tortured by BK, PJ also did the moviment with the same fingers.
Strange... Was this a red herring or it means something?

I don't like that Reede Smith killed Kirkland... This was bad, but coherent...
