It is 100% not Jane and your a idoit a moron you have the IQ of a rock if you think other wise. He is not old enough, he received a phone call from Red John, he was in a mental facility for god sakes

I don't think I'd like it at all if Jayne is RJ, but the signature symbol RJ always draws looks like Jayne. The smug smile, outward slanting eyes...it's Jayne's face on that wall. Nobody else looks like that.

And the Alice episode did seem like a broad hint that Jayne is the man he's hunting. The wife's absence, the daughter telling him he had to let go....it's also starting to be a little unbelievable that Jayne hasn't caught RJ by now.

RJ's abilities are suspiciously like Jayne's own. Hypnosis, sleight of hand, etc....from the giggling dying guy season 1 I'm pretty sure RJ is someone who works for the police, and is trusted by Jeyne. The remark that Jeyne has shaken his hand, is a bit of hope that it's not Jeyne.

One of the theorists had mentioned before something like the one I will be. I just wanted to add up some reasons to it. The theory in essence is related to RJ being one of the disciples of Brett Stiles once but overpowered him in terms of mental talent and personal charisma which had resulted with breaking up from the Visualize and forming up a kill-oriented semi-cult. When you observe Stiles's behavior against RJ phenomenon, you can see the fear and hesitation in his eyes. He wants to help but obviously to some extent. He definitely knows more than he shows. Being that much left-in-the-middle can be explained in two ways : either he deeply loves him, or he's scared of him. First option can lead us to a conclusion that RJ was someone very close to him (maybe his own son or a son-like pupil) so even if he got hurt by him somehow, he still can't give up on him. Second option would only contain deep hate and fear all together. Either way, these two fellas are connected. 

I'd like to get your attention to another point. Many people's lives and the general outline of many events/connections are way too much known to us so far. However, there are also many other elements which have just been touched a little and then left for re-opening I believe. Jane's past and it's recent reflections for example. What happened to his father, any details about his time in the mental institution, etc. The point I want to make here is, writers want to look stuck with whatever we are already discussing. However, there are many things to be covered out of these intact subjects and making very surprising connections with those shouldn't be so hard for such a crew of writers. Think about it. The final scene I imagine goes like this: RJ is exposed and arrested. Lisbon doesn't let Jane kill him. After hard struggles, Jane admits the fact that he can't kill him anymore and is kinda ok about him being arrested as at least he has some kind of punishment. With the relief given by this, he's having a calm conversation with someone we all know well in a silent atmosphere and then one move, only one move reveals the truth that the guy he's chatting is actually RJ and before even he knows, Jane puts a bullet in his head. Then the flashbacks connecting this little spark that enabled Jane to figure out that this guy was actually RJ is displayed in a well-worked manner and we all keep staring at the screen like dumbs thinking about how the hell this happened and how we missed those clues in the first place. 

Because fellas, if anything like LOST or 6th sense happens, then Heller must be in grave danger since someone among the audience may become his own RJ.

in season 5 we have seen some scenes that make teresa a suspect more than in previous seasons..we have to realize that the main characters of the mentalist are teresa and patrick.therefore it makes sense that in the series finale there has to be some kind of a showdown between these 2..in season 5 teresa has been shown to be macabred to say the least.twice we have seen dogs bark at her....the evil look...it wouln't susprise me to see her in the final 7 suspects list...from the beginning i've been saying that teresa and patrick relationship looks more like brother and sister than a romantic relationship.and we don't know who the third brother is...i have also said before that i think vanpelt could be revealed as a relative of red john if teresa isn't revealed to be rj   we know from prevoius episodes that teresa was raised in chicago and patrick,danny and alex have a past history in chicago.so there's a conection between teresa and patrick...don't know the motive yet though.angela's granparents used to own many companies troughout the midwest working with steel...roy tagliaferro...cut iron...iron..steel....so rj,pj and lisbon and angela are somehow connected...also remember how patrick is the opposite and has a way with animals. these people have been mys red john suspects for a long time...jane,lisbon and van pelt..it could be that they are not rj perse but the mastermind behind it.

if you want to know who rj is watch season 3 episode 1....there's a connection between red john,gale bertram,harvey dublind and visualize...AND  a connection to the poker night we have seen several times.( have you ever wondered what that was all about? )..will post my results later.

Now, what everyone seems to forget when disapproving the theory that Jane could be Red John is that he does not have to be Red John all the time.
Most arguments used to disapprove this theory are that they cannot be at 2 places at once.
Now, what we have witnessed throughout the past 5 seasons is that RJ NEVER does ANYTHING. he has people doing it for him!
Now if I was Jane/RJ and I wanted to keep this a secret i would certainly too make it seem like i as jane was at one place while RJ were at another, to rule this theory out. keep in mind that Jane is one of the smartest people on this show - he is very intuitive, and he is always one step ahead. why wouldnt he be one step ahead as RJ too?
He definitely cant be ruled out - i thought so when lorelai said that she would find RJ (she said this to jane) but then i realised that up until then it has never been the real RJ it has always been someone in place of him. maybe the person lorelai thought was RJ was just another stand-in. 
remember that if it really is Jane you would have no way of being sure - he's that good.

I think Kirkland suspects Jane of being Red John and that's why he is investigating him , he as an idea that maybe Jane himself is Red John and knows that Jane himself has no idea .

The only way this show can go out with a bang is Jane having a mental disorder that allowed him to have a split personality .

Like it or not anything else would really disappoint me in a big way .

I don't think anyone else as the brain power to outsmart Jane apart from Jane himself .
