If the Leaked Episode is REAL, then:
1. CBS flat-out didn't care about spoiling the reveal in their promo material.
2. It's simply a coincidence that this episode wound up getting leaked.
3 Bruno has suddenly forgotten how to write.
4. The show's budget suddenly got cut in half.
5. Every specific clue from episodes past winds up being pointless.
6. Mentalist's PR team never heard of this site, nor has Bruno.
7. The Mentalist fan/tv critic who positively reviewed RED JOHN, truly believed that this episode showed Jane at his witty best and gives the fans the CLEVER Holmes/Moriarty showdown they've been waiting for, along with answers to MANY questions we've had for years.
8. Heller thinks so little of the fans, so as to expect them to keep watching after seeing this weak wrap-up, which of course makes him stupid as well as inconsiderate.
If the leaked episode is FAKE, then:
1. Bruno wanted it to be seen, to throw off fans, and surprise everyone.
2. CBS meant for pics of McAllister to be seen, with Bruno's full blessings.
3. Bruno will put the pieces together, that he has painstakingly laid out.
4. Jane will best RJ with manipulation, proving he's still ahead of all of us.
5. The cheap look of the episode was because it wasn't the REAL episode.
6. This site was instrumental in Bruno's decision-making, as to how and when to end RJ.
7. Bruno would like the show to continue successfully, with old fans as well as new.
Wishful thinking aside, it seems more logical to think that this leaked episode was calculated. And it was handled in such a way, so as not to be SO obvious that it deceives no one. It was available just long enough for people to see it and share it, but then got "quickly" taken down, as if it were an accident. Then it shows up on Itunes, again to make it "legit."
If Jane and his clever manipulation skills are merely an extension of Bruno's creativity and cleverness, then wouldn't it be very "Jane" of him to get everyone angry at him, only to prove that it was all a ruse, merely masking his true intentions, known only to him?
Don't get me wrong. It's entirely possible that all of the casual viewers' complaints about being sick of Red John finally got to Bruno, and he just said, "The hell with it. Let's just kill him and get on with the show, before our ratings drop any lower." It is all about money, at the end of the day, after all.
But I think even the CASUAL viewers would feel stiffed by this nonsense, and the ratings would plummet anyway. Bruno has to know that. So, for the show to even have a bright future, he has to deliver a payoff that would make people want to continue to tune in to see what's next for Jane.
Since almost all of us feel like this episode is a giant "F**K YOU", I don't think Heller would seriously put this out there as his "Hail Mary." He would only do that if he doesn't care anymore and plans to cancel the show, and on a sour note, at that.
So, to my way of thinking, too much is at stake here, for Heller to do this, unless he's finished and angry. His latest interviews don't seem to suggest that at all. So, for now, I'm still going to assume this is all a ruse. Seems more reasonable to me. I sure hope to God I'm right....
And yes, I hope it's Partridge.
