THE THEORIES

Someone else already posted separate pics for this, I thought it'd be more helpful if they were made as one, with the same frame size.

It is a given that each scene would probably require several takes, but their difference is way too big.

The fact that there are now more "fake episode" theories than there were about Partridge, is a testament to the leaked episode's lack of satisfying plot.

I find myself wishing to believe that they are true, but I'm quite possibly in denial that another tv series I meticulously followed over the years simply jumped the shark.

Keep in mind that it wouldn't take much to totally twist the leaked episode around. It could be as simple as the 911 voice on the phone to be changed, and an extra 30 second scene to be added. If that farfetched idea doesn't pan out, they might at least treat us with a small scene of the "2 years later" situation of Jane, just to set us up for the next episode.

Ironically, if this episode does indeed turn out to be 100% legit scene by scene, the mentalist fans will mirror the journey of Patrick Jane: Something traumatic happened to us for being too smart for our own good, and we eventually get closure. The only difference would be the length, with Jane's being a 10 year one while ours will last from yesterday to Sunday evening.

Are you kidding us BRUNO HELLER ??? Everything has already been said...but still...are you freaking kidding us ?? A FREAKING PIGEON....the way PJ, Theee Patrick Jane used to solve murders was more elaborate than that...and for his final show down he brings a PIGEON ?? And what about that mascarade with Bertram...even kids do better than that when they play with their toys !! Hello made everyone look like freaking idiots...( except for Cho...Cho can never be made into an idiot.. )...Van Pelt knoking with her head, Abbot asking for a paper map or whatever...was all of this supposed to be funny to ease the intensity of the episode, because of wow...the whole thing was just so intense i coudn't catch my breath.....( sarcasm..just in case )..I spent the whole time telling myself that ths must be a prank, that the REAL episode would air on sunday...but now I'm coming to think that it's not and that it's all we're going to get on sunday...I hope not, but i'd rather prepare myself for the worst...

So yeah, I'll take some time to forget about this BS and write my own ending;...

JUST ONE QUESTION

ok so, do you guys think after EP 8 we will NEVER hear about RED JOHN ever again? I mean lisbon and the team will ask jane how it was to kill him right? I bet the team got so many question for jane in EP 9 about red john so does the fbi, the fbi wont go away that easly, not even 2 years, if you didn't know in EP 9 we time skip 2 years after red john death

Two years after the Red John case was closed, Jane receives a surprising job offer that could change his life.

This is the second episode of The Mentalist (after Pilot)
to not have a title associated with the color red. Since the previous
episode presumably revolves around Red John's capture or death, this
episode will likely show how Jane acts after the final defeat of his
greatest enemy, Red John.
In this episode the series leap ahead two years.
Heller said that the end of Red John saga will be the "rebirth
of The Mentalist". At this episode Jane will be a wanted man hiding in
South America and wants nothing more to do with crime solving, but
something will pull him back in.

Another question what pulls him back in? maybe Red John?

You guys got it all wrong. That pigeon planned it all. It gathered its friends and followed Patrick wherever he goes until he made the connection to RJ. Patrick isn't the mastermind who figured it all out, it's the pigeon! And it was there for a final showdown. RJ didn't run away from Patrick, he ran away from the pigeon. Now it makes sense why RJ was so scared and acted like a coward, doesn't it?

It was always involved in the story, right from the beginning but we didn't notice. Because it's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark pigeon.

Oh dear Oh dear Oh dear

I'm absolutely livid! Six years for that? Surely that's not it
I remember watching Strawberries and Cream(The best Red John episode imo) I was on the edge of my seat, but this this episode did nothing for me. During the confrontation I expected more, like flashbacks of past events and killings, Kristina Frye, explanations about how he narrowed down the list, explanations about how he preys on the vulnerable and how he recruits his disciples, explanations about how he killed Jane's favourite childhood memory and how he became Red John etc, I have no problem the with Sheriff being Red John but the story was simply not told well, it was rushed and through the years Red John has been made to be a powerful serial killer, in this episode he was made to look like a pussy, he begged for his life as well as dialling 911....come on! Perhaps they were trying to show his desperation but this was not done right, Red John is not a pussy at all, I expect his reaction to be something like "Go on do it" not plead for his life. I even thought Patrick would kill him the same way he kills his victims.

The only thing I liked was the relief Patrick Jane had on his face but overall the episode was just not good enough.

Please re-shoot this episode or even give us the run around again and tell us that Sheriff McAllister was in fact Red John's second in command, I don't care but please don't finish this beautiful storyline like this.
Overall it's been a disappointing week with my CBS shows, Person of Interest's latest episode, an excellent episode but a very disappointing ending. *sigh*

I just wanted to say that I enjoyed reading the theories posted on this site, it became addictive reading. A lot of great minds and imaginations out there, make Bruno Heller look like an amateur. You should all pursue your talents, and maybe one day you can give Red John a proper send off.

You may have heard about the comical manner in which Bertram kicked the bucket; if you are interested in one of his many facial expressions during this hilarious scene, then here you go:

Trust me, this is the most hilarious scene the Mentalist has ever done. Unfortunately, I do not know how to make a GIF. I trust that people will have fun with this scene.
