THE THEORIES

There are 2 theories I've read thus far that I'm confident are wrong.

First, the earlier theory that Raymond Haffner is Rosalind Harker's brother doesn't make sense.  If so, why wouldn't Rosalind say that Timothy Carter was Red John when PJ brought her into the morgue?  That way, she would protect her brother and give PJ the mistaken impression that he killed RJ.

Second, no way Kirkland is RJ.  Just way too obvious and easy.  I don't buy the convoluted theory that he got plastic surgery, which is why Jason Lennon did not recognize him.  I actually think Kirkland is trying to kill RJ for himself, hence his obsession with the case.  I think RJ will kill Kirkland in the season 6 premiere.  Now, you are wondering, "well then how did RJ know the list of 7 suspects?"  I think PJ wanted Kirkland's guys to break in, so he would lead him straight to RJ.  However, I think one of the homeland security guys works for RJ and gave the information to both RJ and Kirkland.

As of now I'm leaning towards Thomas mcallister mostly due to process of elimination.  I don't think it's brett partridge since he's too young, and I don't see how a lowly forensics guy can wield such clout.  I think PJ will start focusing on Bertram, mcallister, and haffner, and then go from there.

I think it's the sheriff Mc Allister. He is the sheriff of a small town.  In France, when we speak of a city outside of Paris, for example the campaign, said there was a smell of potato. Now, remember statements Rosalind Harker at the end of season 1.
Sheriff, you're surrounded.

I'm pretty sure that Bruno Heller had already introduced Red John in the first season (or by latest the second one), because he had no idea if the show would continue, and in the worst case, he would've wanted Red John to be atleast introduced as a person to the audience. Cross- referencing that fact with Jane's list, that only gives three names :

1. Brett Stiles
2. Sheriff Mcallister
3. Brett Partridge

(A) Since Brett Stiles was the one who assigned Red John (the 'kid') to work in Elliston Barn (If you closely listen to Cooper on that episode), and since Partridge is the more obvious choice, that leaves only one man : Sheriff Mcallister.

(B) He was acting like a creep when he tried to escort Grace Van Pelt, so it could be obvious to guess that he could've kidnapped, raped and killed Miranda Martins.

(C) And this is the stupidest theory you could find, but Jane and Mcallister didn't become lifelong friends. You could see that the Sheriff was so pissed when he couldn't beat Jane in, after all, a normal game of Rock, Paper and Scissors...

(D) The guy who killed Rebecca had a Sheriff's uniform, and his body build resembled that of Mcallister.

(E) Simply, he's the one most people wouldn't give a second thought about, because he appeared in only one episode. The list could've contained Minelli, Masburn, or even Ron (ESPECIALLY Ron), and people would've really considered any one of them to be Red John (I did, myself, see #4298). But why, specifically, would Jane note down the Sheriff's name??

After re-watching RED HAIR (2nd episode of Season 1) and CRIMSON HAT (last episode of Season 4), I feel that Red John can definitely be Thomas McAllister.

In RED HAIR ... while Lisbon and Jane are interrogating the drug dealer/boyfriend of the murder victim, the Sheriff is in the room too.  Before the boyfriend answers Lisbon, he looks at the Sheriff - who gives him a signal by squinting and cocking his head.  At this point, the boyfriend tells his story.  He looks at the Sheriff again later in the conversation after being asked another pointed question from Lisbon.  Keeping in mind that Red John has many types of people working for him, the boyfriend could be an associate.

The husband/wife (owners of the restaurant) who turned out to be killers, could also have been working with Red John/McAllister.  He may have been at the restaurant the night of the murder to provide cover for his associates, not answering a call about an unruly customer as he said he was.

There was also the obvious scene where it looked like the Sheriff was attempting to kidnap Van Pelt.  Perhaps he knew about the CBI plan (through one of his contacts) and was attempting to distract them while the husband/wife kidnapped the other red head at the restaurant whom they brought to the hotel room to kill.  They were killed, so there's no way to know if they were Red John associates.

Finally, at the end of the CRIMSON HAT episode - after the FBI has shot at the limousine and mistakenly killed the head of the CBI - a police cruiser drives by.  This has been mentioned in other theories.  When you slow down the scene, the driver can very easily have been Sheriff McAllister.  Perhaps he was there to speak with Jane in the limousine (via the phone), of perhaps he wanted to observe what happened.  In either event, the police cruiser sped away...but for what reason??  The shooting was already done and the FBI/CBI were taking Lorelei, not the police.

McAllister could be Red John.

Also do not rule out Sheriff McAllister. Xander Berkeley, like McDowell, is another top actor, and Heller has a lot of scope and direction he can now take with this character. I for one, was convinced he was the red head killer in that old episode, so who knows, could be a clever double bluff!

Hey,

The "He is mar" or "IIe IS mar" seemed on mirror is a number "119 12 map".

I put "119 12" on google maps and got this:

There is a stadium next to the "Red River", and there is a "McAlister Deli" inside.
