THE THEORIES

The list is fake and I think the next episode will prove it. In the promo for Fire and Brimstone, Lisbon says "If you do this, and you're throwing your life away", Jane: "No one is leaving, bye Lisbon" and the building blows up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhqIiOERZeY

I'm suggesting that in this next episode Jane is going to fake his death along with all remaining fake suspects. Lisbon and the team won't know and Lisbon's grief will help convince RJ that it was real. RJ will relax because Jane is dead and Lisbon will think RJ is dead because she believed in the list of seven suspects who are all dead at that point. It will be like the season 4 finale where Jane faked a breakdown only this trap has been carefully sewn for several episodes. The audience didn't know that Jane's breakdown was fake until he told Lisbon. Similarly in this season, the audience believes the list is real because Lisbon does.

I think it was the tiger tiger group that killed the private investigator in the Red Tattoo so that will be no help in finding RJ, it did however give Jane a good excuse to get the remaining fake suspects in a room together that Lisbon would believe. With everything happening with the tiger tiger group, it's more likely that they were the ones feeling so threatened that they wanted to bug Jane's office.

Now I've always believed RJ to be Walter Mashburn and as far as I can remember he is the only suspect that had a phobia before they started shoving supposed phobias from the fake suspects down our throats. Jane guessed that Mashburn had a mild dirt phobia. RJ has always been very good at leaving no evidence behind at crime scenes. From the psychiatrist we know that RJ has a phobia of some kind. Now consider when RJ visited the psychiatrist, it would be very important that he didn't leave any fingerprints so he probably touched as little as possible and wiped down anything he actually touched. This would've come across as a cleanliness phobia to Sophia Miller. RJ is not scared of birds, heights, or spiders. RJ is simply very good at not leaving condemning evidence behind.

red john is not on that list . if you noticed folks that when Lisbon got the tip off on one of the suspects you could have seen on the computer where the other 6 suspects was located. these suspects was no way nearby when the Lisbon and partridge scene went down. that should say something. go back to the episodes with  Walter Washburn and another also max winter who was portrayed so suttle that I think a lot of mentalist fans missed the clues with regards to him being an rj suspect. observe how easily he manipulated Jane into taking the gun as a gift, it was almost as if he new jane's thoughts and what was going to take place next . the only two other mentalist presented in this entire show was WALTER MASHBURN  AND MAX WINTER   the man who gave jane the gun that he used to kill  the  the guy who was posing to be red john. RED JOHN is either of the two. I cant choose but I have a strong vibe that its one of these men with evidence for theory based on observing but WALTER IS STILL MY FAVORED SUSPECT ,I THINK I KINDA WANT TO SEE HIM ABOVE ALL AS  RJ.

with no coments on other theories, RJ could be anyone in the show.
the real RJ is DEAD at the end of season three.... (Timothy carter)
wait and read until the end.
Walter Mashburn appears in E13S02 and was facinated by PJ and was bored and willing to do anything to play with him.
He's very very rich - Knows a lot of people in law eforcement - Travels often and fits all descriptions.
So this Walter Mashburn (WM) decided to create the tiger tiger Org to play with PJ.
at the end of season2 it's him who saved PJ and launch the tiger tiger thing. w've never heard of tiger tiger before.
He next appears in E07S03 and shows us that hehas one other thng that all other suspects dosen't have: Lisbon.
he is the head of the tiger tiger org, none or few members knows who he is.
Question 1: who told RJ (Timothy carter) that PJ and Bertram are going to the mall to meet with Hightower S03 finale?
Question 2: Who Did Bertram called after PJ came int hs office and told him that Hightower wants to meet with him S03Finale?
Answer 1: RJ Followed PJ from the CBI office to the mall to see PJ's reaction after the supposed killing of Hightower by o'loughlin.
Answer 2: Bertram called mashburn to tell him that the CBI got News on the RJ affair. after all Bertram came to the CBI starting season 3, maybe on influence of mashburn.
Mashburn send's one or more of the newly tiger tiger org to watch what's hapening in the mall(the security guy).
and it is Mashburn who has the phone and the gun of RJ the real dead RJ killed by Pj.
After that WM decided to continue the RJ Killings, of course without the knowing of the members. Masburn can tell the tigers to get rid of someone, but not that RJ is dead and he's the new RJ.
Kirkland knew all that,, not about mashburn but about the death of RJ and that tigers are killing in RJ's name. he killed Lennon and didn't ask him about RJ because he knew that RJ was dead and to cover himself from the tiger Org. and only after that he discover's PJ's fake list and ask his next victim if he was RJ
brett Partridge discover what's happening Mashburn killed him and left Lisbon Alive.
before dying Partridge and todd jhonson pronounced tiger tiger to denounce the organisation, and to point their murderer.
rosalind harker didn't identify RJ, she was shocked, she's blind, Timothy carter's wife (RJ)
admitted that her husband was RJ and she could be the twin sister of rosalind harker,, RJ likes this type of women. RJ is Timothy carter and he's dead.
on E08S06 we won't see mashburn but he will be revealed by Bertram and reede Smith.
Do you want more? ok
Lorelei? what about her
after reading the RJ files Mashburn found her, and told her that he was RJ and manipulated her to bring back Pj to the game. by the way when she was found dead there was no traces of the bullit she took when chasing Lennon, on her left arm.
In all that i wrote above you replace Walter mashburn by Brett stiles it would be the same thing except that with stiles i have the answer to my last question.
what happened to Kristina Fry?

(Sophie) Preliminary diagnostic session with Jay Roth.
"Mr. Roth came in complaining of a recent issue with severe acrophobia. Fear of heights. He's middle-aged, in good health, with no stated prior history of psychiatric issues".
"Middle aged" rules out Stiles, McAllister and maybe even Bertram. In season 6 episode 2, Reede Smith barks at Bertram that it is his job to know how much Jane knows. If Bertram were Red John, Reede wouldn't dare speak to him like that. I'd like to believe Red John maintains his alpha male status within his pack at all times. But I personally haven't noticed such behaviour when any of the suspects meet. Personally, I think Walter Mashburn is a nice candidate for Red John. Perhaps it will also be revealed that the suspect list was in fact bogus, something intended to keep Red John thinking he's ahead.

Regarding the 7 suspects, I feel we know far less than we have been led to believe and think we know.  I have always had major problems imagining any of the 7 as RJ--none of them is a credible RJ!  I also continue to have problems believing J would so easily reveal his true list to anyone.  If J really believed knowing the list would put someone in danger, I think he never would have told Lisbon regardless what she wanted.  J could not survive another murder equivalent to the murder of his family.  --By now, he has known Lisbon and the others nearly as long as he was married to Angela.  Further, the CBI team has saved each others' lives--not just your ordinary workplace relationships!  So, Mr. Heller has his work cut out for him if RJ will be one of the 7 suspects revealed at the end of S5/S6E1.

Further, the method by which J came up with the 7 final names seems both fallible and very atypical for him--a brute-force approach.  The whole thing hinges on Lorelei's statement, "It's a wonder the two of you didn't become lifelong friends the moment you shook hands!"  That was the basis for the 3 criteria stated in the episodes:

#1.  J and RJ shook hands
#2.  They shook hands AFTER J's family was murdered
#3.  RJ must be someone who could have been at all of the RJ murders

Re. #1:  This directly hinges on the truthfulness of Lorelei's statement.  (I think) J made the point that Lorelei said it in a heated conversation rather than a calm, thoughtful moment.  It seems reasonable the statement is true.  But note how LITTLE it actually excludes.  J and RJ could have become friends later.  J and RJ could have shaken hands many times.  They could have shaken hands at any time--before the murder of J's family, or, indeed, before RJ became RJ (started murdering!).

Re. #2:  Assuming J shook hands with RJ AFTER J's family was murdered is plausible, but not necessary logically.  This opens up the possibility of the J-RJ connection extending back to J's early days.  The person who became RJ could have known and disliked J before J's family was murdered.  J's TV comments then could have triggered the murder of his family.  Or, someone like Sean Barlow could have had a grudge against Alex Jane and taken revenge by attacking J and his family.  (Remember Judge Dellinger's point:  "If you want to hurt a man, don't kill him.  Kill his family.")  A Sean Barlow could easily have predicted that, as a psychic, J would work with police and comment on notorious murderers for the credibility and free publicity.  Either the murderer might attack J or his family, or, Barlow could have them murdered in the RJ style, certain that the serial killer would be blamed.  Finally, J could have known RJ before RJ became a murderer and shaken his hand then.  Shaking hands need not have anything to do with RJ killing J's family.

Re. #3:  It is an assumption that RJ personally committed all of his murders.  But what if he had a follower commit some murders in his style?  Then the whole methodology falls apart.  Further, there have been several cases of copycat RJ murders.  J would have to identify the actual RJ murders with 100% accuracy.

Further, it isn't credible that J wouldn't use everything at his disposal to whittle down a list of 2,000+ people.  He already admitted to eliminating women.  What about other characteristics?  Disability:  Could RJ be blind, rely on a wheelchair, or be weakened by disease (e.g., advanced MS, for instance)?  What about age--too young, too old?  And how does the Red Barn RJ-style murders change that criterion?  Would a famous face (e.g., TV star, important politician) eliminate someone from being RJ because he would be too identifiable?

Finally, I think the fans who have tried to use physical descriptions are on a fool's errand.  First is the question of whether all physical descriptions are of the same RJ person (vs. RJ and one or more disciples).  I put no faith in Rosalind Harker's description.  She is blind (we believe), but the bigger concern is whether she can be trusted, being that she's in love with Roy Tagliaferro.  Anyhow, physical characteristics are subject to change, especially over a long period (12+ years since the Orville Tanner RJ murder).  A person can gain/lose a lot of weight, and become much more or much less physically fit.  People may bald with age and balding people can use ointments to stimulate new hair growth.  Hair can be cut, straightened or curled.  People may go from a middle-aged appearance to definitely old over a 12 year period.  People can be ambidextrous.  How someone smells can change based on where they are currently living and what they are doing (construction project vs. city job).  Callused hands can become soft if you stop doing heavy physical work.  And people may even lose height with age (shrinking an inch is fairly common).  In short, I think the physical characteristics must be used very gingerly if at all.  Gender and significant differences in height--several inches, for instance--may be useful, but the rest is questionable.

Taking the J character as presented for the past 5 years, as presented, the list of suspects and methodology are both highly suspect.  If I had my druthers, Walter Mashburn would be an excellent RJ (worst part of it is I liked Mashburn--horrible thought!).  If I am FORCED to choose among the list of 7 suspects, it would be either Bret Stiles-plus-son/protege OR Sheriff McAllister.

I just hope Haffner will play his role very good next episode, none of the 7 have been seen alot in the show ,so even if RJ is revealed i don't think it will be something impressive, yeah we will know who RJ is but,we actually don't care about any of them because we don't know them well.

And i think its Walter Mashburn,at least i can see Lisbon's face when Patrick kill him.
