THE THEORIES

the series transformed from being totally illogical and anticlimatic to a boring soap opera

This weeks episode was a nice surprise. It was fresh and interesting and set a good new direction for the series.

But my expectations of the show have been adjusted after the previous 8 weeks which were the low point of the series by a long distance.
The RJ kill moment was ok but to dedicate 8 episodes and, really, 5 seasons providing alleged clues against RJ, the tying up of main plot threads in that fashion was appaling and wreaks as if heller & co just said "f*ck it!" and ran with the script turned in by the work experience kid.

Simon Baker is the cleverest of the two men behind this show.

hi folks..

like all of you, I was disappointed with the rj revel more coz it was never a reveal for us as we knew it beforehand through the leak..but..
I think heller here wants to make exactly that point. That RJ was no genius, just a depraved man obsessed with his own vanity and using weak people dragging them down and then disposing them. Iits like he does not want to glorify a garden variety serial killer which any man with a delusion of grandeur can become. there is precedent of that in history..ted bundy and all thought they were geniuses and killed w/o remorse when they were just depraved people who killed for a kick which they couldnt get thought normal tasks as they may be did not have any empathy for anyone.
i know part of me loved the mystery of the unkown villain and his psyche, his creepy voice and elegant mannerisms. but hey, that does not happen. such a capable man would run a evil business empire and not kill people for a kick..that indicates depravity.

so now heller maybe wants to direct the focus on jane completely and his positive genius to solve the real evil issues in the society like some evil corporation?
your word?

I'm not a "Jisbon" fanatic but I wouldn't mind seeing them end up together.  I just wonder if the writers can create interesting new story lines because I have no idea what the overarching theme is going to be now.

I was pleasantly surprised by this episode.  I thought the whole thing was going down the tubes - but hopefully they'll keep it fun and interesting like they did tonight.

I wonder how long it will take Jane to get back to his old self. I admit this episode was sort of boring, but I can't wait to see Jane and Lisbon at it again! :D

I guess, thinking back, perhaps Red John was meant to be disappointing, especially since Jane even sad he was disappointed. Maybe to show that not everyone is who they seem to be. Red John was not as smart as he seemed. Just had people in places to tell him what he needed to know. Took the evil that is Red John from being Jane's mental equivalent and made him just another serial killer. Though the war was fun, I can see the point of view in making Red John turn out to be less than he made himself seem. It is more realistic, I suppose. I would prefer for Red John to have been more of match for Jane, but ah well. It's good to see Jane smile again, now we just need to see him smirk. :P
