A while ago I made the Red John/Bertram 666 theory/clue. I was recently informed by a fellow member her that carmen lee, the name Lisbon was called in the hospital, also adds up to 666. Thank you for that information. This makes my theory even stronger as heller is obviously yet subtly hinting back at the names which add up to 666. This can't merely be a coincidence as Patrick alone equals 666 and Jane alone equals 666 but patrick jane together doesn't. He meant for this to be found and it has purposely added them in. The carmen lee hint was added in hoping someone would find them and piece them together. since only Gale bertram equals 666 in the suspect list, as well as Red John himself, Bertram has to red john.

Checkmate heller. We've found you out and solved your puzzle. Game Over.

If you use your instinct instead of only clues (that are read hearings most of them) you will see that RJ was revealed a long time before.
I admit I was fooled by Heller, until last episode (7) where in the final was so obvious who RJ is, if you just clean your mind and watch the last episode you will see the same..

Reviewing some of what Sophie said about RJ:

"He's well spoken, good posture,self-possessed, in the waiting room he sat calmly...he says he deals with conflict and adversity easily, though I am not convinced he is being truthful about this...In fact much of what he said though spoken convincingly, did not match what i can only call my instinctive response to his presence...I sense something deceptive and dark in his emotional makeup..."

Now in your guts, which character does this description fits the most?

Every other suspects than Gale fail in some of this points. Macllister is not self-possessed enough, not even Haffner, Reed doesn't have a good posture and it's not exactly well spoken, Bret posture it's also not that good.

He is proud, but likes to pretend is not..he is proud enough to kill PJ family just because he humiliated  him on TV...who is the show off guy there?

This is the most important characteristic, watch closely Episode 7. Watch closely each suspect eyes and manners, specially after PJ revealed the tattoo thing. 
Gale was so obvious it hurt's..his emotional backup was fallen..the darkness in his eyes, his expression, the way the camera filmed him..

I'm beginning to believe it's Bertram. But why didn't he kill Lisbon in 6x1?

I think what people have been saying about the 666 theory is correct.
You see the numbers at the end of 6x01 where BH said there was a clue to RJ's identity. 

If you type Red John you get 666 and if you type Gale Bertram you get 666
If you type any of the other suspects you don't get 666.

We see Bertram talk with Lisbon and after she leaves we find out that Kirkland was behind the door listeing. When I first saw this I thoght that none of the two were Red John and that they were working together to find or to help Red John. But with what we know right now I see this in a different way. 
If that guy is Bob Kirkland and if he didn't lie to Jane in 6x04, that scene doesn't make sense for me because we know that Bob was working to put the Tiger Tiger organization down, he doesn't trust policeman specially high up, so why work this close with Bertram??
One possible look at this is that, Bertram is Red John and that guy is the other Kirkland brother, RJ friend. 
Yeah, I don't like this theory because it envolves twins and stuff and I always feel like that is a soap opera kind of material but never the less is a possibility.

PS: Bruno Heller let Red John be anyone except for Reed Smith (and Bret Stiles). I kind of both love and hate this show right now :s

Part 1:
The emotions are high, The mood while shooting the reveal and death of Red John was strange and discombobulating, " says creator and ex producer Bruno Heller," There were a lot of hugs when it was over, and a champagne toast, It was really quite moving because, in a way, it felt like we were killing of an old family friend. Red John has paid for a lot of Mortgages'" 

The actor playing him says he was "stunned and flattered' when he learned that His character-one of seven final suspects-was the shows big bad. "Earning this little place in pop culture history was the last thing I ever expected," He admits" truth be told, I thought I was a red herring.




Part 2:
"There's been a thorough house cleaning in California Law enforcement as a result of the vast conspiracy led by Red John." says Heller. "Ghosts from the past will continue to play a part in the show, but it's definitely a brighter day. At first, Jane wants nothing more to do with crime solving, but-like Michael Corleone in the Godfather-he's pulled back in." 



So red john is indeed the leader of Tyger Tyger, I'm really not hoping it is Reede Smith, actually I would hate to see hem being Bertram either.


I'm still hoping for some kind of shocking and unexpected guy to be revealed as RJ but I highly doubt it......

In 6x01 in the house where partridge is killed there is a brief flashlight shine on the wall that has 666 on it. Why is this important? Bruno Heller said a clue was in that seen regarding the identity of Red John. Why is the clue 666. Becasluse each name has a number. The antichrists as well as Jesus', JFK's are all 666. When you go to a name number finder type in Red John. Red Johns number is 666. So this shows its his value. But he's not the only one. All the other characters and suspects have a different number except one. Gale Bertram's name equals 666 as well. So Red John=666=Gale Bertram therefore Red John=Gale Bertram.

It all makes sense. In season 3 they met and shook hands and Jane had a weird vibe about Bertram then in the season finale of season 3 Bruno heller promised we'd see the face of Red John. The red sweater guy and timothy carter were all red herrings. But Bertram was there with Jane and we saw his face so Bruno was hinting that Bertram is red john. Plus he magically disappeared after Jane shot carter. After he saw what jane would do to who he perceived as red john.

Ashley gable said red John is like waldo who stays in the background. Where is Bertram in the CBI? In the background or out of the shot. We'd have to look for Bertram like Waldo in the CBI to find him unlike CBI Ron who is always obvious. Waldo is difficult to find so its not him.

Around 2009 all of Red John's crimes took place in Sacramento. Where's the CBI headquarters which Bertram is head of? Sacramento. Around the time Bertram moved to Sacramento to take over for Minelli is when all the murders took place around Sacramento and the CBI. Why? Because it was where Bertram lived and was within his range.

He has the tyger tyger tattoo and Kirkland thought red john was in the tyger tyger organization.

While he's at his job his accomplices do the kills so he doesn't get caught and people start wondering while he's gone. If red john was unemployed he wouldn't need accomplices.

Red John had a ring on his finger when his hand was shown. So does Bertram.
He also knows William Blake.

He fits the descriptions. Around 6', short hair( on his sides and back ), not too soft but not too strong, bald on top so he'd wear a baseball cap so his head doesn't get sunburned like the girl saw the guy in the baseball cap.

Bertramwas closest to partridges death scene and if he knew about the phones he could easily abandon his and be there to kill partridge and be back before anybody notices. We don't know Bertrams fear is so he doesn't seem like a red herring.

When smith told Bertram that's your job Bertram didn't follow his order he just kept quiet. Its his job to watch Jane and know how much he knows about tyger tyger and red john because he's red john and in tyger tyger. Thus its his responsibility to watch after himself.

Bertram wanted to be there when Jane caught red john. He's taunting Jane because he's red john so of course he'll be there.

Robin Tunney said she was shocked when red john was revealed. Why? Well if you worked for and played pokerwwith a serial killer wouldn't you be surprised. I would be. Plus he's been right under James nose taunting him for three years.

Finally, when the bomb was brought by red john and went off on the couch who was the farthest away from it? BERTRAM!! plus did you see the tears in Bertrams eyes when his shoulder was revealed. He looks scored because his covers just about blown and hes going to die. He also shows narcissistic qualities as he always watches the image of the CBI and himself and pays attention to the media all the time. Who else does that? Oh yeah red john.

I've made my points so either Bertram is undoubtably Red John or he's the ultimate red herring. Only time will tell.
