1. Brett Partridge is Red John; leader of Tiger, Tiger

2. Ray Haffner, in Visualise is RJ's friend and killer associate. He was in the door opposite.

3. Michael Kirkland killed Jason Lennon.

4. Reede Smith killed Michael Kirkland.

5. Reede Smith, Gail Bertram and Sherriff Thomas McAllister turned out to be undercover agents in "Tiger, Tiger."

6. Bret Stiles is RJ's father.

7. "Brett Partridge" was just another alias.

8. Brett Partridge was related to Elise Vogelsong.

9. Patrick Jane is related to Brett Partridge.

10. Patrick kills Brett Partridge in "MacArthur Park."

I theorize that Jane will be able to kill Red John and walk free because the secret Tiger, Tiger cop organization will help him out.  That's the only reason, besides providing a new base story line once Red John is wrapped up, for the producers introducing this new "enemy".  Red John is as much a pest, it seems, to Tiger, Tiger as he is to Jane.  The three with the tattoos are clearly hunting Red John as well.

I've read many theories on this site, most of them are well-thought, but man some of them are utterly pathetic. TWIN BROTHER MICHAEL KIRKLAND? SERIOUSLY PEOPLE? What on earth are you guys smoking? Come on guys, it's not rocket science, it's basic logic. An irrelevant character that was introduced very late on the show is going to be the big bad Red John? I'm not even sure we can call him a "character".... Come back to your senses, have a cup of tea, take a shower, relax on your sofa/chair or whatever and think for one second before writing your theories. Imagination is one hell of a weapon, but without critical thinking, you won't be able to use it wisely.

Bruno always writes in a large element of surprise regarding the killer in every single episode mystery. With a mystery of the largest scale I just find it hard to believe that he would telegraph who Red John is to us even if he says one of seven or six or five. He is too good a writer to take the element of surprise out and prove it's one of the five left.

His where's Waldo comment keeps ringing in my head. A "where's Waldo scenario" is not ... it's down to five people! Who among them is Red John!

To me it is obvious that it is not someone on the list because too many people no matter who of the seven would say "oh yeah that's what I thought" Bruno is better than that. I don't know who but they are not on the list.

i think that grace van pelt knows who RJ is, and feeding him information about PJ.

how did RJ knew where PJ was going when he saved him from the copycats?, his phone was wire ,,, bugged. (van pelt)
how did RJ knew about Bertram and PJ's meating in the mall with Hightower (via van pelt).

the whole thing about the three dot org is orchsterated by PJ to catch RJ.
like in other episode when he points out a wrong victim to catch the real one like the panzer case. but this time its on a biger scale.
and PJ doesn't trust his team,,  he knows there is a mole but not who.

PJ witnessed the killing of the copy cats and when RJ's gone he had a small smile, he knew something more about RJ,,, to lure us, there was the tyger poem, but PJ knew more, one essential thing that RJ dosen't like imitations of his work, and this is the only way to bring him somewhere.
RJ have the TIGER TIGER org.
PJ have the three dot org,, but only Bertram and kirkland know about PJ
Reede and macallister are following Bertram and kirkland, and for them the three dot org is to catch RJ because PJ is not doing the job. and to find out about tygers. That's why reede aksed betram; how much does PJ knows about all this.

PJ did have a discussion with kirkland after his arrest,, we didn't see it and neither his team mates. and we will later know what was it about.
Kirkland was supposedly shot in a prisoner's clothes. but he was arrested in a costume  he had all the time to be arrested and then to be transferred. that's when PJ talked to him.

Smith shot kirkland in front of a tiger tiger. it was a lure
partrige and kirkland are not dead,, The PI kira if dead she was a sacrifice (as in chess, PJ is a good chess player). all those fake deaths were cheap imitations of RJ's work.
throught his mole in PJ's team RJ know that somebody is imitating him (the Partridge killing)
and also knew throught the same mole that the same killer tried to bugg PJ's team and killed the PI, and this guy has a three dot tatoo. so now RJ is looking for this killer.
and since whe PJ tell his team mates about his projects,, but this time he told them his going to bring all five remaining suspects and sees witch one has the three dots tatoo, knowing that RJ would want to kill his imitator. and most probably RJ will be after reede Smith,, because the tyger tyger report that kirkland was killed by him and since reede is not a tiger he could only be the false imitator.

why cho misguided the PI KIRA, into accusing visualise, is he involved?
