I hope brett partridge gets killed at the beginning of season 6 just to mess with everybody's head...how ironic would that be..patrick at the crime scene,looking at brett's dead body with the smiley face on the wall...EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE...with rj starting to kill more often it makes you wonder if some of the suspects will be killed..especially people that somehow have a " connection ' to patrick  like brett partridge..maybe kill somebody very obvious like partridge or bob kirkland...when they start the hunting for rj...i'm pretty sure we'll se a couple of wtf moments or surprises.probably the less ovbious will be there until the end like reid smith and the sheriff...even though part of me thinks gale is working for rj...he's the only one that makes sense to me besides partridge...brett is way too obvious...is too bad my favorite suspect walter is not on the list.

This isn't a theory just some concentrated info to narrow the field. Some above are too tall, short, muscley, scrawny or I'm sure if we look back at the episodes some don't have strong hands as Jane has probably commented on one of their handshakes although not all are shown.

Some of my own eliminations: Brett Partridge- A disciple not RJ, too obvious, theres too much info pointing at him but he'd be the key to informing RJ on Jane when he is AT crime scenes. He could also assist in hacking into the CBI "secure" server but it's likely someone else assisted in the hacking as we don't know how far up the chain RJs disciples go.

Bret Stiles- Intelligent enough, has plenty of followers already including a suspect Ray Haffner but he seems far too old to have been the one who RAN away from Cho and Rigsby in the season 1 finale.

Reede Smith- Don't know enough about him could easily be RJ but with great acting but tbh I think he isn't athletic enough I imagine RJ being like Moriarty in the sense he's a capable fighter...although Jane isn't like Sherlock in that sense. But still from my last point on Stiles I don't think he could outrun Cho and Rigsby

Robert Kirkland- I don't think it's Kirkland because he is far too out in the storyline if that makes sense in the same sense as Stiles and Partridge it's seems to easy like we're being pointed in their direction.

Which leaves Gale Bertram, Sheriff Thomas McAllister and Ray Haffner.

Heller said one of the 7 is definitely RJ I personally like all 3 for it.

My favourite would be Gale Bertram although he is taller than 6ft but I don't know if Heller will stay to that fact as the witness was blind.

i just started watching the mentalist again from the beginning (4th time) and on the pilot i found something interesting...first let me tell you that the only reason i'm doing this is because there's something about lisbon it doesn't add up...i'm not acussing lisbon but one of my theories is that gale might be red john.besides from stiles and partridge gale bertram has been on the series since season 1 and had a role in some important episodes and season finales....and teresa might of been working for red john since the beginning...i have never believe in jane and teresa having a romantic relationship if anything i see it as a brother and sister...remember what jane said to lisbon about having feeling for laurelie martins?he said that he would tell anything to her if that would get him a step closer to rj...so he used her..maybe he lied maybe not...i have a feeling jane has been suspecting something from lisbom for a while.especially since he told her that he knew some thing about her that she didn't know he knew....my gut is telling me there's something there,i just have to prove it or wait for season 6....OKEY  so here's what i notice in the pilot 1-if you watch the episode almost everybody usually keeps a close eye on brett partrige BUT watch the episode after the flashback and when they are at the murder scene and patrick and brett are talking about rj....notice how they keep the camera on lisbon...not cho,not wayne....keep an eye on lisbon face and you'll see what i mean especially right after patrick says " this isn't red john " the look on lisbon's face is priceless...if she is somehow involved with rj it would make sense why jane never trusted her with his list of suspects or his plans since he started the list before the 7 suspects.think about it...rj is a ladies man...he loves the ladies,wouln't make sense for lisbon to be rj's lover from the beginning and be there to be close and keep and eye on jane...which brings me to my next pont..WATCH season 5 episode 13 the red barn...we learn that teresa have been working with the cbi 10 years...now go back to the pilot in the flashback when patrick talks about rj on tv was 5 years before the pilot..WHICH MEANS teresa started working for the cbi around the time rj killed patrick's family....DO YOU SEE WHAT I MEAN?? there;s something there....HERE'S THE PROBLEM..watch 5x5 red dawn...this episode was supposed to take place a couple of weeks before the pilot...watch when wayne is talking to lisbon about patrick...wayne says "  patrick jane,wife and daughter about a year ago "...THE TIMELINE DOESN'T MAKE SENSE...is it possible that with so many writters on the show somebody made a mistake?...BUT STILL you can't deny there's something about lisbon's past...i'm betting she is not red john BUT is either currently or in the past a lover of rj...he loves the ladies,remember how rj used rebeca??lisbon as a rj's lover makes sense....or somehow involved with rj

I don't really have theory. Partridge and Bertram are my favorites.
Partridge lost a little bit points in season finale even I agree to the cues introduced here.
Like he denies if RJ did the murder, smiley face next to him saying look at me, it's me etc.
But I believe since Lorelei came back to picture that everything have been setup by her and PJ.
Season finale was all about PJ confirming his views.
He was really demanding when asking Partridge's opinion. It felt like PJ already knows what is the truth in this case and he simply wants to see the reaction and answers of Partridge. I think this kill was not RJ like Partridge insisted.
Lorelei is alive and she and PJ did the video recording.
Throughout the season finale for some reason PJ is constantly setting ideas In Lisbon's head like this 'happy memory'. Most likely Lisbon is blackmailed somehow by RJ. When Lisbon is watching the Lorelei video, PJ is paying heavy attention to her reactions on each picture. In the end Lisbon turns her head to left - Bertram.
Other option is that Lisbon hurt her hand while giving hard time to Lorelei; right hand -Lorelei left hand and left cheek. But I don't like this option as it is more logical with setup of PJ and Lorelei.

Gale Bertram = Great Male or Great Balmer 


RedPalace user on this site made an incredible anagram from Reede Smith (the red is me); which motivated me to do the same for Gale Bertram.  The most coherent one I have is "Great Male" but that leaves out the "B" and other "r" letters.  "Great Balmer" (Balmer is the lava-flooded remains of a lunar crater [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balmer_(crater)]) uses all the letters.  Here are all the weaker/ridiculous ones:

Gale bertram was the first person I suspected to be Red John. After the season 3 finale I changed my mind about Bertram being Red John, and suspected 20 other people based off random theories. Now that Bruno Heller has given us 7 names to choose from, Gale Bertram being red john makes the most sense. He does have a creepy vibe about him.
