THE THEORIES

I'm not saying that the list is for sure fake....(I just hope it is)...but as far as the list goes, I still don't understand why Jane would tell Lisbon and, ultimately, the entire team...even printing out PICTURES of the 7 suspects!!??

Why would someone as smart, but as technically UN-savvy as Jane, PRINT OUT PICTURES of the 7 suspects!!!???  We all know that Jane tries to avoid computers at all costs...What reason would he have to go through the trouble of printing out,  making copies, cutting them out individually!!??, or whatever he did?  I just can't wrap my brain around it.  Just having those pictures in his room is a HUGE risk, especially after he knows that someone had already broken in!

And to add to that: the possibility that their phones would be tapped, and when Lisbon told Grace, that someone would hear...OR the chance that their office is bugged and someone is listening to their conversations...

The ONLY place the list would be safe is IN JANE'S HEAD!!

If the show wanted to stay true to Jane's character, then there is no way that he would leave any sort of a paper trail, or ANY possibility of someone finding out his list...There have been TOO MANY times already that a mole has found out crucial information and ruined their plans!

So, in my mind, there are only two reasons why Jane would tell the list to Lisbon:

1. The list is fake, and Jane has one of his elaborate plans to catch RJ through casting out the "fake" list of suspects to throw people off.

2.  There is a reason why he WANTS Red John (and other people) to know that he already has a list of 7 suspects.
I have no clue why he would want anyone to know...but maybe it is part of his plan?  I don't know...
I guess you could say that he just wants to be loyal to his "team" and keep them informed, but come on, when has he EVER done that?

So, even though it seems that Bruno is sticking with the list, I just really hope he throws a huge curve ball at us, and gives us an AWESOME ending (that still makes sense, obviously)...

No need to explain, I just know it's him.
Too clever to be on the list, probably had Jane's office bugged before he even moved in there.

I've got to go with cop instinct on this and make Virgil Minelli my prime suspect.  To be sure, it would be a black eye for a fellow officer of the law to be a serial killer, but I've been suspicious of the guy since season 1.  I have alerted my commanding officer, Sheriff Taylor, of my theory.

He fits the physical description, he has the means, he has the opportunity.

From a casting perspective, Gregory Itzin has the gravitas and the chops to play the role.  His scenes with Simon Baker are fantastic, kudos to both, you're never quite sure who is playing who and what their ulterior motives are.  I could buy him as Red John.

I think the list of 7 suspects is a marketing and ratings ploy, and a clever one at that to reboot the series and bring it to a conclusion.  The list to me wreaks too much of a parlor game of Clue, whereas Jane and Red John are playing grandmaster chess.  Ultimately I think the list is misdirection, Patrick Jane is on to his man, finally one step ahead, and he's in the process of outwitting and drawing out Red John.

The writers did a subtle job of inserting Minelli's name in the last episode.

I am not certain, I'll be the first to apologize to Virgil Minelli and wish him a happy fishing retirement if I turn out to be wrong.  If not, he's got a reckoning coming, do what you have to do Patrick.  I'll get my one bullet ready.

Seasons 1-3 to me were outstanding.  I would've bought Bradley Whitford as the evil mastermind if it ended there, another wonderful actor.  Seasons 4-5 to me were not the quality of the first three.  Hopefully season 6 does the series justice, it deserves a quality conclusion.

Finally, to the 28 scumbags who have suspected J.J. Laroche, my lawyer will soon be serving slander and libel lawsuits you vicious bastards.  I acknowledge he's quirky and misunderstood, but J.J. Laroche is good people.

Best regards,

Bernard P. Fife, M.D. (Mayberry Deputy)

To be honest I'm none the bloody wiser after last weeks episode. If there is a secret society which seems to be rife within law enforcement we are assuming of the CBI at least Lisbon, Cho, Rigsby and Van Pelt are clean. Stands to reason if the Red John case was being looked after by a group of clean cops RJ would want to be close not only watching what they know but also getting his jollies off watching them fail.

Surely in order to be involved or rather control something so unwieldy he would need to command respect amongst law enforcement. Potential peers perhaps?

Ah well. Best I can come up with.

Do any of you fools actually belive a word Bruno Heller says?  Do you still think Red John is one of the seven suspects?    I called it after season 5 finale that Red John is more than one person or an organizaton (at the time i thought it was in visulze not law enforcement)  I also thought Minelli was involved and one of Lisbon's team was and after last episode this seems more likely    I still think it is Jane      why is Jane still alive ?  Jane is the only one who is close to having red john's  "powers"  he had a mental breakdown    EVERY TIME YOU HEAR RED JOHN'S VOICE IT IS SIMON BAKER'S VOICE        the whole show is misdirection

In one episode when 2 cops died  and Jane  said RJ is getting sloppy and i remember the way Virgil Minelli addressed the media , looked very personal. One could argue how do you expect him to react when two  fellow cops being murdered. True but if i was in his position as the head of the unit i would have stayed and helped find the killer but no he nicely  resigned. He knew he was getting sloppy so he had to leave in order to stay focussed. He also asked Jane to join CBI and asked Lisbon to give all the RJ files, so that he could monitor him at the same time  it could present a greater challege. And also in another episode in Season 5 he got a call from a FBI director Agent Shultz or someone and asked him to give updates on RJ findings by Jane and in return he would get a top ranked friend from FBI. May be thats how RJ knows all FBI movements. And also there was no need of that episode to show how jane started working for CBI. May be earlier but not in Season 5 unless they wanted to remind us of Virgil Minelli because at the end they just cant all of a  sudden say he is RJ as he didnt had any part to play after that cop killing episode in second season.

I don't know why everyone is talking about gps devices as some kind of solid evidence.
As we saw before RJ is not some kind of a beginner. He knew about trackers and if he's on the list of 7  for sure  he didn't bring his phone while "working".
Jane knew from the beginning that RJ will find out about the trackers.
The question is what is he offering to his minions so they follow him and die for him.
He is not a lonely psychopath but a mentalist who can control and give orders to high ranking people in state law enforcement agencies.
That person must have qualities of PJ, Mashburn and Stiles.
