THE THEORIES

I just hope that atleast Reede Smith is not Red John. He does not fit any criteria and the guy who was in Harker's home was thin, even his fingers were thin. Still in the ending, if they portray Reede Smith as Red John, then this will be the worst series ever on TV. All the clues thrown at us were fake. I think it might be Bertram. Remember Red John told that he found out when his good friend in the FBI found out. Both Smith and Bertram are in Tiger Tiger group. And looking at how things might turn out, Bertram might be revealed as Red John, so in a sense all the clues still stick together and yet the fans will be disappointed. I don't see any reason why Reede Smith would be Red John. He wasn't there from the beginning. Only Mcallister was. So the entire logic has been thrown out of the window by Bruno Heller. The reason why nobody is able to predict who Red John is exactly is because everyone is trying to use logic whereas Heller does not have one logical theory. So whatever you do, in the end I just hope that it is not Reede Smith.

1. We know Bertram knows Kirkland. Agent Kirkland asks "Can we trust her?" about Lisbon to Bertram.

(a) If its Michael, he's asking "Is she holding out on info about Lorelei Martins?"
(b) If its Robert, he's asking "Is she part of the corrupt group in law-enforcement?"

It is most probably Robert. Because Kirkland says "You'd know better, you've worked with her." And Bertram says "Can we trust anyone?"

2. We know Bertram calls himself seemingly "duplicitous" right in front of Patrick. That's not something a suspect/Redjohn should be saying.

3. We know Bertram wants to be there, when they catch Redjohn.

This all points to Bertram being the Snape of The Mentalist. He's a triple agent. He's actually a good guy.

I have just remembered a scene from a few episodes back when PJ was in Bertram's office with some of the other RJ suspects, PJ said he was getting closer (or along them lines). Once PJ leaves, Reede Smith asks Bertram just how much PJ knows, to which Bertram say's "that is the question" and he say's it in quiet a creepy way, not in a way that he is just frustrated because Jane is being secretive.

He has been in it long enough for Hellar to have a "look all this time he was RJ" moments.

The actor who plays Partridge has said himself that he is actually dead, so that would rule him out.

After watching this, and presuming McAllister, Haffner and Stiles are dead (when Rigsby pointed to them)... I think Gale Bertram is probably Red John... I don't think it's Smith.

Gale Bertram
Reed Smith
Thomas MacAllister

One of them is RedJohn. Bertram is the TOP choice. Especially because of the close mean look he gaves to Patrick. That look means "you got me bastard, I am so going to kill you now".
Enough theories. The stage is set. We finally got him.

Well now i am sure its Gale. Keep your enemies closure, thats what Gale did to PJ. I think some how he used Brett Partridge to do murders and that why he killed him first. Thats why all the evidence pointed towards Brett. Also, being head of CBI he has all the resources.
