THE THEORIES

I still wish and believe that only Walter has the potential to be RJ. Who else could be smart enough to be able to use people and to play in PJ's league?
Also, I am not sure, if the clue in 6x01 is really the pigeons. Could also be a sign that the pigeons come to the feeding hand. Lisbon has surveillance over all suspects of PJ's list and no one is near Partridge. Could this be one clue? RJ is NOT a person from the list?
I also watched the scene in the house where Lisbon finds Partridge again and again and the strangest thing I recognized is that Lisbon is looking behind and looks at the wash-basin which seems to be cleaned. What could that mean? PJ once says that Walter has a minor dirt phobia...

In Red Hot, when Mashburn first arrives, he acts like he can't remember Lisbon's name. Then a little while later he is calling her "Teresa". That is strange to me, how did he all of a sudden remember her name? Also in the same show, in the beginning when he is talking, close your eyes and listen to his voice. Before down voting, please go back and re watch this episode.

So...Mashburn wont appear soon maybe in episodes 1x.

Despite the interesting quote from Mashburn, "I have a lot of friends. Sheriff's Department, mayor's office..." I really don't think he is RJ.

I'll tell you why... Yes, he has a ring on, but it's on his RIGHT hand (ring finger)

Mashburn is NOT afraid of heights, as noted when his car runs off the edge of the cliff in episode 13 season 2.

I know that some people have referenced Dr. Miller's list of patients and the fact that it had someone with the last name Washburn on it, but that's too far a stretch in my opinion. Why would they replace the M with a W it's just a really silly thing that I don't think means anything at all (people are reading too far into it!)

This is my first time posting. I have been reading the theories as they come, but it seems to me that as we get closer to the end, the theories are becoming more and more wild.

I think it is Walter Mashburn because I believe that the most eloquent clue so far has come from Lorelei Martins when she tells Jane that he is so much like Red John. I think GlaDon said this a few posts ago, but to find out who Red John is, we must look for someone a LOT like Jane.

So far, only Walter Mashburn fits that description. The man has some serious charisma (he got Lisbon to fall for him), and is incredibly manipulative (Jane did not think Mashburn was a socio/psychopath when he first met him). Mashburn also has more than enough money to finance his 'hobbies'.

No matter how hard I look at it, and from any angle, I just dont see anyone on this now infamous list of seven to fit this mold of who Red John is. Red John would hate to be told by someone who is his superior at work, what to do and what not to do. He cannot stand being insulted, he is very proud. He believes in his own superiority in everything. He's not going to be someone who works under someone else- he will answer to no one but himself.

I also think that theres something undefinable about Mashburn. Like Sophie Miller, the psychologist, says, when she talks about Red John, that something about him makes her uneasy. I had those same thoughts about Mashburn when we were watching the episode with him.

Last, please comment on this. I'd to know if anyone has EVIDENCE that it just quite simply CANNOT be Mashburn. Thank you!

First time post.

I love reading the theories on this site, but it seems
pretty clear, especially lately, that many of the clues in the show are
ambiguous. “He is Ma”, for example. It could be anything. Or nothing. Or
EVERYTHING. What hand does Red John use to drink tea? It’s a CLUE!! Haffner can whistle!! He must be Red John!!

I’m not mocking, but the problem is those types of theories could
show anybody to be Red John.

Instead, I like to approach it from the question of who, in
reality, COULD be Red John. I know that it’s a tv show, but in real life, what
type of person could get people to devote their lives and their loyalty blindly
to a SERIAL KILLER? That’s not an easy sell. That would take an extraordinarily
special type of person, one who excels in at least three things:

1)
Extreme charisma

2)
Extraordinary manipulator

3)
Filthy rich

In the show, there are really only two characters that fit
that mold well – Bret Stiles and Walter Mashburn. Both are highly likeable, are
absurdly rich, and can get people to do what they want. However, Bret Stiles
seems content with that, but Walter does not. Bret is the type of person to get
others to kill for him, rather than getting his hands dirty himself.

Rewatch the episodes with Walter. It’s obvious he is
extremely bored with his life, and loves thrills. He accompanies Jane
throughout investigations in his episodes because it’s fun. In addition, he
really genuinely likes Patrick and Lisbon, to the extent that he calls them in
as his “personal security” in his second episode. Who else in the show likes
both Patrick and Lisbon? Walter constantly flirts with Lisbon. If Red John is
so powerful, why hasn’t he killed Patrick? Why didn’t he kill Lisbon? Seems to
me it’s because he likes them. Nobody on “the list” likes Patrick. Well,
perhaps with the exception of Stiles, but that seems like more of a respect.

Also, in watching his episodes again, another thing that
stood out to me is it seems he could do the Red John voice. I think the only
two people I could say that about are Partridge and Mashburn.

Mashburn’s always been my guy. He’s the right fit for the
role. I know there are a lot of clues that point to a bunch of people, but I
just can’t see it. On the list of seven, the only one I could fathom as a
serial killer is Partridge, but he’s a creep. Who, in reality, would REALLY
follow him? How would he get such loyal followers? If you set aside the
ambiguous clues, and focus on actual personalities, there aren’t many people that
could actually fit the role. There’s really only one – Walter Mashburn.

As a side note, although I believe many people are correct
in the parallels to Revelation with the show, the one thing that keeps being
stated that is not true is that the dragon in Revelation has a head killed and
then brought back to life. In Revelation there is a great dragon AND a great
beast. Both have seven heads. The dragon gives the beast its power. The beast
is the one that has a head fatally wounded and then healed, so with all of the
theories saying Partridge is coming back because of the dragon’s resurrected
head, the parallel isn’t quite there. (Rev 13:1-3)

Tyger Tyger, burning bright, In the forests of the night; What immortal hand or eye, Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
In what distant deeps or skies. Burnt the fire of thine eyes?On what wings dare he aspire? What the hand, dare seize the fire?
And what shoulder, & what art,Could twist the sinews of thy heart? And when thy heart began to beat,What dread hand? & what dread feet?
What the hammer? what the chain, In what furnace was thy brain? What the anvil? what dread grasp, Dare its deadly terrors clasp!
When the stars threw down their spears And water'd heaven with their tears: Did he smile his work to see?Did he who made the Lamb make thee?
