Some other theorists have already expressed some aspects of my current theory. I think that Patrick Jane made the video of Lorelei reading the list of the seven suspects, with Lorelei's cooperation, sometime shortly after she had been shot in her arm.


So obviously Jane created the list of seven names, and he wanted only Lisbon to see the video and know the seven. That is why he immediately destroyed the disk. I'm not really sure that Lorelei is really dead, it could have been a setup by Jane so that Red John will think she is no longer a threat to him because he killed her sister. The problem with this, of course, is that RJ would know that he did not kill Lorelei.


Anyway, Jane will be ahead of Red John, and if he later finds out that RJ knows the list of 7, he will also know that Lisbon is connected to RJ, who will probably immediately tell Lisbon that he did not make the video with Lorelei, and Jane will be able to read Lisbon. 

I also think that Rosalin Harker may have lied about the physical and vocal description of RJ, as RJ may have told her to mislead the CBI.
