I just re-watched Red John's Rules. After Patrick calls the number written on the wall at the murder site, he says "Child Protection Services Carson Springs...well when I was a kid, I spent a little time there". It just occurred to me that is when the "happy memory" could have been relayed. They keep records no doubt on the children who come through there. I've been racking my brain about the "happy memory" and have previously thought it was discovered when he was institutionalized, but it makes more sense that it could have come out say with a therapist when he was younger and that he forgot about it. The files would be easily accessible to Ms Gotlieb. Also something that really stands out to me is when Patrick and Lisbon are talking in the car, he says "Assuming Lorelei is telling the truth...". Why didn't he say, "assuming Lorelei was telling the truth"? Can't wait til the new season!

Bret is scary when you think of it he is RJ. He is no different from PJ the only difference is that he's a killer. He is creepy!

1. How do we know that he plays the CD he got from the woman? He could prepare it himself or idk obtain 2 cds in that letter.
2. He slept whole night at the office leaving his place so it was quite easy to get there and see his notes.
3. PJ is using deception method again as he did pretending to hit rock bottom.
4. If tape isn't prepared by PJ himself Lisbon is collaborating with RJ.
5. Bret Stiles is really mysterious but loves to boast. That really matches leaving significant smile.
6. Partridge couldn't kill PJ's family when he was 5,could he?
7. Kirkland = type of lone wolf
8. Maybe PJ was just testing Lisbon ,because she says in finale "i can keep secrets".

okay this isn't a theory but i need someone to explain something to me..

In the season 3 finale, Lisbon re-dials the last number called by O'loughlin. That was the number of the fake red john. why is this? surely O'loughlin was still contacting the real red john as that is who was tracking down Hightower? 

Furthermore, if O'loughlin told the fake red john the location of Hightower's whereabouts, then how come red johns assasin turned up to kill her?

Please explain! 

Wouldn't it be boring and predictable if Red John turns out to be Stiles...I would blame laziness on the writers if they choose Stiles....I agree that he has worked with Red John but he CANNOT be Red John..........It's too obvious......After 6 years of anticipation, I would want Red John to be someone unexpected who had potential and not obvious choices like Stiles, Kirkland or even Brett Partridge.......I want bewilderment when Red John's identity is being revealed.which would then lead me to rewatch old episodes to observe Red John and his interaction with Patrick........Do not let me down....

Anyway, here is my Red John theory........in german :P

Auf der Verdächtigenliste von Jane stehen die Namen vom Bret Stiles, Gale Bertram , Robert Kirkland, Raymond Haffner, Reede Smith, Sheriff Thomas McAllister und Brett Partridge.

Eigentlich ist das ganze jetzt ziemlich simpel :)
Bruno Heller sagte bereits in Interview zur dritten Staffel, dass man Red John bereits das ein oder andere mal in der Serie gesehen hat. Damit fallen Kirkland, Haffner und Smith weg, denn diese Charaktere sind erst in der fünften Staffel hinzugekommen. Smith ist ausserdem zu fett. Bei Kirkland sollen alle denken, er sei Red John, aber das wäre einfach ZU offensichtlich ;)

Es bleiben übrig: Gale Bertram, Sheriff Thomas McAllister, Brett Partridge und Bret Stiles
Bei McAllister ist es recht einfach: Er tauchte nur einmal auf und steht nun einzig und alleine deshalb auf der Liste, da man eine Person dabeihaben wollte, an die sich niemand mehr erinnert hat.
Jane hat ihn bereits nach wenigen Sekunden durchschaut und Stein, Schere, Papier gegen ihn am laufenden Band gewonnen. McAllister ist salop gesagt zu blöd um Red John zu sein :)

Auch bei Brett Partridge hat man sich viel Mühe gegeben, ihn als Red John darzustellen. Ich denke, er war zu Anfang der Serie als Red John eingeplant, falls es die Serie nur auf 2 Staffeln gebracht hätte. Er ist es jetzt aber nicht mehr ;)

Gale Betram... SCHWER! Bruno Heller sagte einmal, dass die finale Szene zwischen dem Fake Red John im dritten Staffelfinale eine wichtige Rolle für die Auflösung der Red John-Geschichte darstellen wird. Hier spielt nur Bertram eine wichtige Rolle. Ausserdem: Wie sollte Craig O'Laughlin herausgefunden haben, dass es sich bei der Hotelgeschichte um eine Falle handelt?? Eventuell, weil er sich mit Gale Bertram über den Aufenthaltsort von Madeleine Hightower ausgesprochen hat ;)

Wirklich zusammen passt das allerdings nicht: Ich meine... Bertram ist sogar zu dumm zum pokern

Bleibt noch Bret Stiles. Er hat sowohl die Beziehungen, als auch das passende Auftreten, um Red John zu sein. Als Serienkiller kommt er mir allerdings ein bisschen zu alt vor. ABER: Das muss nichts heissen, denn ich denke dass Red John seine Morde nicht selbst begehen würde, sondern nur Menschen beschäftigt, die die Drecksarbeit für ihn erledigen. Ebenso wie Thommy Volker.

Fazit: Red John ist Bret Stiles, eine gewisse Chance besteht aber auch für Bertram.. Das müsste aber schon sehr an den Haaren herbeigezogen sein. Warum Reede Smith auf der Liste steht, wo er doch ganz offensichtlich viel zu fett ist und nur ein einziges mal in der Serie vorkommt, verstehe ich allerdings überhaupt nicht. Oder heisst der blutige Spruch an der Wand am Ende: HE ISR MAN...CINIS PARTNER? ;) Das wäre dann so richtig bescheuert :) Bleiben wir lieber mal beim guten alten Bret Stiles
