NOT Minelli- if he wanted Boscoe off the case all he would have to do is simply not HIRE him or transfer him TO the case in the first place if he wanted Patrick to forever be the playtoy (of RJ).

   so what do you think PJ is? a wannabee kid

detective who would wait for the clues in a treasure hunt to fetch the

biggest motive of his life? and what would yhe creator of the show

think? they make sure his plan is revealed only in teh end of even the

pettiest of his tricks and this is the magnum opus of his life.....and 4

people other than him know it.....wow......i dont buy it and it makes

for a boring chase as well i think. 
also, you think rj being rj, is still going to be lured by pj into all these silly tricks..like showing his 3 dots to a person right when the heat is on and that person has had a contact with cbi..and do you think pj thinks so lowly of rj tht he will commit such rookie mistakes which btw he dint commit when he was a rookie

      so jane is playing the big strategy in this masterful chess game to trap the king..


the biggest move he has made imo to date is the list of fake rj suspects,

not the one he gave to kirkland (or planted) but the one he showed to

lisbon......i think he requested lorelei (mybe) to shoot that vide tape for him

when they were together and he put those 7 names there just to confuse

everyone around him..and he promptly destroyed the dvd which is

suspicious...so i think he is just confusing everyone else and even rj

if he is too active ion bugging his space..and eventually he would say

this is the man i knew from before was rj and just wanted to trap him as

he was so clever......and my vote is on Virgil Minneli..

1-  minelli has been brought twice in the show after resigning and both the times they meant something (at least the santa episode). why bring a busy artist to work when thr cud have been 10 ways pj cud have got that list..and in tht episode minelli said and i quote "thanks for opening my eyes to some ugly truths i had been avoiding like being  fish killer".....obviously he needed to resume killing people as rj......much with the vacations.....also, "you're nuts my freind".

2- minelli went on vacation just before the mexico killing. aybe then it was a red herring as it was the first season but en the writers knew they'd get more seasons they'd say "why not use that bit when its faded from memory'

3-  they shook hands in episode 100 flashback.

4-  he is well connected and powerful and has a charismatic personality and is also a renowned actor. now comeone u dnt want rj to be played by some dummy actor..

5-  once you warm up to this theory, u'd read mcuh between the minelli lines..

My gut feeling has always been Virgil Minelli. Anyone else feel the same?

1-  Minelli has been twice brought into the show after his resignation in season 2. now both of them were unnecessary you could say, or atleast the one in the santa episode.
2- dont you think heller would make sure the red john person is faded from the memory of people for some seasons so they get that ah moment. many would have even forgotten minelli.

3- in the 100 episode alexa shultz and bob kirkland are brought into the show in the end requesting red john things from minelli. just to divert attention maybe?
and kirkland is shown deliberately to be creepy imo. and then he is made to kill jason lennon under very suspicious circumstances.

4- ellis mars and todd johnson are brought into the picture soon thereafter to divert the attention.

2-  he has been reintroduced in one flash back episode and once while fishing which i dint think there was any use really for.
3- 
he is a solid character artists and the promoters wouldnt want RJ to be
some lightweight guy like maybe the guy playing smith..or the sherrif
4-  he is well connected and has the age needed
5-  bertram could be reporting it to him as he was the predecessor..

but anyhow, the list of 7 ought to be a fake..jane is planning the ruse behind that ploy

So I thought someone should collect all the Red John evidence from the six seasons and post it for everyone to see. Please comment below if you have further important evidence to add.

Rosalind Harker's description:  Under six feet.  Not thin but not muscular.  Straight hair.  Strong hands.  Soft voice.  Enjoyed Bach.  Smelled of pine and earth and nails.

Jared Renfrew:  He claimed Red John was a friend of a friend.  He had once won the Heisman Trophy.  When Renfrew was dying, he wrote on the bathroom wall He Is Mar...

Kristina Frye:  She was hypnotized by Red John into thinking she was dead.  Quite a mental feat.

Lorelei: She says PJ and RJ are just alike.  "I wonder why the two of you didn't become lifelong friends the moment you shook hands."

William Blake:  He quotes the poem to Patrick.  "Tiger, tiger, burning bright.  In the forests of the night.  What immortal hand or eye could frame thy fearful symmetry?"

Sophie Miller:  She describes RJ as a charming man, but with a dark cloud around him.  He was middle-aged, in good health, had no living family but many friends upon which he relied for comfort and support.  She believed he had a real phobia, not necessarily acraphobia, but something else perhaps.  He appeared calm and collective in the waiting room, though I note he is an excellent whistler.

The Red Barn:  Murders were committed at a Visualize farm by Red John in 1988.  His smiley face appears on the Barn outside. Most likely his first kills.

Kira Tinsley:  She was a P.I.  She claimed she was hired by Visualize to bug the CBI office and get close to Cho.  She is later killed and uses her last breath to tell Patrick her attacker has a tattoo, three dots on his left shoulder.
