ARGUMENTATION

Based on my poll, the 90% of you guys, believe that "Red John" episode will be better than the season 3 finale. HIGH expectations for the upcoming episode.I hope we won't be disappointed. And I say I hope, because we NEED a big twist to be revealed so we can be satisfied. For me, the perfect scenario would be that Red John is not on the list, or if he is, at least it must be some of the 5 (Partridge, Kirkland, Haffner, Stiles, McAlister). But let's face facts.

1)Gale Bertram.
+He has a lot of power, resources etc.
+He seems pretty strong, determined, mysterious in a way
+He is obsessed with the media and the PR, just like Red John who doesn't like to be exposed on the media.

-He tried to kill Jane
-When he speaks to the phone he says: 'I've just had an interesting conversation with Patrick Jane", while Red John calls him with his first name.
-He doesn't know how to bluff on poker.(Seriously?)
-He doesn't fit either Rosalind Harker's or Sophie Miller's descriptions
-He seems to be more like Red John's informer.

2)Bret Stiles.
+Great sources, huge power
+Presents similar skills as Patrick's with people like hypnosis, manipulation, persuasion, good posture, good speech skills.
+He is mysterious and exciting character

-He is probably dead, and even he isn't, he has only a couple of weeks left.
-He is too old.
-While he kinda fits the Rosalind description, he doesn't fit the psychiatrist's one
-He seems that he really wants to help Jane catch Red John

3)Ray Haffner.
+Links to Visualize and Law enforcement (both involved)
+Fits the two women descriptions
+Lisbon asked him if he was at the Eliston Farm, and he answered 'Teressa we are still friends, right?" suggesting he was.
+He obviously likes Lisbon so he didn't kill her.

-He appears to be kinda stupid in some cases.1)When he was for one episode the boss of Jane, he set him up easily.2)He said indirectly to Lisbon that he is at the Visualise.
-He is probably dead.(That's not sure though.)
-He clearly has a secret. The thing is:What that secret is about?

4)Reede Smith
+Ok I have really a hard time here. :)

-Both descriptions are out
-Not many things to say, he is just another corrupted cop with lack or sources and power.
-He was about to pull his gun and shoot Jane at the 'Fire and Brimstone'
-So high tempered, bully, with lack of restraint.

5)Bob Kirkland/Michael Kirkland
+Fits perfectly the two descriptions.
+Mysterious, creepy, secretive, sneaky, clever, twisted, wicked, determined
+Has the links to Red John (one way or another)
+GREAT actor (ok I needed to say that).Would make the perfect Red John for me.

-One of the two brothers is certainly dead.

6)Sheriff Thomas McAlister.
+Fits the descriptions
+Wants to be friend with Patrick(He calls him that way)
+As a Sheriff he has enough time and the links.
+He is an excellent shooter, like Red John.He also saved Patrick at 6x03
+While he seems a social and easy person to communicate, something dark appears to his general emotional make up.

-He is possibly dead.
-We haven't seen him that much in the show in general.
-At episode 1x02 he lost repeatedly in "rock paper scissors" from Jane.(Would Red John do that? :D)

7)Brett Partridge.
+Perfect actor, and character to be Red John
+He is in the investigation of Red John.(common sociopath's profile)
+In every crime scene that he meets Jane, he states the opposite of the things that really happen probably to watch how Jane will react.
+Perfect theatrical skills by the character, creepy, crazy, mysteriously happy at the same time
+Fits both descriptions

-He is probably dead
-He doesn't seem to like Jane a lot
-Lack of sources and power

*I still believe that Red John could be someone that is not in the list.Suppose you are Heller, and you just thought of a brilliant plot about Red John(who isn't on the list). And then in an interview they ask you: "Red John is on the list?"
What would you answer? If you say no, then you give out a HUGE spoiler. If you choose not to answer the question, then it will start to be suspicious. If you say "yes' then you'll be considered as a liar.So Heller replied 'you can trust the list'.So clever answer.
