THE THEORIES

Think that only Gale Bertram is the only one remaining in the list of suspects? think again. Here is the new list of suspects:

- Brett Partridge: He was in the same room with Lisbon and RJ before he "died". We didn't see Cho check the face of the corpse, we didn't see his death on-screen, and the cut on the corpse left shoulder is interesting. He might be still alive, and he is my prime suspect as RJ.

- Michael Kirkland: The twin brother of Robert, technically on the list since he looks exactly like Robert, not confirmed if dead or alive, so he is on the list.

- Bret Stile: The body found was burned and charred, and linked to Stiles via DNA only. The writers gave this the time and effort to be explained in the episode. Also Lisbon said that she thought even a nuclear bomb wouldn't kill him. So he is still on the list.

- Gale Bertram: I don't think that he is RJ, but he is still alive and he was on the original list.

Now at the end of the episode, we see some scenes from a church, which I think are symbolic. I am thinking "resurrection", which could refer to either Bret stiles, Kirkland, or Brett Partridge who are thought dead. Stiles promises that he will return during his ritual. Also "III", which might mean the three remaining suspects other than Bertram, or the three dots in the Blake Association's tattoo.

Also, there are events that weren't shown. Who fired the shot at Jane's house, and how did the explosion happen?

From this episode we learned:

Gale Bertram is NOT Red John.
Brett Partridge is NOT Red John
Reede Smith is NOT Red John

And we also knew:

Bob Kirkland is NOT Red John.

That leaves us the Sheriff, Ray haffner and Bret Stiles.

Is not the Sheriff.

Is between Ray and Bret. But I think that none of them is Red John and we are going to be surprised!

I feel that if some serious magic isn't pulled of in the next episode, and i mean serious magic, then the mentalist is the worst tv series i've seen till now. No explanations of so many things, no surprise element, suspects dying left and right randomly in an explosion, clues contradicting each other, holes in the plot everywhere. At least some sort of consolation will be when RJ is revealed to not be Bertram, but still.

Ep. 7 SPOILERS ahead, read at your own risk.

Judging by the comments here I'm not the only one who was disappointed.

First off, I was expecting some explanation about what happened in PJ's house in between the gunshot and the explosion. And about who fired anyway, at whom, etc.
It also honestly annoys me (almost since the beginning of the season, but in this episode especially) that no one seems to give a flying f*ck about those who die. They get killed off and we move on. Personally I didn't want Stiles dead (even though he was dying anyway). I didn't want Bob dead for that matter.
It all just looks like the creators don't care about Patrick being smart any more, they just care about finishing this ASAP.

And Bertram = RJ? If they'd made it more believable. I can't seem to buy it no matter how hard I try. 'Kay, he definitely doesn't have a problem with killing random innocent people. But I don't believe RJ would kill Patrick in his sleep without ever talking to him one on one as RJ, the one who killed his family.

What I liked in this episode was Reede Smith though. I was surprised when he turned himself in, and I liked when they questioned him. Seems like he got into the Blake Club kinda by accident?
I also enjoyed watching Patrick interrogate the other Tyger cop, reading his expressions.

So I think it's safe to say Bertram is the leader of the conspiracy, since he cited Blake before, and Smith said that someone in the organization is a major fan. If he is also proven to be RJ, im gonna be one sad Mentalist fan.

All in all it just seems very obvious that they're rushing this hunt. Maybe too much.

Guys!!

Did anyone else notice how Jane reacted when Cho sent the pic of Partridge's arm?

It either means that its a clue from Partridge to Jane that he's Red John (I doubt it)

OR

It simply means that partridge wanted to leave this association so one of the association's assassins was sent to kill him and burn his left shoulder which makes sense.

I also noticed something very important:
the flash drive which belongs to Bertram contains the names of ALL members of  the association but its in a foreign language no one understands!

One last thing:
I seriously don't think Bertram is Red John because he doesn't have the intelligence RJ has and I think Jane is pulling his last trick in the game, he accused Bertram of being RJ simply because by doing that RJ will contact Jane and threatens to kill him because he ruined the image and personality RJ created. by saying that i think that RJ will kill Bertram in the next episode and paint the famous smiley face on the crime scene.

Whether you agree with me or not I think most of us will be disappointed if Bertram ends out to be RJ.

PS. 159 hours for the Red John episode ,, CAN'T WAIT !!
