THE THEORIES

It appears as if they are setting up for Lisbon to leave too. Whether she ends up with Agent Pike or Jane, I do not know. But I suspect she will end up with Pike and Jane will be her biggest fan and supporter. They're too good of friends to take it to a sexual relationship.

The show will final out with Jane being content that Lisbon is happy. Which will make him happy. All the other cast members have left, and he will go on with his life.

Just like the other poster said, the show has moved on from Red John. Red John is good for reruns only.

The Mentalist is going to end on a good note. The Red John hunt went on for years, and ended months ago. If you want a secretive type serial killer action type setting, I advise you to look into the Zodiac killer.

Patrick Jane avenged his wife and daughter's death. He is moving on with his life.

I suggest all of you do the same as well.

I just stumbled upon this site while doing some reading about The Mentalist. I truly do not know how anyone can truly believe Red John is not part of the show anymore. The Mentalist is clearly tapering off the cast to show everyone that. Even if they did bring Red John back, most of the cast (excluding Simon Baker) is leaving.

The show would not be the same regardless. I loved the whole chase of Red John, but they decided to take the show in another direction. It's looking more and more as if the show is being steered to show Patrick Jane got his man and is moving on, as well as the rest of the cast. When you start losing nearly the entire supporting cast, the show is prepping for a final close.

The Mentalist unlike some shows and movies, is going to have a good ending. All of them are taking their own paths and moving on. Whether it's a new relationship, new career/job or whatever. Either way, Red John is NOT part of things anymore.

Bruno Heller stated that Red John would be a disappointment and it could throw the show out of favor with a lot of people. He also warned that the show was not about Red John and was about Patrick Jane.

Bruno Heller also has left a lot of questions, that I know burn a lot of you up. Everything from how did Red John know about the list, to what was on the zippo flash drive, to what happened to this person or that person., to 'how did that happen' or what happened to..?"

Those questions will most likely never be answered. Some things are/were red herrings while others are meant for you to figure out and come up with your own speculation. Just like most of you do, who do not accept the Sheriff was Red John. Those of you who do not accept that, are trying to be armchair detectives and figure it out.

A lot of you think Bruno Heller does not know what he is doing, but he does. He made all of you part of the show, he made all of you spend countless hours doing research and conduct your own little investigation. Not many shows can do that!

Patrick Jane got his man. He came back to the US, to join the FBI because he wanted to see and be close to Lisbon.

It seems many of you forget that 2 years passed by from when Red John was killed until the following episode. And not a single Red John killing since then. Not one.

If Red John was still part of the show and wanted Jane back in the game, all he would have to do is renew their relationship by doing what he originally done--Kill someone Jane loves. Such as Lisbon.

So to answer "Who is Red John", I shall do that for you.

Red John was Sheriff Thomas Macallister.

Blake Association-Done!
Brett Partridge-Long Gone!
Kristina Frye-Done!
Lorelei- I can't believe she is even talked about. Done!
"Michael Kirkland"- This one cracks me up every time.
Visualize- Nope.

I like the idea that the BA was a type of "secret masonic group" as simon baker says.
The Mentalist likes to emulate real life in many ways that i think a lot of us dont pick up on.
An illuminati type cult inside law enforcemnent and goverment is no conspiracy theory.
These cults are highly documented and researched and are topics for other tv shows as well (true detective).

The Mentalist also depicts scientology with the cult Visualize.
For christ sake can a fan get a Visialize episode up in here or what?!
The Fbi had many ties to the BA and was always infiltrating cbi during key situations.
Stealing Lorelie, stealing cases, olaughlin, reede smith, slowing down jane in the "red john" episode etc.
The fbi also was about to take over Visualize and arrest Styles after a break in a 30 year old case !
What evidence came about? Who is the evidence is the better question.
Visialize has its own undercover cops just like the BA does.
They also have political power with Gabe Nylands Loutennant Governor muscle.

Red John being in the BA and shit the leader of the BA makes no sense.
It explains how he was always one step ahead but thats it.
Red John was a serial killer who killed a distinct type of female killing her in a speciallly detailed way.
It was always females too except one guy who got in the way. Carter Peak.

It started in the late 90's but why does a leader of the illuminati-type cult
moonlight as a serial killer in his "free time" from being a mafia don and a sheriff?
Red John killed a bunch of specific women from 1998 to 2003.
Jane called him names and Red John Killed his family in 2003.
Then Red John killed another unamed female in 2005-2006
THEN IN 2007 Red John breaks code for the first time ever and
rapes Miranda Martins and lets her die of heat exhaustion!
A serial killer who NEVER raped a single victim rapes Miranda Martins.
Was Red John ever Roy? Sounds like something Dumar Tanner would do.

Then kills Jared wrenfrow and hooker to quiet them.
Red John then killed emma Plasket and let dumar get caught.
Then he kills carter peaks doctor by shooting him in the head and agent hicks for investigating Towlin Morning, Peaks doctor.
He has Rebecca Anderson who didnt seem like BA kill Bosco and the team. THEN USES BA AND REEDE SMITH TO GET ACCESS CODES TO CBI TO KILL THE SECRETARY WHO DIDNT TALK AND WHO ALSO HAD THE SAME SECURITY CODES!!
WHY US THE BA ? AND FBI REEDE SMITH?
-Then Red John Kills tv host with Kristina Freye for calling him a beast. 2010
-Dylan and Ruth the copycats in 2010.
In 2011 red john kills Panzer.
In 2012 he kills that morgue guy and put him in Harkers closet.

-"kills" loreLIE Martins
-Then he kills Janes favorite memory Eileen Turner.
-Janes psychiatrist Sophie Miller
THEN Brett Partridge, Kira Tinsley WERE LEFT ALIVE LONG ENOUGH TO TALK.
-Then he blows up Brett Styles and Haffner.

_My point is that looking at the victim timeline we may have 2 RED JOHNS.
Just look at that list and see that a serial killer likes to do a specific type of killing. The real red john killed all those women in 1998-2003 because they were all his type except Janes wife and child who were a punishment.
There are many victims on that timeline that are done by someone with different motives and styles.
-miranda martins? Brett partridge, kira tinslet, styles, and haffner all seem fishy. Lorelie as well and maybe a few others.
Maybe heller is not lying and killed off someone who used the name "red john" but the real red john is still alive.
Or maybe not

I just got through re-watching the "Red John" episode and would like to make some comments:

1.  The episode itself is very well done.  I know everyone wants answers to "who, what, when, why, and how" but Patrick doesn't and says so.  All the fluff that people on this and other websites are arguing about DOESN'T MATTER.  All the trivia is not as important as we think.  What is important is that Patrick found/killed Red John and got his revenge.

2.  No one was going to be completely satisfied with the final suspect.  I understand those who wanted it to be Stiles, Partridge, Hafner, etc.  But someone had to be Red John.  It was NEVER going to satisfy everyone.

3.  I thought the final scenes were well done.  Patrick had a chance to NOT kill Red John but had to to be true to his mission in life.  It could not have happened any other way.

4.  The final scene with Patrick running was especially moving.  He is running away from his past (mother and young daughter holding hands), his present (watching his daughter slide down the slide), and his future (old man/woman holding hands).

I, as may of you, did not envision this as Red John's end.  However, if you watch the episode objectively, the ending is true and terrific.  Everyone thought that the CBI and the FBI were enemies.  The subsequent episodes have shown this not to be the case.

I, for one, do not hope the series gets cancelled.  I became a Mentalist fan about two years ago and have followed it religiously ever since.  It is a good, entertaining show and I hope it goes on.

If i were an optimist, i would look in these things for a slightest little hope:

- how Red John knew who will be in Patrick's shortlist EVEN BEFORE Patrick? We never got the real answer. Season 5 ended with that bang and as much as I wanted to know who is Red John, i also wanted to know how he knew those names. That thing is still huge!

- the mysterious USB flash drive containing what? All we know it was found in Gale Bertram's secret room (but we saw that lady addressed him as Thomas, why?) and if you look better that scene, I don't even think Gale was aware of that flash drive. However, even though flash drive is somehow connected to Red John, we've already seen Patrick using it to get his terms with Abbot so I kinda doubt they will ever revisit that flash drive, don't know..

- and final thing - last Red John words: ''I have real psychic powers''. That was the biggest anti-climax moment for me. This is not a sci-fi show and if you watched the show from beginning, Patrick said numerous times ''There's no such thing as real psych'' and we all know it! And not to mention, Red John actually killed his wife and daughter just because he was pretending to be psych and badmouthed him on TV. That last sentence from Red John doesn't add up to the whole show, no way.

BUT, on the other hand, the fact we never really got to know how Stiles knew where was Kristina Frye kept, and they let him die without ever telling us, makes me believe it is over and kills my any hope i will get any other answer, they just don't care. I mean that thing was huge back then. in any normal tv show that would come to line to be answered at some point.

Hi, I'm from Spain.

It's to see how people keeps making theories. Don't you really see that the mentalist is over? It's gone, and will never come back. Heller destroyed it, and didn't care about it. I'm so dissapointed... He's been kidding us for 6 years.

You guys are funny, but I don't want to take away your joy..
Bluebird is the symbol of rebirth, new beginning. Of course it has more meaning, but they are not going to use the most ridiculous meaning, but the most obvious one. That's why that Karl (producer) guy didn't want to say it..Because when we hear the title, it's obvious that Patrick Jane is going to have his happy ending. = bluebird.
He is finally going to let go of his past.
That's what bluebird means. When you list the other, more ridiculous meanings of bluebird, it's rather funny!:D As if the writers are thinking like that! They just look at the most obvious meaning, you should have learned that a long time ago, they don't think like we do!! Lol :))
