LATEST THEORIES

The Mentalist put Red John on ice nearly a year ago, and the cast is now speaking out about the demise of Patrick Jane's mortal enemy.

Simon Baker, Robin Tunney, and series creator Bruno Heller opened up about the drama's decision to reboot its storyline as season 7 heralds the end of the Patrick Jane saga.
"You can't keep tricking audience or vamping on the audience with that kind of critical plot point," Heller explained in a new featurette (see below). "So rather than play games anymore, it felt like the audience was ready for a definitive statement."

After five and a half years of hunting the man who murdered his wife and child, Jane had to find closure in order for writers to send the faux psychic down other paths.
"At some point, the pursuit of Red John might in fact be keeping us from going places with the character of Jane that we would like to go otherwise," said executive producer Tom Szentgyorgyi.
As season 6 proved, one of these potentially storylines included a canon relationship between Jane and Lisbon; a story arc that proved to be a fan favorite.
Now that The Mentalist is moving into its final 13-episode run, fans can expect Jane to continue branching out in his personal and professional life now that Red John is in the past. Find out more when The Mentalist returns to CBS in 2015.

Can we all at least agree that season 6 sucked donkey nuts.  I mean it may have been the worst season of any tv series i have ever watched.

Season 6 was a true and complete "jump the shark" moment for this show.  the first 3-4 episodes weren't devestatingly horrible, since they all had a local murder of the week and followed the standard format of the show.  but they were still focused on overloading the audience with ridiculous and over-the-top clues to how each suspect could be RJ.

then came the next 3-4 episodes when the show decided to completely abandon what had mad it successful and focus solely on the RJ chase and loading up on confrontations and action scenes with people banging heads againts windows and pulling killer pigeons out of their asses.

then there was the entire second half of the season filled with soap opera antics and everyone sitting happily around the campfire singing kumbaya.  jane dressed like a slob....lisbon kept falling in love, GVP was pumping out babies, Rigsby was wearing a retro 1984 Michael Jackson pleather jacket, and Cho was making jokes constantly.  Not to mention the new characters.....fishcer the unemotional robot, and abbot who pulled the ultimate 360 from hardass to teddy bear at midseason.  i get that jane lost the stress of RJ, but for every character on the show to completely change personalities!!!!!  what a crock of shhhhh....

and i didn't even mention the excrutionaly long and multiple mid-season breaks the show took to leave us guessing only to come back with this low grade horse piss.

so now i'm completely torn....do i go into season 7 with expecations based on 5 seasons of intense and well written episodes, or do i go into S7 with the noose tight around my neck and the dining room chair i'm standing on wobbling on it's last leg???

SPOILERS

I’d call this downright meaty: In Episode 7 of the coming season (premiering… at “midseason”), we will meet Lisbon’s two brothers. The younger one (early 30s), Jimmy, is a gambler being sought by the Feds (as a witness to a murder!), while Stan (late 30s) is a mild-mannered family man who miiiight know more about Jimmy’s sitch than he lets on.

Can't you see the scenario? Red John will be back. That's how:
Red John sent Agent Pike to Teresa Lisbon. When they became lovers, Patrick Jane got jealous. I mean, Red John urged Patrick Jane to declare his love to Lisbon... And now they became lovers.
Now it's Red John's turn. He will come back and kill Lisbon. This is a familiar case, right? Red John will take Patrick Jane's love for the second time.

Let's wait and see

hello there! its so obvious that cho is red john or his man.
lets check out kimball:
1) he (almost) never smiles that means he has no feels like a serial killer
2) he effects people like summer and he can easly give up from them
3) he has a dark past of family and childhood. he grow up in streets and reformatories
4) he's an old gangster also a prime one
5) he trusts no1 like a serial killer
6) he doesnt like patrick's tricks and (according to me) he hates patrick
7) he can know all the details of case (look matter-d for proof)
now lets look at our prooves:
a) when a guy (i dont remember who was he) asked him do you trust patrick he answered depends that makes me right about 1st, 5th, and 6th matters
b) at 4th season in an episode, when red john visited harker and lisbon went to operation (with darcy, special team, and other team of lisbon) for catch red john, we never saw cho there!
c) when patrick told to team red john told him a poem (tyger by william blake). cho knew this and knew what it means! according to this; he's developed as cultural of poem (i dont think so) or he's red john
d) red john has no spy in cbi craig was in fbi. can i ask why? because if you already know everything about cbi you dont need a spy there!
d-1) craig was grace's girl friend. you can use this for meaning of he was spy of cbi too. heres the anti of this; craig did this because he had to know special-info of members of lisbon's team. cho can learn them because he's style is not good to try this
thats why if cho is not red john he must me his man because of matter-c and matter-d
thanks much for reading im waiting for your feedbacks especially your anti-theories :)

Well, the new fall season is upon us and I'm curious what you all will
be watching.  Some of you say you have no desire to watch Gotham because
it's a Heller production and you are boycotting.  Personally, I'm just
not into superpower comic book stories made into TV series or even
movies so.... pass.
Since I'm one of those old ladies that enjoys
drama and good writing *cough* I'm looking forward to Madam Secretary
with Tea Leoni.  Women in power positions are usually a good thing if
there are enough women on the executive boards and creative writing
team.  Otherwise we get smart women on TV that are usually portrayed
from a closeup angle of their Victoria Secret bra's in smoky dim
lighting.  Although, I will admit they are tossing in the old lady
candy tease named Tim Daly as her husband.  (Will this man ever find a show of his very own?)
Other than the return of Hannibal I cannot say that the new fall season is looking all that stellar.

Wow what a dream i just had.
It was one of those dreams when you wake up you still think its real too..

It was a Mentalist commercial or episode and the show was on Fx!
The rest is blurry but i know Red John was discussed and there was curses ! But unfortunately it was all a dream..

But seriously if this show was on fx the whole time the it would of been great.
Baker is even on record of saying that if it was not on Cbs they would of liked to make the show pick up each week where the last show ended really digging into the Red John story line.
Which is funny because the show does seem like a bunch of cool shit happened off camera.
One can only dream..
