I think he is Red John

Just a little thought. The episode where Red John saves Jane from the copycats. If this actually is Red Johns  voice, is it only me who think it really sounds like Dr. Linus wagner?

red john is dr wagner. he is a psychiatrist and so an expert of psychology like jane, he might also be a much more accomplished hypnotist then jane. it would make sense also as red john would have appeared in pilot of the series. he let jane catch him in the first episode on purpose because as a superb hypnotist and a large network of accomplices jail is no restriction for him , he might be able to get in and out on will and nobody would suspect him or think of looking for him in JAIL! that's why he used jane to get himself there. that's why red john is always confident that nobody can catch him. nobody would look for him in jail and he would always have a perfect alibi even for times he was out.

he might even have jane under hypnosis when he had a session with him to prescribe the sleeping pills, maybe part of that session was not shown in the episode. would also explain how he know about jane's happy memories etc.

it would also explain how he knows the list of jane's suspects, because they are all people who had something to hide and have willingly or un-willingly helped red john at times, so it would be logical that jane could not eliminate them and red john would know that also.

Roy tagliaferro/ jay roth etc. may have been wagner himself or an accomplice.
This would explain all the clues hints etc. in the series quite satisfactorily.

Red John can't stand copycats, and he copy RJ, so why hasn't RJ killed him yet?

First off, Red john cannot be a member of Jane's family; looking for personal vengeance against jane like his brother jimmy, cos red john started killing long before he knew Jane. kirkland and brett are being painted as red john possibilities by the producers and its way too obvious. They cant be. Personally, i think its Dr linus wagner, travel back to the first episode, check out the handshake scene between the dr and jane, it was a bit too epic. in the season 1 episode 'red johns friends', The man that patrick helped from prison, who later escaped to mexico where he met his waterloo in a bathub, he wrote on the wall, and i quote 'He is ma{r}{n} the last letter could be a 'r' or 'n' more likely 'r'. it could mean he is marooned, which means in a place he cant get out from {prison} this points to linus wagner. He could have his ways of getting out and returning, maybe through the laundry van like our thief friend in 'like a redheaded stepchild' in earlier season or have people do his dirty work from outside. In prison he could do a lot of research about patrick, resulting in his infinite knowledge about patrick. And i guess we all know that Red john calls the mentalist by the name 'patrick'  leaving most of the other suspects out of it.

I think Red John is Dr.Linus Wagner or Alex Jane (Patricks father)

1.He is on prison so he has a perfect alibi
2.Red John is powerful.He can put a double in prison.
3.He fits the age
5.He is a doctor so he knows where to cut victims.

1.He possibly has the same skills as Patrick
2.It would be very interesting if he was Red John
3.Fits age

I think that red john is Dr Linus Wagner because :

1. Red John doesn't like the copycat and he kill the copycat. Dr Linus Wagner is in prison.

2. Nobody can think that Red John is Dr Linus Wagner since he is in prison.

3. Jane was wrong because the first murder was truly john red. (episode 1 season1)

4. In 1988, red john is 30 years olf or less. In the first episode, Dr Linus Wagner is maybe 55 years old. 

(2008-1988 = 20)
(55-20=35)

In 1988, Dr Linus Wagner was 35 years old.

5. For me, red john is appeared in the first season.

6. As Timothy Carter, Dr Linus Wagner help the children in difficulty.
