THE THEORIES

Okay everyone is saying that Bertram is Red John. And he probably is, but I was just watching Strawberries and Cream, season 3 finale, on TNT and Jane and the team were trying to uncover who Red John's informant was in the CBI, by telling them were Hightower was. All of you most likely watched the episode so I am not going to go into details. They gave every suspect, including Bertram, a different room number. So when the assassin that the informant hired came into one of the rooms they would know who the informant was. It turned out to be Craig. :(
But if Bertram is Red John, and lets assume Craig was in contact with him about it, wouldn't he have known that the room numbers were different and that it was a trap?

I thought about this for a while. But then I looked at the other two suspects, and realized that Bertram is the better choice to be Red John. Because, come on.

And to the people out there who think that Red John is Bob Kirkland's twin brother Michael, though some of you do make very valid points, let me ask you this. Would you really be satisfied with Bob's twin, whom we didn't even know about until about three weeks ago, being Red John? I know I wouldn't. I really hope that Red John is Bertram.

After watching "Strawberries and Cream" again, I know it's Gale Bertram. In an earlier episode, Jane talked about the power of suggestion. In "Strawberries and Cream," Jane suspected Bertram of working for RJ, for the 2nd time. It wasn't until Bertram said, "You're at the end of your rope..." to PJ that Jane immediately thought of O'Laughlin instead. He put that suggestion in PJ's mind. Then, he walked away right as the fake RJ gave himself away. I think O'Laughlin was part of Tyger Tyger, doing Bertram's bidding, and fake RJ (Carter?) was also a disciple willing to take the fall. One very interesting thing about the episode that I just can't get over is when LaRoche kills the gas station attendant. He looks at Jane and says, "He tried to escape. He was going for a gun. I had no choice." Seems almost word for word what Reede Smith told the patty wagon driver about Kirkland. So either LaRoche is also Tyger Tyger, or Tyger Tyger really are trigger words for hypnosis. LaRoche almost says it in a rehearsed way. PJ suspected something about Bertram twice in the same season. He suspected he worked for RJ, when in fact he IS RJ!

Remember 'He is Mar'?
Well what if the 'mar' was going to be Bertram spelt backwards..

For those who think it's Bertram, I just rediscovered a really important clue that shows he can't be Red John.
We now know that Red John has a burning desire to befriend Patrick. He wants to be friends with him so badly that he's willing to expose himself and put himself out in the open for Patrick.
Red John + Patrick have been playing a game of cat and mouse for years, and Red John enjoys it. We know that Red John really cares about Jane.
In the season 4 premiere, Bertram tries to get the assistant DA to ask for Jane's bail for the murder of Timothy Carter to be extremely high, and also to ask for Jane to serve the longest/harshest sentence that the law could allow.
Red John, as we've seen, does everything in his power to keep Jane in their game of cat and mouse, such as killing Bosco and his team so that Lisbon's team gets the RJ case back.
So if Bertram is RJ, then why would he try to keep Patrick imprisoned for as long as possible?
Thus, it's very unlikely that Bertram is Red John. If he were Red John, he would have been a heavy advocate for Jane's release from prison, instead of trying to pull strings to keep him imprisoned for the longest sentence possible.

yes Jack Plotnick is playing the killer rite now on criminal minds and doing a great job at it. Probably doesn't help his case for being red john. Ive thought it was him from the beginning but, with all the spoilers and the fact Micheal Gaston is the only one listed for the 8th episode guess its time to face facts its gonna be Bertram. If anyone could comment and convince me otherwise I would love it, seeing is how haffner or partridge are the only 2 I think make sense but think the cat is outta the bag  its Bertram unfortunately.

About the bomb...who says that it wasn't Jane that set the bomb to throw Lisbon and the others off, maybe he high tailed it out of there with the suspects that were left alive OR before it went off.
If RJ did plant the bomb maybe it was only on one side of the room maybe he was looking for his moment to escape or maybe he predicted that Jane would separate the three with the tattoos to one side.
Maybe RJ notified all the TT members about the bomb and let them in on the plan would explain why there is the three left alive next episode.
I wonder why he would try and blow up Jane if he desperately wants a relationship with Jane in the end. Maybe he is desperate with the TT being exposed.

It's really sad that Red John AKA Bertram ( just saying) uses everyone and anyone, doesn't care about anyone EXCEPT JANE. It's like a twisted love story.... he even exposes himself (keep it clean) to Jane because he is desperate for a relationship with him...friendship. awwwwww blesss.
